Tools and Hardware Required
Phillips head screwdriver and adjustable wrench.

This equipment is intended for installation only by technically qualied personnel.
Failure to install it in compliance with national and local electrical codes and
within Franklin Electric’s recommendations may result in electrical shock or re
hazard, unsatisfactory performance, and equipment failure.
s WARNING
!
Serious or fatal electric shock may result from failure to connect the Inline System
to the service entrance ground. Also ground metal plumbing and all other metal
near the Inline System. When grounding these components, use a wire no smaller
than the power supply wires from the circuit breaker to the Inline System. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect power before working on or around
the water system.
CAPACITORS INSIDE THE INLINE SYSTEM CONTROLLER CAN STILL HOLD
LETHAL VOLTAGE EVEN AFTER POWER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED.
ALLOW 5 MINUTES FOR DANGEROUS INTERNAL VOLTAGE TO DISCHARGE
BEFORE REMOVING ACCESS PANEL.
This pump has not been investigated for use in swimming pools or marine areas.
Purpose
Thermostat kit is used to replace the external thermostat on the Inline 1100/CP.
The kit contains all of the parts and components necessary to completely replace the
existing external thermostat.

2. Above the suction port, locate two small screw holes.
Installation Procedure
1. Carefully open package and remove the thermostat, lock washers, and screws.

5. Open the access cover.
4. Route the thermostat wire across the top of the pump, running it between the
drives, heat sink ns.
3. Use the two supplied lock washers and screws to ax the thermostat to the pump
using 4 in/lbs (0.45 N-m) of torque.

6. Loosen the small strain relief.
7. Route the thermostat cable through the small strain relief with the pressure
sensor wire.
8. Attach the wires to terminal labeled “Shut-o Sensor”. The red wire goes on the
outside left terminal and the black wire goes to the inside right terminal.
Use 4 in/lbs (0.45 N-m) of torque.

10. Replace the drive’s access cover. Use 12.5 in/lbs (1.41 N-m) of torque.
9. Tighten the small strain relief with 50 in/lbs. (5.65 N-m) of torque.
