Bitte lesen Sie die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise aufmerksam durch, bevor Sie das
G&D-Produkt in Betrieb nehmen. Die Hinweise helfen Schäden am Produkt zu
vermeiden und möglichen Verletzungen vorzubeugen.
Halten Sie diese Sicherheitshinweise für alle Personen griffbereit, die dieses Pro-
dukt benutzen werden.
Befolgen Sie alle Warnungen oder Bedienungshinweise, die sich am Gerät oder in
dieser Bedienungsanleitung befinden.
, Vorsicht vor Stromschlägen
Um das Risiko eines Stromschlags zu vermeiden, sollten Sie das Gerät nicht
öffnen oder Abdeckungen entfernen. Im Servicefall wenden Sie sich bitte an
unsere Techniker.
, Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker des Geräts vor Installationsarbeiten
Stellen Sie vor Installationsarbeiten sicher, dass das Gerät spannungsfrei ist.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker oder die Spannungsversorgung am Gerät ab.
! Lüftungsöffnungen nicht verdecken
Lüftungsöffnungen verhindern eine Überhitzung des Geräts. Verdecken Sie
diese nicht.
! Stolperfallen vermeiden
Vermeiden Sie bei der Verlegung der Kabel Stolperfallen.
! Geerdete Spannungsquelle verwenden
Betreiben Sie dieses Gerät nur an einer geerdeten Spannungsquelle.
! Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das G&D-Netzteil
Betreiben Sie dieses Gerät nur mit dem mitgelieferten oder in der Bedienungs-
anleitung aufgeführten Netzteil.
! Betreiben Sie das Gerät ausschließlich im vorgesehenen Einsatzbereich
Die Geräte sind ausgelegt für eine Verwendung im Innenbereich. Vermeiden
Sie extreme Kälte, Hitze oder Feuchtigkeit.

Funktion
Funktion
Der USB-CPU erlaubt den Anschluss einer PS/2-Tastatur und einer PS/2-Maus an
PCs oder andere G&D Geräte, welche nicht mit PS/2-Schnittstellen, aber mit
USB-Ports ausgestattet ist.
Um den Anschluss der PS/2-Geräte in einem solchen Fall zu erreichen, werden diese
an den USB-CPU angeschlossen. Das Gerät empfängt die eingehenden Signale der
PS/2-Tastatur und der PS/2-Maus und gibt diese über die USB-B Schnittstelle an
einen PC oder ein anders G&D-Gerät weiter.

Installation
Installation
Der USB-CPU wird, gemäß der folgenden Anleitung, zwischen den PS/2-Geräten
und dem USB-Port eines PCs oder eines anderen G&D Geräts installiert:
1. Verbinden Sie die PS/2-Tastatur mit der Schnittstelle Keyb. PS/2 an der Frontseite.
2. Verbinden Sie die PS/2-Maus mit der Schnittstelle Mouse PS/2 an der Frontseite.
3. Verwenden Sie das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel (USB-A auf USB-B) um die Schnitt-
stelle USB K/M - CPU In auf der Rückseite mit einem PC oder einem anderen
G&D Gerät zu verbinden.
4. Der USB-CPU kann den zum Betrieb erforderlichen elektrischen Strom über den
USB High-Power (500 mA) Port beziehen. Wird das Gerät mit einem solchen
Port verbunden, ist der Einsatz des Netzteils nicht erforderlich.
Wird der USB-CPU hingegen an einen USB Low-Power (100 mA) Port ange-
schlossen, ist der Einsatz des Netzteils erforderlich. Schließen Sie in diesem Fall
das Netzteil an die Schnittstelle Power auf der Rückseite an.

Please read the following safety guidelines attentively before you start running the
G&D product. The guidelines help to avoid damage to the product and prevent
possible violations.

Observe all warnings or operating instructions, which are putted on the device or
stated in these operating instructions.

To avoid the risk of electric shock, you should not open the device or remove
the covers. If service is required, please contact our technicians.
, Disconnect the main power plug or the power supply before installation
Before installation, ensure that the device has been disconnected from the
power source. Disconnect the main power plug or the power supply of the
device.
! Do not cover the ventilation openings
Ventilation openings prevent the device from overheating. Do not cover them.
! Avoid the risk of tripping over cables
Ensure that there is no risk of tripping over cables.
! Only use a grounded electrical outlet
Operate this device using a grounded electrical outlet only.
! Use only the provided AC adapter
Operate this device using only the provided AC adapter or those listed in the
operating manual.
! Operate the device in the intended area of application only.
This device has been designed for indoor use. Do not expose it to extreme
cold, heat, or humidity.

Description of operation
Description of operation
The USB-CPU allows connecting a PS/2 keyboard and a PS/2 mouse to a PC
which is equipped with USB ports only.
In order to achieve this, the PS/2 keyboard and the PS/2 mouse will be connected
with the USB-CPU which converts the interfaces to USB type B. By the use of an
USB cable, the USB-CPU and the attached PS/2 devices can be connected to an
USB type A interface of a PC or a G&D device.

Installation
Installation
The USB-CPU is installed, in accordance with the following instructions, between
the PS/2 devices and the USB port of a PC or a G&D device:
1. Connect the PS/2 keyboard to the interface Keyb. PS/2 at the front side.
2. Connect the PS/2 mouse to the interface Mouse PS/2 at the front side.
3. Use the USB cable (A type jack to B type jack) to connect a PC or a G&D device to
the interface USB K/M - CPU In at the rear side.
4. The USB-CPU uses the bus-power of an USB high power (500 mA) port to work.
If you connect the USB-CPU to such a high power port, there is no power supply
pack necessary.
If you connect the USB-CPU to an USB low power (100 mA) port, the use of the
power supply pack is necessary. In this case, connect the power supply pack to the
interface Power at the rear side.
