CONNECT ON TO WATER SYSTEM
The water supply is regulated by a built-in solenoid valve.
Connect the supply pipe to inlet branch. Fit a shut-off valve,
pos. 2, in the water supply pipe.
Table 1. Connection sizes
To avoid clogging, a water filter, pos. 3 (with a max mesh of
500 μm), should be fitted between the shut-off valve and
the humidifier.
Connect the drain pipe, pos. 5, to the humidifier’s drain connec-
tion. This must be fitted with a cleanable water trap, pos. 4, and
must run without any reduction in diameter to a floor gulley. In
the case of model 072-090 two water traps coupled in parallel
should be used.
The shut-off valve, water trap and water filter are not supplied.
CONNECT ON TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
(Must be carried out by an authorized electrician.)
When wiring is carried out on the installation site the supply
cable must be run via an external high voltage switch to the
control box through the cable gland fitted in the casing. The con-
troller has an internal 2 A fuse. The pump(s) supplied is/are
always wired for 3 x 400 V. The pump motors meet protection
class S 33 (IP44) and insulation class B.

ITEMS TO CHECK WHEN MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
Water:
Determine the proportion of calcium and bicarbonate in the water,
and its pH level. This information can be obtained from a water
analysis or from the local water company. Enter the values obtai-
ned in chart 1 on page 4 to determine which zone the water can
be classified.
If the water quality is in zone 4 a water softener must be used.
Testing operation of humidifier:
– Turn on the external switch.
– Give the start signal to the humidifier by closing input TF1
(if this signal is interrupted the humidifier will stop and the water
will drain out).
– The tray should only start to fill with water when there is a need
for humidification, i.e. when the RH1 input closes.
Now check:
– that the humidifier starts to fill with water.
– that the pump starts and pumps water (input RH1 must be
closed). If there is no water flow, change the direction of rotation,
see figure 3.
– Preset the required supply water flow rate according to Table 3.
This is done by setting the adjustment screw on the flow con-
troller, see figure 4.
– that water sprays out of all the holes in the spray pipe(s).
Use a needle to clear any clogged holes. If the pipe is clogged
with dirt, remove the end plugs, pos. 16, fig. 1, clean the spray
pipe with a round brush, then flush it clean.
– that the supply flow stops when the water reaches level A.
– that the water bleed-off rate is correct. Open the outlet valve,
figure 2, by holding in the left arrow key on RC1. When the water
level has fallen below level B the valve should open fully and
the display should show ”Emptying”. When the water drops
below level C the water inlet should open, and after the preset
time the drain valve should start to close. When the water
reaches level C the pump should stop briefly. The tray will then
refill with water.
Droplet eliminator
The droplet eliminator must be installed in the correct direction of
the air flow, see the arrow on the droplet separator.
Table 3 gives the amount of water that the circulation pump must
be set to. It is not the water consumption.

WATER BLEED-OFF
Water consumption consists of the useful evaporation and
essential water bleed-off flow. This bleed-off flow is necessary
to reduce the concentration of salts in the circulating water.
If the salt concentration becomes too high, salts are precipitated
out in the humidifier fills, which will reduce the performance and
working life of the humidifier.
Chart 1 can be used to determine the appropriate bleed-off flow,
by determining zone for the current water quality. Then set the
appropriate bleed-off flow to ensure that the water in the tray is
kept clean it is recommended that it is drained and flushed once
every 24 hours (timing is preset at factory for 12.00–12.15).
If high demands are made on hygiene or if humidification require-
ments are high for an extended period, i.e. Δ x > 8 gram per kg
of air (90 % humidifier) or Δ x > 5 gram (60 % humidifier), it is re-
commended that an extra drainage and flushing cycle is added
in each 24-hour period. It may be necessary to extend the dilu-
tion time, see table 4. The value (T) is set using the display.

TO DETERMINE THE WATER QUALITY ZONE
The following information is needed to determine the water
quality zone:
• pH value
• Bicarbonate concentration (HCO3), mg/l
• Calcium concentration (Ca2+), mg/l
Information on the water can be obtained from the local water
works or by water analysis.
CHART 1
Zone 1 is the safe zone, where the water is soft or demi-
neralised.
Zone 2 is the lower part of the transition zone, where
the water is normally of drinking water quality.
Zone 3 is the upper part of the transition zone, where
the water is relatively hard.
Zone 4 is the precipitation zone, where the water is very
hard. The water must be partially demineralised so that
the result will be a quality that corresponds to zone 2–3.
The water should not however be demineralised so much
that it falls into zone 1.
EXAMPLE
Data from the local water works:
pH = 7,6
Bicarbonate 70 mg/l
Calcium 30 mg/l
Chart 1 indicates zone 1 (the safe zone)
Apart from the risk of lime precipitation, the concentrations
of chloride (Cl) and copper (Cu) must be checked.
The concentration in fresh water must not exceed 50 mg/l
for chloride and 0.02 mg/l for copper.
HOW TO USE THE CHART
Enter the chart on the right hand side with the bicarbonate
(A) rate and the Ph (B) and find the intersection (C). run a
line over the chart with the calcium rate (D) and find the
intersection in the applicable zone.

HUMIDIFIER, FOR CIRCULATED WATER
Installation and maintenance instruction
14
FläktGroup DC_8642GB 20180131_R0 Specifications are subject to alteration without notice
TO ZERO CALIBRATE THE ULTRASOUND SENSOR
The sensor is zeroed by FläktGroup with an empty water tray.
If it is necessary to change the zero calibration to suit future
needs this can be done by adjusting position of the sensor by
means of the lock nuts.
The sensor must reach working temperature before calibration,
i.e. the humidifier must be allowed to run for at least 15 minutes
after switching on. The display may give a reading that is out by
a few millimetres during the warming-up period.
ALARMS
There is a potential-free group alarm output inside the junction
box. The alarms that appear on the monitor screen are:
Alarm level
The water level is continuing to rise above the maximum level
”A”. The most likely reason is that the solenoid valve MV1 is not
closing. The alarm stops after five minutes.
The water level does not reach the maximum level ”A” during
filling. The most likely reason is that the solenoid valve MV1 is
not opening, the water tap is turned off or the drain valve SV1 is
not closing. The alarm stops after 30 minutes.
The sensor has detected unreasonable values, outside its
detection rage, is not correctly aimed at the water surface or
has stopped working. This fault is also shown by the sensor
LEDs both glowing red. The alarm stops after five minutes.
Alarm CP1-Q1 or CP2-Q2
Has been initiated because the overload protection for circula-
tion pump CP1 or CP2 has tripped.
Resetting alarm
Press the Esc key to reset an alarm.
