IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance or uture
re erence. Should the appliance be sold or trans erred to another owner, or should you move house and
leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is le t with the appliance in order that the new owner
can get to know the unctioning o the appliance and the relevant sa ety in ormation.
This in ormation has been provided in the interest o sa ety. You MUST read it care ully be ore installing
or using the appliance.
Installation
• This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when
movin it.
• It is dan erous to alter the specifications or attempt
to modify this product in any way.
• Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance
does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
Important: if the supply cable is dama ed, it must
be replaced by a special cable available from the
manufacturer or its service a ent.
• Any electrical work required to install this appliance
should be carried out by a qualified electrician or
competent person.
• Parts which heat up should not be exposed.
Whenever possible, the back of the appliance
should be close to a wall but leavin the required
distance for ventilation as stated in the installation
instructions.
• The appliance should be left for 2 hours after
installation before it is turned on, in order to allow
the refri erant to settle.
Child Sa ety
• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or
play with the product.
• Keep all packa in well away from children.
General Sa ety
•Take utmost care when handling your appliance
so as not to cause any damages to the cooling
unit with consequent possible luid leakages.
•The appliance must not be located close to
radiators or boilers.
•Avoid prolonged exposure o the appliance to
direct sunlight.
•Do not use other electrical appliances (such as
ice cream makers) inside o re rigerating
appliances, unless they are approved or this
purpose by the manu acturer.
During Use
• This appliance is desi ned for domestic use only,
specifically for the stora e of edible foodstuffs only.
• Frozen food must NOT be re-frozen once it has
thawed out.
• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the
freezer.
• Do not remove items from the freezer if your
hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin
abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
• Ice lollies can cause ‘frost/freezer burns’ if
consumed strai ht from the freezer.
• Manufacturers’ stora e recommendations should
be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant
instructions.
• The coolin plate or refri erated freezer shelves
in this appliance contain channels throu h which
the refri erant passes. If these are punctured this
will cause substantial dama e to the appliance
and result in food loss. DO NOT USE SHARP
INSTRUMENTS to scrape off frost or ice. Under
NO circumstances should solid ice be forced off
the linin or shelves. Solid ice should be allowed
to thaw, when defrostin the appliance. See
Defrost Instructions.
Maintenance and Cleaning
• Switch off and unplu the appliance before
carryin out any cleanin or maintenance work.
Servicing
• This product should be serviced by an authorised
en ineer and only enuine spare parts should be
used.
• Under no circumstances should you attempt to
repair the machine yourself. Repairs carried out
by inexperienced persons may cause injury or
serious malfunctionin . Refer to your local
Electrolux Service Force Centre and always insist
on enuine spare parts.

• When disposin of your appliance, use an
authorised disposal site.
• Remove the plu and ensure that any locks or
catches are removed, to prevent youn children
bein trapped inside.

OPERATION
Be ore using
Remove all securin tapes. Wash inside the
appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of
soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may
linger. Dry thoroughly.
Setting the temperature
The temperature inside the refri erator is re ulated
by a thermostat with 6 temperature positions and an
“OFF” (O) position.
Position 1 = minimum coldness
Position 6 = maximum coldness
Turn the thermostat dial to the required position.
The intermediate position is usually the most
suitable (3-4).
The thermostat settin can vary as the temperature
inside the refri eration compartment depends on the
followin factors:
– room temperature
– how often the door is opened
– how much food is stored
– position of the appliance
Important
Durin prolon ed periods of abnormally hot weather,
if the thermostat is set on too hi h a number, the
coolin system may operate continuously and the
frid e coolin plate may not defrost. Turnin the knob
to a lower number will cause the automatic
defrostin to resume.
Low Room Temperature Switch
To ensure that the appliance is workin efficiently
when the room temperature drops below 16°C, the
switch mounted next to the thermostat control should
be switched on.
No dama e can be caused by leavin the switch in
this position for any period of time (see pa e 10 Low
room temperature operation). However should the
temperature rise above 16°C remember to turn the
switch off a ain.
The reezer compartment
The four-star freezer compartment is suitable for
stora e of commercially frozen food and for freezin
fresh foods.
Freezing resh ood
When freezin lar e amounts of fresh food turn the
thermostat to maximum approximately 1 hour prior to
freezin .
When the food is frozen return to the normal
position.
In any 24 hours you can freeze up to 10 k . of fresh
food.
Place food to be frozen in the upper drawer of the
freezer as this is the coldest part.
If you need to store lar e quantities of food, you can
remove the drawer from the appliance and pile the
food directly on the coolin shelves, always
respectin the load limits where they are stated.
Important
In the event of a power cut the food in the freezer will
not be affected if the power cut is short and if the
freezer is full. Do not open the door. Should the food
be in to thaw, it must be consumed quickly and must
not be re-frozen .
DEFROSTED COOKED FOOD MUST NOT BE
REFROZEN.

Normal Operating Sounds
• You may hear faint ur lin or bubblin sounds
when the refri erant is pumped throu h the coils
or tubin at the rear, to the coolin
plate/evaporator or to the fixed freezer shelves.
• When the compressor is on, the refri erant is
bein pumped round, and you will hear a whirrin
sound or pulsatin noise from the compressor.
• A thermostat controls the compressor, and you
will hear a faint ’click’ when the thermostat cuts in
and out.
Making ice cubes
The appliance is provided with one or more trays for
ice-cubes trays.
Fill the tray(s) 3/4 full to ive the ice space to expand
and place them in the freezer compartment.
To release the ice cubes simply ive the tray a sli ht
twist.
Do not use sharp or metallic instruments to remove
the trays from the freezer.
Fresh ood re rigeration
To obtain the best performance, do not store warm
food or evaporatin liquids in the refri erator; do
cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a stron
flavour.
Do not cover the shelves with any protective
material, such as paper, cardboard or plastic, which
may obstruct the air circulation throu h them.
To help you use your refri erator correctly, here are
some more useful hints:
Raw meat (beef, pork, lamb & poultry or chicken):
wrap in polythene ba s and place on top of the salad
crispers.
Meat can only be stored sa ely in this way or
one or two days at the most.
Fruit & ve etables: these should be thorou hly
cleaned and placed in the bottom salad crispers.
Butter & cheese: these should be placed in special
airti ht containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or
polythene ba s to exclude as much air as possible.
Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be
stored in the bottle rack on the door.
Thawing
Frozen food, prior to bein used, can be thawed in
the frid e or at room temperature dependin on the
time available. Small food items may even be cooked
from frozen; in this case cookin will take lon er.
Any frozen food which is allowed to thaw accidentally
should either be eaten as soon as possible or thrown
away. Alternatively, if the food is uncooked and has
not been completely defrosted it can be cooked and
then refrozen.
Meat, fish and fruit should be thawed in the
refri erator compartment and small pieces of meat
can even be cooked while still frozen, but you must
ensure that it is thorou hly cooked throu h.
Ve etables should be directly immersed in boilin
water; ready-cooked dishes can be placed directly in
the oven in their aluminium wrappin .
A microwave oven is particularly suitable for thawin
any type of frozen or deep-frozen food: follow the
oven instructions, particularly re ardin the
placement of aluminium wrappin or containers in
the oven.
De rosted cooked ood must never be re rozen.
Frozen ood storage
When you first start the freezer or if the freezer has
been out of use for some time, we advise you to
depress the ambient switch for at least two hours
before storin frozen food.
Do not exceed the stora e period indicated by the
manufacturer.
Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave it
open lon er than is absolutely necessary.
Warning
Do not put carbonated liquids, (fizzy drinks etc.), in
the freezer compartment.
Ice lollies, if consumed immediately after removal
from the freezer, can cause low temperature skin
burns.
Do not remove items from the freezer if your hands
are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or
“frost/freezer burns”.

Door reversal directions
1. Disconnect from the electricity supply.
2. Remove all loose items, includin food, store food
in a cool place.
3. Gently lay the frid e/freezer on its back with the
top held away from the floor by 5-8 cm (2-3
inches) of packin ;
4. Remove the feet (2-3)
5. Remove bottom hin e (1).
6. Remove the freezer door by releasin it from the
middle hin e (H).
7. Unscrew the middle hin e.
8. Slide out the frid e door from pin (G), unscrew
the latter and then screw it down into the hin e
hole provided on the opposite side, after havin
removed the small plu s (I) which should then be
fitted on the opposite side.
9. Refit the frid e door and replace the middle hin e
to the left hand side.
10.Replace the door and bottom hin e (1) on the
opposite side.
11.Refit the feet (2-3) on the opposite side.
Attention
After completion of the door reversin operation,
check that the door asket adheres to the cabinet. If
the ambient temperature is cold (i.e. in Winter), the
asket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that
case, wait for the natural fittin of the asket or
accelerate this process by heatin up the part
involved with a normal hairdryer on a low settin .

Rear spacers
The plastic ba containin all relevant
documentation also contains two spacers to be fitted
into special holes in the back of the appliance.
Fit the spacers into the holes, takin care to ensure
that the arrow (A) is positioned as shown in the
dia ram. Then turn them throu h 45° (arrow (A)
vertical) until they lock into place.
