Important: Read these instructions before use carefully.
Familiarise yourself with the appliance before connecting it to its gas
container. Keep these instructions for future reference.
ONLY USE IN WELL-VENTILATED AREAS. CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD―USING THIS APPLIANCE IN
AN ENCLOSED SPACE MAY CAUSE DEATH. DO NOT USE IN CARAVANS, TENTS, MARINE CRAFT, CARS,
MOBILE HOMES OR SIMILAR LOCATIONS. Use on non-ammable surfaces only.
Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause injury or property
damage. Read the instructions thoroughly before installing or servicing this are.

FOR YOUR SAFETY
1. The are is not designed for any kind of cooking
purpose.
2. Do not store or use gasoline or other ammable
vapour and liquids in the vicinity of this or any
other appliance.
INSTALLATION
2. The are must be placed on level ground with
adequate footing and be readily accessible.
a. The appliance area must be kept clear and free
of combustible materials, gasoline and other
ammable vapours and liquids.
b. Gas orices and the burner must be kept clear
of dirt and cobwebs. Flow of combustion and
ventilation air through the perforated portions
of the are must not be obstructed.
c. Any cleaning agent used on the are should be
of a non-combustible and non-corrosive nature.
3. Proper clearance from combustible materials must
be maintained at all times.
The minimum clearance from combustibles is as
follows:
Sides 500 mm
Top 600 mm
Combustible materials are considered to be wood,
compressed paper, plant bres, plastic, Plexiglas or
other materials capable of being ignited and burned.
Such materials shall be considered combustible
even thoughame proofed, re-retardant treated or
plastered.
Additional clearance may be required for glass,
painted surfaces and other materials which may be
damaged by radiant or convection heat.
1. Children and adults should be alert to the
high surface temperature of areas both
on and around the are when it is being
operated. It is important to also be aware
that it will take some time for the are to
cool down after use.
2. Children should be carefully supervised
when they are in the area of the are.
3. DO NOT SPRAY AEROSOLS IN THE
VICINITY OF THIS APPLIANCE WHILE
IT IS IN OPERATION.
IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES
1. Remove appliance from carton and remove any
transit protection material.

OPERATION
Fitting of the cartridge (available separately)
This Flare works best with GASMATE butane/propane
mix cartridges. Alternatively, a replaceable citronella
scented cartridge is available.
Only use canisters certied to (EN417) with 80%
butane/20% propane, or 75% butane/25% propane
fuel mix. IT MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO ATTEMPT TO FIT
OTHER TYPES OF GAS CARTRIDGES with a different
fuel mix and/or connection types to this appliance.
Check that seals between the appliance and the gas
canister are in place and the sealing gasket is in good
condition before connecting the gas canister. Do not
use this appliance if it has damaged or worn seals. Do
not use this appliance if it is leaking, damaged or does
not operate properly.
Remove the cap protecting the cartridge valve and
screw onto the Flare.
IGNITION & OPERATION
Open the gas cock slightly in an
anti-clockwise direction (“+”) and
hold a lighted match near the
burner.
To achieve the desired setting, turn
the knob anti-clockwise towards
(“+”) in order to increase the ame.
Turn the knob clockwise towards (“-”) in order to
decrease the ame.
Warning: Do not move the appliance during use.
If the ame becomes unstable or noisy or if gas can
be smelt, seen or heard escaping form the valve,
turn off appliance and disconnect canister. If there
is a leak from your appliance (smell of gas) and you
cannot stop the gas ow, remove the appliance to
a well-ventilated location away from any ignition
source. Check for leaks using soapy water. Do not
try to detect leaks using a ame. Any work or repair
of the Flare must be performed by qualied service
personnel.
SHUTDOWN
Turn the knob clockwise towards (“-”) and hand
tighten to ensure the gas is off.
CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Gas cartridges shall be changed in a well-ventilated
location. Preferably outside away from people and any
sources of ignition, such as naked ames, pilot ames,
electric heaters/equipment.
Make sure that the cartridge is empty by shaking it
lightly. If the cartridge is still useable, you will hear a
liquid sound inside.
Before replacing the cartridge, make sure that the gas
cock is closed and that the burner is off and cold.
Dispose of the empty cartridge in a safe manner.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the body of your Flare by using a cotton cloth
soaked in soapy hot water. Never use abrasive or
ammable cleaning products. To clean the burner, use
a soft brush.
Servicing of this appliance is generally not required.
Replacement is advised if any parts are identied as
worn or the Flare is not operating as intended.
Injector Size: 0.218mm.
STORAGE OF THE FLARE
When the Flare is not used it must be stored in a
vertical position and in a suitable area to protect it
from any risk of deterioration. Keep it in a cool, well
ventilated area out of sunlight and out of reach of
children.
Remove the butane cartridge when not in use.
Any indoor storage shall comply with AS/NZS1596.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Sitro Group Australia Pty. Ltd and Aber warrants the Gasmate Ceramic Outdoor Flare to be free from defects
in material and workmanship under normal conditions of use in a commercial application for a period of 90
days from date of purchase and in a residential application for a period of 1 year. Any work or repair of the
Flare must be performed by qualied service personnel. In most cases your retailer will handle the warranty
procedure for you in your area.
