contact with the moving parts ofthe ejector
mechanism, or with the heating element that
releasesthe cubes.Donot placefingers or hands
on the automatic icemaking mechanism while the
refrigerator isplugged in.
Unplugthe refrigerator beforecleaning and making

} Setting either or both controls to O(off) does not
remove power to the light circuit.
} Donot refreezefrozen foods which have thawed

Before You Throw Away Your Old
Refrigerator or Freezer:
Takeoff the doors,
Leavethe shelvesin place sothat children may not
easilyclimb inside.
Refrigerants
All refrigeration products contain refrigerants,
which under federal law must be removed prior to
product disposal. If you are getting rid of an old
refrigeration product, check with the company
handling the disposal about what to do.

USEOFEXTENSIONCORDS
Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend against
the use of an extension cord.
However,ifyou must usean extension cord, it isabsolutely necessarythat it be a UL-listed(inthe United States)
or a CSAcertified (inCanada),3-wire grounding type appliance extension cord having a grounding type plug
and outlet and that the electrical rating of the cord be 15 amperes (minimum)and 120 volts.

HOW TOCONNECTELECTRICITY
Do not, under any c/mumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord.
Forpersonal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.
Thepower cord of this appliance isequipped with a 3-
prong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard
3-prong (grounding)wall outlet to minimize the
possibility of electric shock hazardfrom this
appliance.
Havethe wall outlet and circuit checked bya qualified
electrician to make surethe outlet isproperly
grounded.
Where a standard 2-prong wall outlet isencountered,
it isyour personalresponsibility and obligation to
have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong
wall outlet.
Therefrigerator should always be plugged into its
own individual electrical outlet which hasa voltage
rating that matches the rating plate.
Thisprovides the best performance and alsoprevents
overloading housewiring circuits which could cause a
fire hazard from overheated wires.
Neverunplug your refrigerator by pulling on the
power cord.Always grip plug firmly and pull straight
out from the outlet.
Repairor replaceimmediately all power cords that
have become frayed or otherwise damaged. Donot
usea cord that showscracks or abrasion damage
along its length or at either end.
When moving the refrigerator away from the wall, be
careful not to roll overor damage the power cord.

NOTE:The refrigermtor isshipped with protective film covering the temperature controls.
If this film wos not removed during installution, remove it now.
The temperature controls are preset in the factory at 37°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for
the freezer compartment. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize to the preset recommended
settings.
The temperature controls can display both the SETtemperature as well as the actual temperature in the
refrigerator and freezer. The actual temperature may vary slightly from the SETtemperature based on
usage and operating environment.
Setting either or both controls to OFF stops cooling in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments,
but does not shut off electrical power to the refrigerator.

Changing the Temperature for Control Styles A &
For Controls on the Door Models:
FIG. "A"Tochange the temperature, pressand releasethe
WARMERor COLDERpad.TheACTUALTEMPlightwill come
on and the display will showthe actual temperature. To
change the temperature, tap eitherthe WARMERorCOLDER
pad until the desiredtemperature is displayed.
FIG. "B" Tovisualize the real temperature press and release
the ACTUALTEMPpad.Thedisplay will show the actual
temperature for !0 seconds.
Tochange the temperature, tap either the WARMERor
COLDERpaduntil the desired temperature isdisplayed.The
SETTEMPlightwill come on during this process.
For Controls Inside the Refrigerator:
Opening the door displaysthe actual temperature. To change
the temperature, presseither the WARMERorCOLDERtouch
pads until the desired temperature isdisplayed.

Oncethe desired temperature hasbeen set, the temperature
display will return to the actual refrigerator and freezer
temperatures after 5 seconds.Severaladjustments may be
required. Eachtime you adjust controls,allow 2/4hoursfor the
refrigerator to reach the temperature you have set.
Toturn OFFcooling system,tap the WARMERpadfor either
refrigerator or freezer until the display shows OFF.
Toturn ONcooling system, tap the COLDERpadfor either
the refrigerator or freezer twice. Thedisplay will show the
preset temperature settings of 37°Fforrefrigerator and O°Ffor
freezer.
Turningthe cooling system OFFstopsthe cooling to
refrigerator, but it does not shut off the electrical power.
Changing the Temperature for Control Style C

totheHOMEscreenandshowthesettemperaturesunderneath
theactualtemperaturedisplayforseveralseconds.
Severaladjustmentsmayberequired.Eachtimeyouadjustthe
controls,allow2/4hoursfortherefrigeratorto reachthe
temperatureyouhaveset.
ToturnOFFcoolingsystem,tapthe WARMERpadfor either
refrigeratororfreezeruntilthedisplayshowsOFF
ToturnONcoolingsystem,taptheCOLDERpadforeitherthe
refrigeratororfreezertwice.Thedisplaywillshowthepreset
temperaturesettingsof37°Fforrefrigeratorand 0°Fforfreezer.
Turningthecoolingsystemoff stopsthecoolingto refrigerator,but
itdoesnotshutofftheelectricalpower.

until display flashes and beeps.Thentap the freezer WARMER
pad until display shows OFF.
Toturn ONcooling system, tap the refrigerator COLDER
button twice. Thedisplay will show the refrigerator and freezer
set temperatures.
Turningthe cooling system off stopsthe cooling to
refrigerator, but it does not shut off the electrical power.

How It Works
TurboCoo!rapidlycools the refrigerator
compartment in order to more quickly
coolfoods. Use TurboCoolwhen (]dding (]
I(]rge(]mount of food to the refriger(]tor
comportment, putting (]w(]y foods (]fter they
h(]ve been sitting out (]t room temper(]ture
or when putting (]w(]y worm leftovers.It c(]n
(]lsobe usedif the refriger(]tor h(]s been
without power for (]n extended period.
Once(]ctiv(]ted,the compressor willturn on
immedi(]tely (]nd the f(]ns will cycleon (]nd
off (]t high speed (]s needed for eight hours.
The compressor will continue to run until the
refriger(]tor comportment coolsto
(]pproxim(]tely 34% (Z°C),then it will cycleon
(]ndoff to m(]int(]in this setting.After 8 hours,
or if TurboCoo/is pressed (]g(]in,the
refriger(]tor comportment will return to
the origin(]l setting.
How to Use
Press TurboCool.The refriger(]tor
temper(]ture displ(]ywill show be.
After TurboCooliscomplete, the
refriger(]tor comp(]rtment will return
to the origin(]l setting.
NOTES: Therefriger(]tor temper(]ture
c(]nnot be ch(]nged during
TurboCool.
Thefreezer temper(]ture isnot
(]ffected during TurboCool.
When opening the refriger(]tor door
during TurboCoo/,the f(]ns
will continue to run ifthey h(]ve

Overtime, moisture c(]n form on the front
surf(]ce of the refriger(]tor c(]binet (]nd c(]use
rust. If moisture does(]ppe(]r on the front
surf(]ce of the refriger(]tor c(]binet, turn off
the EnergyS(]verfe(]ture by pressing (]nd
rele(]singthe ENERGYSAVERp(]d on the
control p(]nel.

Water Filter Cartridge
Thewater filter cartridge is located in the back
upper right corner of the refrigerator
compartment.
When to Replace the Filter
Thereisa replacement indicator light for the
water filter cartridge on the temperature display.
Thislight will turn orange to tell you that you
needto replace the filter soon.Thefilter
cartridge should be replaced when the
replacement indicator light turns red or ifthe
flow of water to the dispenseror icemaker
decreases.
Installing the Filter Cartridge
0 Ifyou are replacingthe cartridge,first
remove the old one by slowlyturning itto
the left. DONOTpull down on the cartridge.
A small amount of water may drip down.
ACAUTION:flair has been trapped
in the system,thefilter cartridge may be _ected
asit isremoved. Usecaution when removing.
Removethe protective foil from the end of
the cartridge.

Fillthe replacement cartridge with water
from the tap to allow for better flow from the
dispenser immediately after installation.
Lining up the arrow on the cartridge and the
cartridge holder,slowly rotate the cartridge
clockwiseuntil it stops.When the cartridge is
properly installed,you will feel it "click" as it
locksinto place.Do not overtighten.
Runi_/2gallons (about3 minutes)from the
dispenser to clearthe system and prevent
sputtering. See ToUsetheDispensersection.
Pressand hold the RESETWATERFILTEl?
pad (on some models)for 3 seconds.
NOTE:A newly-installed water filter cartridge
may cause water to spurt from the dispenser.
Filter Bypass Plug
Youmust usethe filter bypass plug when a
replacement filter cartridge isnot available. The
icemakerwill not operate without the filter or
filter bypassplug.
Replacement Filters:

Rearranging the Shelves

Refrigerator Compartment
Some models have wire shelves
that can be adjusted in the same
manner.
Toremove:
0 Remove(]11items from the shelf.
0 Tiltthe shelf up (]t the front.
Liftthe shelf up (]t the b(]ck(]nd bring the
shelf out.
Toreplace:
Whiletilting the shelf up,insert the top
hook (]t the b(]ckof the shelf in (]slot on
the tr(]ck.
Lowerthe front of the shelf until the
bottom of the shelf locksinto pl(]ce.
Spiliproof Shelves (on,som_modal,s)
Spillproof shelvesh(]ve speci(]ledgesto helpprevent spillsfrom dripping to lower shelves.To
remove or repl(]cethe shelves,see RearrangingtheShelves.
Slide-Out Spillproof Shelf (onsom_modals)
Theslide-out spillproof shelf (]llowsyou
to re(]ch items stored behind others.Thespeci(]l
edges(]redesigned to help prevent spillsfrom
dripping to lower shelves.
To remove:
Remove(]11items from shelf.
Slidethe shelf out until it stops.
Liftthe front edge of the shelf until the
centr(]lt(]bs (]re (]bovethe front b(]r.
Continue pulling the shelf forw(]rd
until it c(]n be removed.
Toreplace:
Pl(]cethe re(]rshelf tabs just in front of the
centr(]l notches on the shelf fr(]me.
Slidethe shelf in until the centr(]lt(]bs (]re
slightly behind the front b(]r.
Lowerthe shelf into pl(]ce until it is
horizont(]l(]nd slidethe shelf in.
Make sure that the shelfsits flat after
reinstallation and doesnt move f)_ee_from side
to side,
Make surej/ou push the shelves all the way in
before j/ou close the door,

Drop Down Shelf(on ,somemodeI,sJ
The drop-down shelf gives you the use of (]nother full-size shelf when you need
extr(] stor(]ge. It conveniently folds b(]ck out of the w(]y when not in use, giving you
room for stor(]ge of I(]rger items.
To use drop-down shelf:
Pullforw(]rd (]nd down to drop the shelf into pl(]ce.
Pullforw(]rd while lifting up to pl(]ce the shelf out of the w(]y.

About the shelves and bins.
Adjustable Bins on the Door
Adjustable bins can easily be carried from
refrigerator to work area.
Toremove: Lift bin straight up,then
pull out.
Toreplace or relocate: Slidein the binjust
above the molded door supports, and push
down. The bin will lock in place.
Thesnugger helpsprevent tipping, spilling
or slidingof small items stored on the door
shelf.Grip the finger hold near the rear of the
snugger and move it to fit your needs.
Non-Adjustable Bins on the Door
Toremove: Lift the bin straight up,then
pull out.
Toreplace: Engagethe bin in the molded
supports on the door and pushdown.
It will lock in place.
Adjustable Divider in Freezer Basket
Thefreezer basket has a divider that can be
both repositioned or removed.
Toremove: Pullthe divider forward until the
rear locating tabs are out of the slots.Turn
the divider slightlyto the sideto releasethe
front locating tabs and lift out,
Toreplace:Turn the divider slightlyto one
sidesothe tabs on the front fit into the vent
slotson the basket. Positionthe divider so
the back locating tabs snap into place in the
back vent slots.
Toreposition: Removethe divider.Slidethe
divider left or right to the desired location and
replace asinstructed above.
Optional Freezer Caddy
Theoptional freezer caddy fits over the front
edge of the bottom freezer basket and can
be removed or added as needed.
Toremove: Lift the freezer caddy up.
Toreplace: Lowerthe freezer Caddy ensuring
the hook fits over the front edge ofthe
bottom freezer basket. Pushdown to secure.

Non-Adjustable Beverage Rack
Toremove: Lift the rack straight up,then pull
out.
Toreplace: Engagethe rack in the molded
supports on the door and pushdown.
It will lock in place.

Fruit and Vegetable Crisper
Excesswater that may accumulate in the
bottom of the drawers or under the drawers
should be wiped dry.
Adjustable Humidity Crisper {onsomemodels)
Slidethe control all the way to the
HIGHsetting to provide high humidity
recommended for most vegetables.
Slidethe control all the way to the LOW
setting to provide lower humidity levels
recommended for most fruits.
Location of controls may vary, but function remain the same.
Adjustable Temperature Dell Pan {onsome model.s)
Slidethe control all the way to the leftfor the
coldesttemperature.

How to Remove and Replace the Deft Pan
Toremove:
0 Removethe fruit and vegetable drawers.
0 Pullthe drawer out to the stop position.
Toreplace:
Hake sure all four swing locksare in the
unlock position.
Placethe sidesof the drawer into the
drawer supports, making surethe swing
locksfit on the drawer slots.
Lockall four swing locksby rotating them
to the lock position.
0 Liftthe lidto access the/4 swing locks.
Rotateall four swing locksto the unlock
position.
Liftthe front of the drawer up and out.
Lowerthe lid and slidein the drawer.
Replacethe fruit and vegetable drawers.
