8.4Airpurgingofthepipingandindoorunit
Requiredtools:
Hexagonalwrench;adjustablewrench;torquewrenches,wrench tohold thejointsand gasleakdetector.
Note:
Theairintheindoorunitandin thepipingmustbepurged. Ifairremainsintherefrigeration piping,itwillaffectthecompressor,
reducethecoolingcapacity,andcouldleadtoamalfunction ofunit.
Besure,usingatorquewrench totightentheserviceportcap(afterusingtheserviceport),sothatitpreventsthegasleakage
fromtherefrigeration cycle.
Procedure
1.Recheckthepipingconnections.
2.Open thevalvestemofthe2-wayvalvecounterclockwise
approximately90’, wait10 seconds,andthen setittoclosed
position.
§Besuretouse ahexagonalwrenchto operatethevalve
stem
3.Check forgasleakage.
§Checktheflareconnection forgasleakage
4.Purgetheairfromthesystem.
§Setthe2-wayvalvetotheopenposition and remove the
capfromthe3-wayvalve’sserviceport.
§Using thehexagonalwrench to pressthevalvecorepin,
dischargeforthreesecondsandthenwaitforone
minute.
5.Usetorquewrenchtotightentheserviceportcap toatorque
of 1.8kg.m. (18n.m)
6.Setthe3-wayvalvetotheopened position.
7.Mounted thevalvestemnutstothe2-wayand 3-wayvalves.
8.Check forgasleakage.
§Atthistime,especiallycheck forgasleakagefromthe
2-wayand 3-waystemnuts,and fromtheserviceport.
Caution:
Ifgasleakageisdiscoveredinstep(3)above,takethe
following measures.
Iftheleaksstopwhenthepipingconnectionsaretightened
further,continueworking fromstep (4).
Ifthegasleaksdonotstopwhentheconnectionsare
retightened,repairthelocationoftheleak,dischargeall of
thegas through theservice port,andthenrechargewiththe
specifiedamountofgasfromagascylinder.

8.5Pumpingdown(Re-installation)
Procedure
1.Confirmthat boththe2-wayand 3-wayvalvesaresettotheopenedposition.
§Removethevalvestemcapsandconfirmthatthevalvestemsareintheopenedposition.
§Besuretouseahexagonalwrenchtooperatethevalvestems.
2.Operatetheunit for10to15minutes.
3.Stop operation andwait for3minutes, then connect thechargesettotheserviceportof the3-wayvalve.
§Connectthechargehose with thepushpinto thegas serviceport.
4.Airpurging of thechargehose.
§Openthelow-pressurevalveon thechargesetslightlyto purgeairfromthechargehose.
5.Setthe2-wayvalvetothecloseposition.
6.Operatetheairconditionerat thecooling cycleand stopit whenthegaugeindicates0.1MPa.
7.Immediatelysetthe3-wayvalvetotheclosedposition.
§Dothisquicklysothatthegaugeendsup indicating 0.3to0.5Mpa.
8.Disconnect thechargeset,andamount the2-wayand3-wayvalve’sstemnutsandserviceportcaps.
§Use atorquewrench to tighten theserviceportcap toatorqueof1.8kg.m.
§Besuretocheckforgas leakage.
