The Fazley Kubo 15BBT comes with a 12V DC lithium rechargeable battery installed as standard. This
battery can power the amplifier without the need for the power supply or a mains power socket. After
unpacking the amplifier, it is advised that the battery is immediately and fully charged to ensure that the
lifespan of the battery is not negatively affected.
The battery has been mounted in a special compartment at the rear of the amplifier. f the battery does
develop a defect and needs changing, please contact you retailer. Only experienced technicians are able to
replace the battery. Changing the battery yourself is done at your own risk and Fazley cannot be held liable

Use of this Guitar Amplifier
To get the very best out of your Fazley Kubo 10 combo guitar amplifier, please follow the steps detailed
below.
Connecting Up
To connect your electric guitar with this amplifier, you will need a standard instrument or guitar cable. This is
usually a 6.35mm TS jackplug cable, with either straight or angled plugs. Unfortunately, this type of cable is
designed in such a way that it will always cause a minor short circuit when connected to the input of the
amplier. This usually causes behavior like crackling noises, but can also harm your instrument and amplifier.
Therefore it’s important to follow the following steps when connecting your instrument to this (or any other)
amplifier.
Make sure that the POWER switch of the amp is not activated, the LED indicating the power status should
be OFF.
Connect the instrument cable to your instrument.
Connect the cable to the guitar input of the amplifier.
Now switch on the power of the amp, the LED will light up.
f you wish to disconnect the instrument from your amplifier after use, follow the steps in reversed order:
Make sure that the power of the amp is disconnected, the LED indicating power should be OFF.
Remove the guitar cable plug from the amplifier.
Remove the guitar cable plug from your instrument.
Controls
Make sure that the controls are set to a normal level. Set the gain control and volume level to very low, and
the Treble and Bass tone controls to the middle, or 12 o’clock position. After the amplifier has been switched
on, these settings can be adjusted.
Set the Effect Controls at their minimum level.
Amp/Cab Sim
The Kubo 15BBT comes with various built-in amp/cab simulations, that when selected, emulate
characteristic sounds that can make your electric guitar sound entirely different.
The amp/cab simulations control section can be found on the left of the control panel. An amp/cab simulation
can be chosen using the Selection knob and the selection is indicated by an LED.
Amp/Cab Options:
- Metal Drive 2
- Metal Drive 1
- Overdrive 2
- Overdrive 1
- Crunch 2
- Crunch 1
- Clean
- Acoustic
Bluetooth®
The amp/cab simulation control knob can also be pushed in and held to enable Bluetooth pairing with a
Bluetooth capable device.
Once the Bluetooth function has been enabled, it can be paired with a compatible device like a smartphone,
tablet, laptop, or computer.
Your device will find the Kubo 15BBT as ‘Kubo 15BBT’.

On the rear of the amplifier, the volume of the input signal of any device connected via Bluetooth can be
adjusted using the control provided, relative to the Master Volume level.
Please note: The Bluetooth signal cannot be sent via the fitted line-output.
Gain, Volume, Speaker
Once the other elements are set up, it’s possible to adjust and set the Gain and Volume. While both controls
seem to adjust the volume, this is not the case. The Gain control adds extra overdrive to the signal of your
electric guitar and the Master Volume controls the overall volume of the sound coming out of the amplifier, no
matter what the other amplifier controls have been set to.
Please note that the Kubo 15BBT is designed for use as a practice amplifier and is not designed for live use.
f the maximum volume of the Kubo 15BBT is reached, this can cause an overload which can drastically
reduce the lifespan of the amplifier. While the Kubo 10 will sound naturally distorted depending on the Gain
level, or the amp/cab simulation selected, unwanted clipping may occur when the volume is set to maximum.
When clipping occurs, it can cause unwanted noise and an extreme level of distortion that can put a
damaging amount of stress on the built-in speaker.
Two-Band Tone Controls
With the two-band tone controls (Bass and Treble), the amplified sound of the electric guitar can be tweaked
until you get the kind of tone you want. The Treble control sets the high frequencies of the sound, and the
Bass control sets the low frequencies. Experiment with the settings to find what you like, but it’s always a
good idea to try to keep the tone controls turned down as far down as possible. Be aware that when the Bass
or Treble controls are turned to a high level, this can cause distortion in those specific frequency ranges.
Effects Section
The Kubo 15BBT comes equipped with a separate effects section. This means it’s possible to put the sound
of your guitar through an amp/cab simulation and then add further atmosphere with unique effects.
A robust multi-functional Effects control can be used to scroll through four different built-in effects:
- Chorus
- Flanger
- Phaser
- Tremolo
The Selection knob can also be used to adjust the intensity and character of the selected effect and how
much influence the effect has on the sound of your electric guitar.
Using the Level control, the presence or volume of the effect can be adjusted from very low to very high.
A dedicated delay/reverb effect section is also included with a selection knob to scroll through four further
effects:
- Analogue echo
- Digital delay
- Multi Delay
- Reverb
The delay/reverb Selection knob can also be used to adjust the intensity and power of the selected
delay/reverb effect. The Level knob next to the delay/reverb Selection knob can be used to adjust the
presence of the effect.
Tap Function
On the left of the control panel, a Tap Tempo button can be found. This can be used to set the tempo at
which a selected effect reacts. The Tap Tempo can be tapped at least twice to change the speed at which

you want effects like the Tremolo or a selected Delay effect to react. This can be used to make an effect
react in time to a specific beat, for example, and it’s always possible to readjust the tempo of the effect by
pressing the Tap Tempo button again and at least twice.
Recharging the Built-In Battery
Since it comes fitted with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, the Kubo 15BBT can be used without the
need for mains power. For longer playing sessions without using mains power, the amplifier can be powered
by a USB powerbank or a USB power supply. A USB cable comes included so that extra power can be taken
from a USB power source. However, a USB power adapter does not come included and can be purchased
separately.
Fazley strongly advise using a USB power source that can provide a minimum of 2 A so that the battery is
quickly recharged. Weaker power sources (1 A or 500 mA) are likely to recharge the battery very slowly.
Use as a Battery-Powered Speaker
The combination of Bluetooth functionality and a built-in battery means that the Kubo 15BBT can also be
used as a portable battery-powered speaker. By pairing up a Bluetooth capable device like a smartphone,
music can be played wirelessly through the amplifier.
Line Out
A 6.35mm TS jack Line Out socket is also fitted to the amplifier. This can be used to connect a jack cable to
the Kubo 15BBT to connect it to a larger instrument amplifier or speaker cabinet. When connected, the
character of sound created by any selected amp/cab simulation is also sent through the output and can be
further amplified by any connected and compatible equipment. n this configuration, the Kubo 15BBT
operates as a kind of preamp. However, any Bluetooth signal will not be outputted via the Line Out and the
Kubo 15BBT speaker is not muted when the Line Out is used.
