BATTERY WARNINGS
Do not open the battery compartment under any
circumstances while in water, in the presence of
moisture, or with wet hands.
Carefully inspect the battery and battery compart-
ment in a dry location before each use. Signs of
a compromised battery or battery compartment
include, but are not limited to: loose screws, loose
connector, cracks in housing, deformation, acid-
ic odor, and extremely hot temperature during
charging.
The seal of the battery compartment is a critical
component. If damaged contact FOIL for a re-
placement part. Never operate your FOIL with
a damaged seal.
Do not use or charge the battery if it was involved
in a crash or heavy impact. Contact us immedi-
ately to arrange for a replacement or repair if your
battery is damaged or you suspect the battery is
damaged under any circumstance.
If your FOIL battery is damaged and is in water,
safely remove it from water and store in a safe and
open area until it is dry, but do not use. Contact us
immediately to arrange for a replacement or repair.
Do not expose to temperatures above 140°F (60°C).
The battery must be used in temperatures from
32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C). Use of the battery in
environments above 113°F (45°C) can lead to a re
or an explosion. Use of the battery below 32°F (0°C)
can lead to permanent battery damage. Do not
store the FOIL fully charged or fully discharged for
a long period of time. For long term storage a
charge state of 60% is optimal. If storing for ex-
tended periods of time, make sure to charge the
pack at least once per year.
Do not drop or strike the battery. Do not place
heavy objects on the battery or charger.

HYDROFOIL WARNINGS
Operating a FOIL is an inherently dangerous
activity for which the operator assumes ALL RISKS.
Operating your FOIL can lead to impact with FOIL
or objects above or below the water. Such impacts
can cause serious injury or death. Falling on the
hydrofoil can cause serious injury or death.
Never handle the propeller while the battery is
connected under any circumstance.
The FOIL propulsion system includes a power-
ful spinning propeller. Keep body parts, hands,
ngers, feet, toes, hair, clothing, and other items
away from the spinning propeller. Contact with
the propeller will cause serious injury or death.
Do not remove the propeller guard or the pro-
peller when the battery is connected under any
circumstances. Exercise caution with the propel-
ler guard removed. Never touch the propeller in
the water under any circumstances.
Never operate the motor out of water for more than
8 seconds. Doing so can overheat and damage the
propeller and hydrofoil system.
Always wear an approved personal otation
device (PFD) when operating your FOIL. Always
wear a certied helmet when operating your FOIL.
Operating your FOIL without a helmet and otation
device can lead to serious injury or death.

Do not operate your FOIL in seaweed, trash, or con-

obstacles, wakes, waves, and marine life can affect
safe operation and lead to serious injury or death.
FOIL is not suitable for riding breaking waves in the
surf zone. Do so at your own risk. Carefully monitor

point of origin. Never ride your FOIL further from
shore than you are prepared to swim back.
Always operate FOIL a safe distance from other
watercraft, swimmers, surfers, and wildlife.
It may be necessary to obtain a license or permit
to use your FOIL in certain states, countries, or
jurisdictions. It is strongly recommended that
high speed operations only be applied when
ideal conditions exist and are permitted. Higher
speed operation requires a higher degree of skill
and increase the risk of severe injuries and death.

FOIL // OWNER’S MANUAL 17
FOIL is not designed for night-time operation and
should never be operated at night.
Do not sh from your FOIL.
NEVER operate your FOIL under the inuence of
any drugs, alcohol, or prescription medications that
have the ability to affect your reaction time, judg-
ment, coordination, or physical ability. Like driving
a car, driving a watercraft requires the operator to
be sober, attentive and alert.
Operating a watercraft while intoxicated or under
the inuence of drugs is not only dangerous, but
it is also a Federal offense carrying a signicant
penalty. These laws are vigorously enforced. The
use of drugs and alcohol, singly or in combina-
tion, decreases reaction time, impedes judgment,
impairs vision, and inhibits your ability to safely
operate a watercraft.
NEVER start your FOIL when any swimmers are
in the water nearby.
NEVER operate your FOIL from anyplace but
on the craft itself.
Remember that sun, wind, fatigue, or illness

RIDING
YOUR
FOIL
Designed with the rider in mind, FOIL rep-
resents our passion to deliver the e-foil expe-
rience to everyone. Taking a complicated tech-
nology and simplifying it to its most essential
parts has not been easy. With the Mavericks
direct-drive motor, FOIL was built from the gro-
und up to be incredibly powerful and responsive.
By using carbon ber composites and removing
the gearbox found in other e-foils, we were able to
increase reliability and improve efciency. FOIL em-
bodies the essence of what a board sport should be.

NAVIGATING YOUR REMOTE
Every FOIL board comes with a wireless Bluetooth
remote control which is required for operation. This
remote is custom-designed to be simple and intui-
tive to use. Most of the information you’ll need can
be found displayed on the screen of the remote.
The remote charges wirelessly by attaching mag-
netically to the cradle on the side of your FOIL bat-
tery pack. Once the controller is attached, conrm
charging connection is successful on the display of
the remote.
Your FOIL remote will arrive paired with your
battery but if you have multiple FOIL batteries,
you will need to ensure that your remote is paired
with the battery you intend to use before each
use. To pair your controller, simply place it on the
charging cradle and wait for the LCD screen to
show a message acknowledging that the pairing
was successful. If you do not see this message,
the controller is already paired with that battery
and you are ready to continue with the standard
operating procedure.
