Using the Fazley Kubo 10
To make the most of your new Fazley Kubo Bass 10 guitar amplifier, it’s important to carry out the following
steps.
Connecting
To connect your electric guitar with this amplifier, you will need a standard instrument or guitar cable. This is
usually a 6.35mm TS jackplug cable, with either straight or angled plugs. Unfortunately, this type of cable is
designed in such a way that it will always cause a minor short circuit when connected to the input of the
amplier. This usually causes behavior like crackling noises, but can also harm your instrument and amplifier.
Therefore it’s important to follow the following steps when connecting your instrument to this (or any other)
amplifier.
Connect the wall adapter to the DC 12V input of the bass guitar amplifier.
Plug the power adapter into a suitable wall outlet, but do not turn on the bass amplifier yet.
Make sure that the POWER switch of the amp is not activated, the LED indicating the power status should
be OFF.
Connect the instrument cable to your instrument.
Connect the cable to the guitar input of the bass amplifier.
Now switch on the power of the amp, the LED will light up.
If you wish to disconnect the instrument from your amplifier after use, follow the steps in reversed order:
Make sure that the power of the amp is disconnected, the LED indicating power should be OFF.
Remove the guitar cable plug from the bass amplifier.
Remove the guitar cable plug from your instrument.
Remove the power adapter from the wall outlet.
Remove the power adapter from the DC 12V power input of the bass guitar amplifier.
Controls
Ensure that the controls are set to normal levels. For the gain and volume knobs, this means pretty far
towards the minimum, while the tone controls for the bass and treble should initially be set to a 12 o’clock
position.’ Additional adjustments can always be made later.
Headphone Output
The Kubo Bass 10 is equipped with a headphone output to give you the ability to practice in silence. As soon
as you plug in a pair of headphones, the speaker is automatically muted. Thanks to a volume control, you
can dial in the preferred headphone volume.
Maximum Volume
Keep in mind that the Kubo Bass 10 is built as a practice amplifier and as such, is not suited for live use.
Since e tremely high volume can cause permanent damage, it’s advised to keep the volume within
acceptable levels to prevent clipping and (e tremely) distorted sound. If the volume doesn’t meet your
demands, it’s recommended to consider a more powerful amplifier.
3-Band Equaliser
Using the on-board 3-band equaliser, it’s possible to tweak the sound of your bass to perfection. Divided into
separate controls for the low (bass), mid and high (treble) frequencies, the equaliser should be used to tone
down the frequencies that are too dominant. Keep in mind however that sometimes, a little bit of overdrive in
the signal can also have a positive effect on the overall sound.
