•Use only attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
•Always shut down power supply when not in use to save energy and for prolonged lifespan.
•Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary
considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if
exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a period of time. The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the permissible noise level exposures shown in the
following chart. According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of these permissible limits could result in
some hearing loss. To ensure against potentially dangerous exposure to high sound pressure levels, it is
recommended that all persons exposed to equipment capable of producing high sound pressure levels
use hearing protectors while the equipment is in operation. Ear plugs or protectors in the ear canals or
over the ears must be worn when operating the equipment in order to prevent permanent hearing loss if
exposure is in excess of the limits set forth here:

1. GAIN CONTROL
This control adjusts the sensitivity of both
MIC (XLR) and LINE (¼” TRS) inputs. Both
the MIC and LINE inputs are electronically
balanced, and are located on the rear
connector panel.
The -60 to -16 scale indicates the MIC input
adjustment level. The –34 to +10 scale
indicates the LINE input adjustment level.
The EXO US GAIN structure employs the
revolutionary GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.®
Audiophile PreAmps technology.
2. PEAK LED
The PEAK LE detects the peak level of
the post-equalizer signal, and lights up red
when the level reaches 3dB below the
clipping level. On stereo input channels
equipped with XLR (female) MIC inputs
(Channels 9/10 and 11/12), the PEAK LE
detects both the post-equalizer and post-
preamp peak levels, and lights up red if
either of these levels reaches 3dB below
the clipping level.
3. HIGH PASS FILTER (HPF) SWITCH
This switch toggles the HPF ON or OFF. To
turn the HPF ON, press the switch in. The
HPF cuts frequencies below 80Hz.

4. EQUALIZER (EQ)
MONAURAL CHANNELS (CHANNELS 1 TO 8):
This three-band equalizer adjusts the channel’s high, mid, and low frequency bands. Setting the knob to the
position produces a flat (linear) frequency response. Turning the knob to the right boosts the
corresponding frequency band, while turning to the left cuts the band. The following table shows the EQ type,
base frequency, and maximum cut/boost for each of the three bands.

STEREO CHANNELS (CHANNELS 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16):
This four-band equalizer adjusts the channel’s high, hi-mid, lo-mid, and low frequency bands. Setting the
knob to the position produces a flat (linear) frequency response. Turning the knob to the right boosts the
corresponding frequency band, while turning to the left cuts the band. The following table shows the EQ type,
base frequency, and maximum cut/boost for each of the four bands.

LOW Shelving 100Hz
5. AUX1 / AUX2 CONTROLS
The AUX1 knob controls the signal level that the channel sends to the AUX1 bus; the AUX2 knob controls the
signal level to the AUX2 bus. These knobs should generally be set close to the position.
If you are using stereo channels, the signals from the L (O ) and R (EVEN) channels are mixed and sent
to the AUX1 and AUX2 buses.
NOTES: These controls allow you to output the signal to the AUX buses regardless
of the setting of the ST switch [9].
6. PRE SWITCH
Selects whether the pre-fader or the post-fader signal is fed to the AUX2 bus. If you set the switch ON
(pressed in), the mixing console sends the pre-fader signal (the signal prior to passage through channel
fader [12]), to the AUX2 bus, so that AUX2 output is not affected by the fader. If you set the switch OFF (out
position) the mixing console sends the post-fader signal to the AUX2 bus.
NOTES: This switch applies to AUX2 only. The signal to the AUX1 bus always
passes through the channel fader first.

7. EFFECT CONTROL
Adjusts the level of the signal sent from the channel to the EFFECT bus. Note that the signal level will also
vary according to the setting of the channel fader.
If you are using stereo channels (Channels 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16), the signals from the L (O ) and R
(EVEN) channels are mixed and then sent to the EFFECT bus.
8. PAN CONTROL (CHANNELS 1 TO 8), PAN/BAL CONTROL (CHANNELS 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16)
The PAN control determines the positioning of the channel’s signal on the GROUP 1-2/3-4 buses or on the
ST (STEREO) L and R buses.
The BAL control knob sets the balance between left and right channels. Signals into to the L input (O
channel) feed to the GROUP 1/3 bus or to the ST (STEREO) L bus; signals into the R input (EVEN channel)
feed to the GROUP 2/4 bus or the ST (STEREO) R bus.
NOTES: On channels where this knob provides both PAN and BAL controls (9/10,
11/12, 13/14, 15/16), the knob operates as a PAN control if you are inputting through
the MIC input or into the L (MONO) input only, and operates as a BAL control if you
are inputting into both L and R inputs.
9. ST SWITCH
This switch assigns the channel’s signal to the ST (STEREO) L and R buses. To send the signal to the
STEREO bus, set the switch ON by pressing it in. The switch lights up (amber) to indicate that it is ON.
10. PFL (PRE-FADER LISTEN) SWITCH
This switch lets you monitor the channel’s pre-fader signal. To set the switch ON, press it in. The switch lights
up (amber) in the ON mode. When the switch is ON, the mixing console outputs the channel’s pre-fader
signal to the PHONES and C-R OUT connectors, for monitoring.
11. GROUP SWITCHES
Use these switches to send the channel's signal to the GROUP 1-2 and/or GROUP 3-4 buses. Setting the
switch on (pressed in) causes the signal to be sent to the corresponding group buses.
NOTES: These switches allow you to assign the signal to either or both groups
regardless of the setting of the ST switch [9].

12. CHANNEL FADER
Adjusts the output level of the channel's input signal. Use these faders to adjust the volume balance among
the various channels.
NOTES: To reduce noise, set the fader sliders for unused channels all the way
down. Always ensure that you work with clean sources.

17. RETURN (AUX1, AUX2, ST CONTROLS)
AUX1 / AUX2 CONTROLS
Adjust the level of the mixed L/R signals sent from the RETURN connectors (L (MONO) and R) to the AUX1
and AUX2 buses.
ST CONTROL
Adjusts the level of the signals sent from the RETURN connectors (L (MONO) and R) to the STEREO bus.
NOTES:
If you supply a signal to the RETURN L (MONO) input connector only, the
mixing console outputs the identical signal to both the L and R STEREO buses.
18. 2TR IN CONTROL
Adjusts the level of the signals sent from the 2TR IN input connectors to the STEREO bus.
19. PHANTOM +48V SWITCH
This switch toggles phantom power ON and OFF. If you set the switch ON, the mixing console supplies C
+48V power to all channels (Channels 1 to 8, 9/10, 11/12) that provide MIC (XLR female) input connectors.
Set this switch ON (pressed in, red LE on switch lights up) when using one or more condenser
microphones.
WARNING: Be sure to leave this switch OFF (switch not pressed in) when you are
not using phantom power. Humming or damage may result if you connect to an
unbalanced device or to an ungrounded transformer while this switch is ON (pressed
in, red LE on switch lights up). But note that the switch may be left ON without
problem when connecting to balanced dynamic microphones.
To avoid damage to speakers, be sure to turn OFF amplifiers (or powered speakers) before turning this
switch ON or OFF.
20. LEVEL-METER SIGNAL SWITCHES
These level-meter switches, together with the channel PFL switches, select the signal that is sent through
the C-R/PHONES control to the C-R (CONTROL ROOM) OUT connectors, the PHONES connector, and the
LEVEL METER.
The following illustrates how the switch settings correspond to the signal selection.
•If the input channel’s PFL switch is ON (pressed in, amber LE on switch lights up), then only the
channel’s PFL output is sent to the C-R OUT connectors, PHONES connector, and LEVEL METER.
•If the 2TR IN switch is ON (pressed in), the signal supplied to the 2TR IN input connector is sent to
the C-R OUT connectors, PHONES connector, and LEVEL METER. If the 2TR IN switch is off (not
pressed in), then either the STEREO, GROUP 1-2, or GROUP 3-4 signal is sent to the C-R OUT
connectors (as determined by the ST-GROUP and GROUP toggle switches).

28. INSERT I/O
These are balanced phone-type input/output connectors. Each of these connectors is positioned between the
equalizer and fader of the corresponding input channel (Channels 1 to 8). These connectors can be used to
independently connect these channels to devices such as graphic equalizers, compressors, external effects,
and noise filters. These are ¼” TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) phone-type connectors that support bidirectional
operation.
29. CHANNEL INPUTS (UNBALANCED)
These are unbalanced input connectors. Two connector types are provided: ¼” TS phone-type (Channels
9/10 to 15/16) and RCA (Channels 13/14, 15/16). Use these connectors to input stereo signals, inputting the
L signal(s) to the O -numbered channel(s) and the R signal(s) to the EVEN-numbered channel(s).
NOTES: Where a channel provides both phone-type (¼” TS) connectors and RCA
connectors, you must use either one of these connectors but you may not use both
at the same time. Please connect to only one of these connectors on each channel.
The phone-type (¼” TS) connectors for Channel 9/10 and 11/12 also support
monaural input. Specifically, if you input only into the L (MONO) connector of either
pair (while leaving the R connector empty), the mixing console will propagate the
same signal through both the L (MONO) and R inputs.
30. GROUP OUT (1-4)
These are impedance-balanced phone-type (¼” TRS) output connectors that output the GROUP 1-2/3-4
signals. Use these connectors to connect to the inputs of a multitrack hard disk recorder, external mixing
console or other such device.
31. ST (STEREO) OUT
These balanced XLR (male) and ¼” TRS connectors output the mixed signal whose level is adjusted by the
ST fader in the MASTER CONTROL SECTION. Output is in STEREO (L and R). You use these connectors,
for example, to connect to the power amplifier driving your main speakers.
32. C-R (CONTROL ROOM) OUT
These are impedance-balanced ¼” TRS output connectors. These connectors output the mixed signal
whose level is adjusted by the C-R/PHONES control. Output is in STEREO (L and R). These connectors are
typically used to connect to a monitor system in a control room.
NOTES: The signals by these output connectors are monitored by selecting the
level-meter signal switches and the channel PFL switches.
33. SEND

EFFECT
This is an impedance-balanced ¼” TRS output connector that outputs the signal from the EFFECT bus. You
use this output connector, for example, to connect to an external effects unit.
34. RETURN L (MONO), R
These are unbalanced ¼” TS input connectors. The signal received by these input connectors is sent to the
STEREO bus and the AUX1 and AUX2 buses. These input connectors are typically used to receive a return
signal from an external effects unit (reverb, delay, etc.).
NOTES: These input connectors can also be used as an auxiliary stereo input. If you
connect to the L (MONO) input connector only, the mixing console will recognize the
signal as monaural and will propagate the identical signal on both L and R
connectors.
35. REC OUT (L, R)
These are unbalanced RCA-type output connectors. By connecting these connectors to an external recorder,
you can record the same signal that is being output from the ST (STEREO) OUT connectors.
NOTES: The mixing console’s ST MASTER FA ER does not operate on the signal
output from these connectors. Be sure to make appropriate level adjustments at the
external recording device.
36. 2TR IN
These unbalanced RCA input connectors are used to input a stereo sound source. Use these connectors
when you want to connect a stereo sound sources (C or AT) directly to the mixing console for monitoring.
NOTES: You can adjust the signal level using the 2TR IN control in the MASTER
CONTROL SECTION.
37. POWER SWITCH
Use this switch to set the mixing console power to ON [I] or STAN BY [O].
