Extreme caution is necessary when any fireplace is used by or near children
or invalids and whenever the fireplace is left operating and unattended.

Do not operate any heater after it malfunctions. Disconnect power at service
panel and have heater inspected by a reputable electrician before reusing.
This fireplace is hot when in use. To avoid burns,do not let bare skin touch
hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this fireplace. Keep
combustible material, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes and
curtains at least 3 feet. (0.9 meters) from the front of the fireplace and keep
them away from the sides and rear.

Read all instructions before using this fireplace.
Do not use this fireplace outdoors.
This fireplace is not intended for use in bathrooms,laundry areas or similar indoor locations. Never
position the fireplace where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
Do not run the power cord under carpeting. Do not cover the power cord with throw rugs,runners,
or the like. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange the power cord away from hig h
traffic areas or where it may be tri pped over.
To disconnect heater, turn controls to off,and turn off power to heater circuit at main disconnect
panel.
Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Always plug fireplaces directly into a wall
outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or reloadable power tap (outlet/power stri p).
To prevent a possible fire,do not block the fireplace`s air intakes or the exhaust in any manner. Do
not operate the fireplace on soft surfaces such as a bed where the openings may become blocked.
There is a thermostat protective device inside the fireplace. When the inner temperature exceeds
a predefined level or abnormal heating occurs,the thermostat protective device cuts off the power
supply to avoid damage to the fireplace or risk of fire.
Use this fireplace only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the
manufacturer and may cause fire,electrical shock,or injury.
Please read all of the information in this operating manual, including all safety, operating,
and maintenance information. When using electrical appliances, basic
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and
injury to persons, including the following:

Do not insert or allow foreign objects into the ventilation or exhaust
openings as this may cause an electric shock,fire,or damage the fireplace.
While in use, the top center of the fireplace can become hot to the touch and
may cause serious injury or burns. Always supervise small children around the
fireplace. Do not place any cloth,decorations,or otherwise obstruct the fireplace
outlet as this may cause a fire and serious injury may result.
The fireplace has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use
in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.

Grounding Instructions
This fireplace is for use on 120 volt circuits and
has a grounded plug. An adapter is available for
connecting three-blade grounding type plugs
to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug
extending from the adapter must be connected
to a permanent ground such as a properly
grounded outlet box.
The adapter should not be used if a three-slot
grounded receptacle is available.
CAUTION
Improper connection of the equi pment- grounding conductor can result
in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in
doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded.
Do not modify the plug provided with the product. If it will not fit the outlet,
have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown,
proper grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current
to flow and reduces the risk of electric shock. This product is equi pped
with a cord having an equi pment-grounding conductor and a grounding
plug. The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that
is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes
and ordinances.

1. Locating the Appliance
Your new electric fireplace may be installed virtually anywhere in your home. However,when choosing
a location,ensure that the general instructions for safety are followed.
For best result,install out of direct sunlig ht,water or very damp air.
Power supply service must be installed within proximity of electric fireplace prior to finishing avoiding
reconstruction.
2. Preparing a wall opening
Build an opening according to the dimensions outlined in the illustration below.

3. Remove the frame
The trim kit for the firebox
is attached by magnets,
pull to remove.
4. Installing fireplace
Install the fireplace into the
wall opening and secure with
6 mounting screws supplied.
Re-attach the trim kit to the
fireplace.

Clearance for air circulation beneath the fireplace insert is provided
by 4 felt feet.
CAUTION
Recessed installation
Do not install the fireplace insert directly on carpet or similar
surfaces which may restrict air flow.
Do not block the ventilation areas..
CAUTION
If installing the fireplace in a carpeted area,place a one-piece solid,
flat surface under the fireplace. Ensure that all feet sit securely
on this surface.

Installation into mantel
It is available to install the unit into a wood cabinet or mantel from the backside.
2. Remove the trim kit
The trim kit for the firebox is attached by magnets,pull to remove.

from the backside and secure
with 6 mounting screws
supplied.

Warning: This electric fireplace must be properly installed before it is used.
Note: The element retains heat after shut down. There is a built-in cool down period of 30 seconds
before the blower shuts off completely.
Note: To operate correctly,the remote control must be pointed toward the glass window view.
This electric fireplace can be operated by the CONTROL PANEL,or by the battery-powered REMOTE CONTROL.

Turn on or turn off the fireplace.
Select one of four brig htness levels.

1. Press once to activate the low heat setting.
2. Press the button a second time to activate the hig h
heat setting.
3. Press the button a third time to turn off the fireplace.
4. After turning on the fireplace,press this button
for 3 seconds to select the desired temperature setting.
Note: pressing the power button for 3 seconds
will toggle between °C and °F.
Pressing the button will cycle throug h the timer setting:
30 minutes to 5 hours.
Increase the heat input (remote control only).
Decrease the heat output (remote control only).
Pressing up and down arrow buttons Control
the sound of the firecracker. There are 3 settings:

When the heater is first turned on,a slig ht odor may be present.
This is normal and should not occur again unless the heater
is not used for a long period of time.
To improve operation,aim the remote control at the front of the fireplace.
DO NOT press the buttons too quickly.
Give the unit time to respond to each command.

NEVER dispose of batteries in fire. Failure to observe this precaution may result in an
explosion. Dispose of batteries at your local hazardous material processing center.
Temperature Limiting Control
This heater is equi pped with a Temperature Limiting Control. Should the heater reach an unsafe
temperature,the heater will automatically turn OFF. To reset:
1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Turn the ON/OFF switch on the CONTROL PANEL to OFF. Wait 5 minutes.
3. Inspect the fireplace to make sure no vents are blocked,or clogged with dust or lint. If they are,
use a vacuum to clean the vent areas.
4. With the POWER switch in the OFF position,plug the power cord back into the outlet.
5.If the problem continues,have your outlet and wiring inspected by a professional.

Troubleshooting

Unplug the fireplace and remove the back panel. Check
that the thermostat is plugged into the main circuit board.
If this does not solve the problem,contact customer
service for a replacement thermostat sensor.
The thermostat

Inspect the fireplace and check that the air inlets and
outlets are not blocked as this may cause overheating.
Normal operation will continue for 30 seconds before
shutting down.
Replace the remote batteries.
Adjust the temperature setting to ensure that the
thermostat is set hig her than the current room
temperature.

Ensure there are no obstructions within a minimum
distance of 6 inches from the air vents. Press the Power
button to restart the fireplace.
Press the remote control buttons with an even motion
and gentle pressure. Repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid
succession may cause the remote to malfunction.
After the slide out stops,press the power button
to restart to the fireplace.
Operate the remote at a distance less than 20 feet from
the front of the fireplace. Point the remote at the control
panel.

Care and Maintenance
The fan and flame generator motors are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life and require no
further lubrication. However,we recommend periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/fireplace.
Buff the trim using a soft cloth slig htly dampened with a citrus oil based product (available at
supermarkets and hardware stores). DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners. These
products will damage the metal trim.
Make sure the unit is turned OFF and unplugged,the heating element of the heater is cool before
cleaning the fireplace.
Any other servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel.
