To begin taping, the following items
will be needed:

•1 set of G-Series tape guides
•2 tape guide screws and wingnuts
•1 pointer assembly

Center of the
machine
STEP 1:
•Install the GI-Series or GM-Series tape guides that
match the tape width you are going to use.
•Push the screw through the Tape Guide and Guide
Bar and fasten with the wingnut on the back-side.
NOTE: Bias the holes/screws in the guides toward the
center of the machine.
Other notes:
•Be sure to install the tape guides at the correct width to tape
if you are going to be masking for a painted line.
•If you are only going to be taping using one roll of tape, be
sure to set up the tape guide as close to the center of the
machine as possible.

Sticky side up
STEP 3:
•Press desired rolls of tape onto the Tape Drums.
•Make sure sticky side of tape is in the upward
orientation.
•Press tape roll all the way to the back ridge of the
Tape Drum.
Other notes:
•Make sure tape width matches the Tape Guide width.
•Tape roll should be a tight press fit onto the tape drum.

Properly aligned Tape
Drums and Tape guides
STEP 4:
•Adjust the Tape Drums so that the inside ridge is
aligned with the inside edge of the Tape Guide.
•To adjust the Tape Drums, push them in or out
using just your hands. They will slide hard, this is
normal.
Other notes:
•The Tape Drums are hard to move because they need friction
to hold their position on the Tape Drum Axle.
•Misalignment of the Tape Drums and Tape Guides will cause
wrinkles in the tape.

Rounded side of
point toward surface
STEP 5:
•Attach Pointer to the TM200 using the thumbscrew
and wingnut as shown.
•Align the Pointer with the ground before
tightening the thumbscrew all the way.
Other notes:
•Make sure rounded side of point is toward the ground.

STEP 6:
•Pull the tape under both front wheels where you
want to begin the tape line.
•Keep the pointer aligned with your guiding-line on
the surface and slowly roll the machine forward to
set tape.
Other notes:
•It is recommended to start taping a few inches before where tape
is required.

Centered
guiding-line
•Roll the machine forward while
applying downward pressure.
•Use the pointer to follow your
guiding line.
Other notes:
•Applying downward pressure will remove the most
air pockets from the tape and create a sealed edge
for painting.
•Rolling the machine too fast will put excessive stress
on the machine and provide poor taping results.

Using a Minorly Offset Guiding-Line
© 2022 Emery Game Line Page: 10
Other notes:
•Loosening the screws will only allow for an offset of about 1.5”
both ways. See next page for achieving a larger offset.
•Slightly loosen both screws in the Pointer
Adapter.
•Rotate the Pointer until it is aligned with the
offset guiding-line.
•Tighten the two screws in the Pointer
Adapter to hold the position.

Using a Majorly Offset Guiding-Line

Other notes:
•Do not over-tighten the screws, they will strip-out the threads in
the adapter.
•Not recommended for offsets over 6 inches.
•Remove top screw from the Pointer adapter and
slightly loosen the bottom screw.
•Turn the Pointer and set it with the tip set on your
guiding-line at the correct offset distance.
•Tighten the bottom screw in the Pointer Adapter to
hold the position. 6” offset

Maintenance
•Keep tape guides clean and free from dust, dirt, and tape

the bottom of the wheel collars.
•When replacing wheels, replace both wheels on the axle.
(Both front wheels or both rear wheels)
•If wheel axles become misaligned, contact Emery Game
Line for a re-alignment. NOTE: Do not attempt this yourself,
there is a special procedure.
