About Device
e simple, yet sporty and sleek Gemtek is a personal and portable tracking
device unlike anything else. Always know where your child may be. Watch
over loved ones who may need you. Track your company’s assets wherever they
go. With just one push of a button, you can know within one minute the exact
location of your Gemtek.*
Device Features
• An “SOS” Button that immediately sends an alert to contacts preset by the
user in case of an emergency
• Speed Dial Buttons that allow the device to call up to 2 pre-determined
numbers (a third Speed Dial Button is reserved by Gemini)
• A signal light to show GSM (cellular) and GPS, as well as a low battery
indicator and Test Button for GSM (cellular) and GPS coverage
• Rechargeable battery with capacity of up to 15 hours, with a short charging
time of only 4 hours to restore full battery capacity
• A sensitive microphone for using the cellular phone functions (a headset port

BatteryTips
Battery life depends on the network, signal strength, temperature, features,
and accessories in use. For maximum performance, please note the following
guidelines:
• New batteries or batteries stored for a long time may take more time to charge
• When charging and storing your battery, keep it near room temperature
• Never expose batteries to temperature below –10°C (14°F) or above 45°C
(113°F).
• It is normal for batteries to gradually require longer charging times. If you
notice a signicant change in your battery life, it is probably time to purchase
a new battery.
Warning
Dispose of properly and according to any applicable state or local laws.
Never dispose of batteries in a re because they may explode.

Getting Started
Charging the Battery
Note
• For the initial charging of the battery, it is required that the device
remain in the “O ” postition. All other times it is recommended to
charge the battery while the device is in the “On” position.
1. Insert the Home Charger plug into “Charging Jack” on your Gemtek (See
“Description of Device” on page 3 for location of jack).
2. If device is on while charging, the orange light will remain on even if the
device is fully charged. If the device is o while charging, the orange light
will turn o when the device is fully charged.
Turn the Gemtek On or O
1. Locate the On/O switch on the bottom of the Gemtek.
2. Push the On/O switch to the desired position.
Adjusting Volume
1. Press “Volume/Test Button” to adjust sound level while using the device
during a phone call. (Volume adjustment sequence: Medium > High> Low)
Answering a Call
1. Press the “Answer” Button for 2 seconds. ere will be one beep and signal
light will blink green once.
Ending a Call
1. Press the “Hang-up” Button for 2 seconds. ere will be one beep and signal
light will blink green once.

Speed Dial Buttons
The Speed Dial Buttons Have Three Functions:
1. e person carrying the device may place a voice call to the numbers stored
in the speed dial buttons. (See Example 1: Placing a Voice Call, page 9).
2. When calling the device from one of the stored numbers in either speed dial,
the Gemtek recognizes these numbers and automatically responds with a
busy signal. e location of the Gemtek will then be sent to the phone that
requested the device’s location.
3. e mobile phone numbers programmed as speed dials can receive alert
notications for specic events.
Note
• e numbers stored in the speed dial buttons can be setup in your
online account.
• e numbers programmed in the speed dial buttons are unable to
place a voice call to the device unless you disable caller ID rst by
dialing *67 and then dialing the device’s phone number.

Example 1: Placing a Voice Call
By simply pressing the appropriate Speed Dial Button, the person carrying the
device may place a voice call to the numbers stored to these Speed Dial Buttons.
Example: e device is able to call Dad’s cell phone,
Mom’s cell phone or Gemini by pressing and holding the
desired speed dial button until the device beeps once.

Example 2: How to Request a Position
Using Your Online Account
Please log into your online account and click on “Locate Now”, select the device
you would like to request a position for and then click “Get Location”.
Using a Telephone
Only numbers stored in the Speed Dial Buttons may request a position.
Example: Mom’s Cell Phone calls the device. e Gemtek recognizes Mom’s Cell
as a speed dial number and a message is sent to Mom’s Cell with the location of
the device.

SOS Button
e SOS Button should ONLY be used in an emergency. By pressing and holding
down the SOS Button for 4 seconds, a message is sent including the location (if
available) of the device to the contact(s) you chose to receive alert notication(s).
(See “Alarm Settings” in your online account.)

In the above example, it is assumed that both contacts have been selected to
receive alert notication when the SOS button is pressed.
Note
• SOS Button MUST be held for at least 4 seconds.
• If there is not a contact selected to receive the SOS alert notication,
by default an alert notication will be sent to the email address and
mobile phone of the contact stored in speed dial 1.
Example: John presses the SOS button. e Gemtek sends a
message with its location to the contact(s) set to receive alert
notication when the SOS button has been pressed.

Geofence Button
A geofence allows you to set a boundary for your device. If the device goes
outside of the geofence area, an alert notication will be sent to the contact(s)
that you selected in your online account to receive alert notication.
Activating/Deactivating Your Geofence from the Gemtek
Gemtek can Activate/Deactivate the Geofence from the device by doing the
following:
• To activate press and hold down on the “G” Button for 4 seconds (device will
beep once)
• To deactivate press and hold down on the “G” Button for 4 seconds (device
will beep twice)
Note
• You can create a geofence in Set Boundaries in your online account.
• Activating the Geofence feature from the device will override any panel
activated geofence.

Receiving/Testing Signals
Receiving GPS & GSM (cellular) Signals
Every time you turn your device on, it immediately starts searching for a GPS
signal, then a GSM (cellular) signal. e following light sequence indicates which
signals have been received:
1. Signal light stays solid blue up to 1 - 1.5 minutes while device is in start up
mode and searching for a GPS signal.
2. Signal light blinks green slowly 4 times to indicate device is registering with
the GSM (cellular) network.
3. Your device will now blink in one of the following ways indicating normal
standby mode, ready to use.
• Signal light will ash green only, indicating the device currently has GSM
coverage, but does not have a GPS position.
• Signal light will alternately ash green and red, indicating the device
currently has GSM and GPS coverage.
• Signal light will alternately ash green and blue, indicating the device
has GSM coverage and no current GPS coverage but does have a position
stored in memory.
Testing GPS & GSM (cellular) Signals
To test for GPS and/or GSM (cellular) signals while in normal standby mode,
press and hold the “Test” button until device beeps. e device tests rst for a
GSM (cellular) signal then a GPS signal. Sequence of lights is as follows:
1. Green light stays on up to 4 seconds if GSM (cellular) signal is OK (no green
light if no GSM signal).
2. Blue light stays on up to 4 seconds if GPS signal is OK (if no GPS signal.
then signal light blinks blue for 20 seconds).
Note
• e functions are limited to areas where GPS/cellular service are
available.

FunCtions operations
Sending
an SOS
Press and hold the SOS Button for at least 4 seconds. Green light stays
on until SOS alert notication(s) has been sent.
Location
Request—
from a phone
Mobile phone numbers that have been stored in Speed Dial Buttons 1
and 2 can call and request location information from the device. The
Gemtek recognizes these numbers and automatically responds with a
busy signal. The location of the Gemtek will then be sent to the phone
that requested the device’s location.
Activating
Geofence
Press “G” Button for 4 seconds, the device will beep once and report to
the control center and automatically activate the Geofence function.
You can also set and dene Geofence boundaries by logging into your
online account.
Deactivating
Geofence
Press “G” Button for 4 seconds, the device beeps twice and deactivates
the Geofence. You can also deactivate the Geofence by logging into
your online account.
Answering
Call
Any phone can be used to call the device, and the device will notify the
user with a music ring. To answer the call, press and hold the“Answer”
Button until the device beeps once.
Ending Call User can end the call by pressing and holding the“Hang-up” Button
until the device beeps once.
Calling out Users can call any preset number (1, 2, 3) by pressing and holding the
appropriate Speed Dial button until the device beeps once.
Volume
Control
Press “Volume/Test” Button to adjust sound level during a phone call.
(Volume adjustment sequence: Medium →High → Low)
GSM/GPS Test Press “Volume/Test” Button to test for GSM (cellular) and GPS
reception while in normal standby mode. Green light stays on up to 4
seconds if GSM (cellular) signal is OK (no green light if no GSM signal)

Hands-free Earphone is included for hands-free function.
Worldwide
monitoring

Low battery Indicated when signal light is red.
Charging It is recommended to keep your Gemtek in the “On” position while
charging. Orange light will stay on and a full charge is achieved in
approximately 4–6 hours.

Helpful Hints
• For optimum performance, you should keep your Gemtek in the “On”
position at all times, even while charging the battery. It is only required to
charge the battery in the “O” position the rst time.
• Charging light will always be orange when the device is in the “On” position
while charging, even when the battery is fully charged.
