General
Features
Wisemover is a unique device that can help resolve carers'
biggest difficulties.
Wisemover is accessible: Wisemover can be attached
permanently to the mattress under the pillow, i.e. carers
don't have to find a device as the Wisemover is ready to
use!
Reduced risk of cross-contamination as Wisemover is not
shared by clients.
Wisemover helps prevent decubitus. The Wisemover is
folded back under the pillow after use and does not re-
duce the pressure-relieving properties of the mattress.
Wisemover can be used to move the client in four direc-
tions. A sheet can easily be positioned between the two
parts of the Wisemover.
Wisemover is made up of two pieces of ultra-thin smooth
nylon fabric, which is smooth on both sides. Wisemover is
fitted at the head end and under a hood.
The device improves working conditions for the carer
while reducing the risk of shearing and friction for the
client.
Thank you for choosing an Etac product.

A sheet can be placed between the two layers under the
pillow and under the top part of Wisemover. The sheet
can be pulled into position. To remove the top part of
Wisemover: Grasp the opposite corner at the foot end
and pull slowly up towards the bedhead. The sheet can
be hung on the sling arm and the client lifted.
Use
Positioning
To position Wisemover: Fit the non-slip hood at the head
end in connection with bedmaking. When not in use, the
Wisemover can be rolled up or folded and stored inside
the hood (Illustration 1).
Grasp the functional handles in the top and down parts
at both sides at the foot end. Then grasp the next set of
functional handles and so on until all sets of functional
handles are gathered at the head end, after which the
Wisemover can be folded under the non-slip hood.
Use
After positioning Wisemover, the client can be mobilised
up/down in the bed, or turned from side to side by pull-
ing on the functional handles (Illustrations 3 and 4). The
functional handles are positioned at the heaviest parts of
the body to achieve optimal effect of the carers' efforts.
Once the client is mobilised and positioned as needed, the
Wisemover can be removed. The carers gather each set of
functional handles once again, starting at the foot end.
Once again, they secure the handles under the hood at the
head end.
Grasp all sets of functional handles in one hand at once.
Then place the other hand over Wisemover close to the
body and smooth the device while releasing the first set
of functional handles (the set more or less at the client's
shoulder level). Pull slowly using weight transference
towards the foot end. If the Wisemover is rolled/folded,
unfold gradually, one fold at a time. This is repeated until
Wisemover is positioned under the client (Illustration 2).
