Genie ReliaVolt™ Features:
• Jump start most vehicle gas and diesel engines up to 8
cylinders under 4.0L.
• System will initiate safeguards (power deployment
prevention) and give a ashing light to indicate reverse
polarity if the jumper cables are connected incorrectly.
• LCD Screen with power and voltage signals for ease of

RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES
•WORKING IN VICINITY OF A LEAD ACID BATTERY IS
DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES
DURING NORMAL BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON,
IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE
INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE POWER PACK.
•To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions
and those published by battery manufacturer and
manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in
vicinity of the battery. Review cautionary marking on these
products and on engine.
•Do not sit unit on ammable materials such as carpeting,
upholstery, paper, cardboard, etc…
•Do not jumpstart a vehicle while charging the internal
battery.
•Never place the unit directly above the battery being
jumped.

WORK AREA SAFETY
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
• Do not operate Genie ReliaVolt™ in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of ammable liquids, gases or dust. The
Genie ReliaVolt™ can create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating the Genie
ReliaVolt™.
• Store idle equipment. Always lock up tools and keep out of
reach of children.

Important Safety Instructions
WARNING
PERSONAL SAFETY
•Consider having someone close enough by to come to
your aid when you work near a lead-acid battery.
•Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case
battery acid contacts skin, clothing, or eyes.
•Wear complete eye protection and clothing protection.
Avoid touching eyes while working near battery.
•If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately
with soap and water. If acid enters eye, immediately
ood eye with running cold water for at least 10 minutes
and get medical attention immediately. If battery acid
is ingested, do not induce vomiting and seek medical
attention immediately.
•NEVER smoke or allow a spark or ame in vicinity of
battery or engine.
•Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool
onto battery. It might spark or short-circuit battery or
other electrical part that may cause explosion.
•Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets,
necklaces, and watches when working with lead-acid
battery. A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit
current high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal,
causing a severe burn.
•Do not permit internal battery of the unit to freeze. Never
charge a frozen battery.

Important Safety Information
WARNING
!
• When charging the internal battery, work in a well-
ventilated area and do not restrict ventilation in any way.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs,
ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause
irritation or burns.
• Do not expose a power pack to re or excessive
temperature. Exposure to re or temperature above
131°F may cause explosion.
• Have servicing performed by a qualied repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the product is maintained.
• Attach output cables to a battery and chassis as
indicated. Never allow the output clamps to touch one
another.

Charging the Device
To keep the Genie ReliaVolt™ charged and ready at all times
follow these steps:
1. Open USB port cover to nd input charging port.
2. Plug in wall charger to a wall outlet -OR- plug in the car charger
to the available 12V socket in the car, then plug into Genie Relia-
Volt™ input port.
3. The display will automatically light up and begin charging. The
LCD screen will show the current charge level and will remain
on during charge cycle. When the device is fully charged, the
battery bar will stop blinking and the word “CHARGING” will
disappear from the LCD display.
NOTE: The Genie ReliaVolt™ contains a charge safety circuit, to prevent
overcharging of unit. Initial charging can take up to 6-8 hours.

General Device Maintenance
To keep the Genie ReliaVolt™ ready at all times follow
these steps:
•Clean Genie ReliaVolt™ with a damp cloth. DO NOT use solvents or
abrasives to clean unit.
•DO NOT submerse the Genie ReliaVolt™ in water.
•Keep fully charged with included 115VAC wall charger or 12V car
charger at all times.
•Use ONLY with chargers provided, use of after-market charging
devices can damage unit and void the warranty.
•Immediately charge after purchase, after each use and every 3-6
months to keep internal battery fully charged and prolong battery
life.
•Store in case provided in a cool dry place.
NOTE: There are no serviceable parts within this unit.
DO NOT attempt to open case or perform any repairs.

Jump Starting Procedure
NOTE: Do not charge the ReliaVolt™ unit or USB devices while jump
starting a vehicle.
1. Ensure vehicle ignition is turned OFF and all accessories such as
AC, radio, defroster, etc... are also turned o.
2. Plug jumper cable into Genie ReliaVolt™. (Fig. 1)
3. Clamp RED jump starter cable to the RED POSITIVE (+) terminal
post of the vehicle battery. (Fig. 2)
4. Clamp BLACK jump starter cable to the BLACK NEGATIVE (-)
terminal post of the vehicle battery or chassis ground. (Fig. 2)
5. Press the Power button on the Genie ReliaVolt™ to check power
level (Power Button will illuminate). Charge level should be
over 11.5V for best results.
6. The display will also indicate current charge level of the vehicle
battery. (Fig. 3)

•IftheLCDashesandJumpStartbuttonisRED,reversepolarityof
the clamps to the battery.
7. When the LCD screen indicates“READY…GO”, press JUMP
START button on the Genie ReliaVolt™. Button will ash and
power will then ow to the vehicle battery.
8. Start Vehicle.
•Displaywillreadvoltageaftervehicleisrunning.(Fig.4)
NOTE: If vehicle does not start, allow Genie ReliaVolt™ to rest 10
seconds before attempting to start vehicle again. When the Jump Start
button is green, it is ready for your next attempt. Try this process up to
two additional times with at least 10 seconds in between attempts.
If vehicle fails to start after 3 attempts, discontinue use of the Genie
ReliaVolt™ and seek other methods to start vehicle.

9. Once vehicle has started, press POWER button on the side of
unit to turn unit OFF.
10. Remove BLACK NEGATIVE (-) jump starter clamp from vehicle
battery post or chassis ground.
11. Remove RED POSITIVE (+) jump starter clamp from vehicle
battery post.
•RechargeGenieReliaVolt™assoonaspossibletokeepready.
•StoreGenieReliaVolt™initsoriginalcasealongwiththese
instructions.

Jump Start Override
If the vehicle battery voltage is under 2 volts, an extra
step is required to attempt to start the vehicle.
1. Follow the hook-up procedure shown on page 12-13.
2. Press and hold the JUMP START button for 3 seconds. This will
activate a “phantom” polarity check.
NOTE: This “phantom” polarity check can take up to 30 seconds.
If polarity is reversed, the JUMP START button LED will ash
continuously, reverse the clamps.
3. When JUMP START button LED stops ashing, Attempt to start
vehicle.
NOTE: If vehicle does not start, allow Genie ReliaVolt™ to rest 10
seconds before attempting to start vehicle again. When the Jump Start
button is green, it is ready for your next attempt. Try this process up to
two additional times with at least 10 seconds in between attempts.
If vehicle fails to start after 3 attempts, discontinue use of the Genie
ReliaVolt™ and seek other methods to start vehicle.
4. Once vehicle has started, press POWER button on the side of unit to
turn OFF.
5. Remove jump starter clamps from vehicle battery.
• Recharge Genie ReliaVolt™ as soon as possible to keep ready.
•Store Genie ReliaVolt™ in its original case along with these
instructions.

Charging Hand-Held Devices
The Genie ReliaVolt™ will charge small hand-held devices
such as cell phones or tablets that require a USB connection
at 5VDC, [email protected], [email protected]
1. Ensure Genie ReliaVolt™ is turned OFF.
2. Plug included USB connector into port on unit.
3. Locate the correct USB plug adapter and plug into hand-held
device.
4. Press POWER button on Genie ReliaVolt™. Charging will begin.
5. Once hand-held device is fully charged, press POWER button on
Genie ReliaVolt™ and remove USB connectors.
Flashlight Mode
1. Press POWER button on side of unit.
2. Press the WORKLIGHT button once to activate the LED light at
50% brightness.
3. Press the WORKLIGHT button twice to activate the LED light at
100% brightness.
4. Press the WORKLIGHT button a
third time to activate SOS signal.
5. Press the WORKLIGHT button a

GMI Holdings, Inc. d/b/a The Genie Company (“Seller”) warrants to the original purchaser of the Model
GPCD-R ReliaVolt™ (“Product”), subject to all of the terms and conditions hereof, that the Product and all
components thereof will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the following period(s) of
time, measured from the date of purchase:
PARTS AND ACCESSORIES - ONE (1) YEAR
GMI Holdings Inc. dba The Genie Company (“Seller”) warrants to the original purchaser that the Model
GPCD-R ReliaVolt™ (Device) is free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year. The
warranty period for the Device starts on the original date purchased and continues for one (1) year parts for
the entire unit. Labor of any kind is not included. Genie’s obligations under this warranty are specically
limited to repairing or replacing, at its option, the Device or any part thereof which is determined by Seller to
be defective during the applicable warranty period. Unless Seller species otherwise, these warranties apply
only in the country or region in which you purchased the device.
This warranty does not cover any unauthorized or improper alteration or repair of the Device nor does this
warranty cover misuse, neglect, accident, modication, unsuitable physical or operating environment, failure
to follow owner’s manual instructions, or any damage caused by a product not manufactured by Genie or
not authorized by Genie to be used with the Device. For warranty claims or repair, please contact Genie
Customer Service toll free at 1-800-354-3643 for further information. This warranty is made to the original
purchaser of the Device only and is not transferable or assignable.
The above warranties are your exclusive warranties and replace all other warranties or conditions, express
or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties or conditions of merchantability and tness
for a particular purpose. Some states or jurisdictions do not allow the waiver of implied warranties, so this
may not apply to you.
ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN TIME TO
THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD REFLECTED ABOVE. NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
WILL APPLY AFTER THE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. Some states do not allow limitations on
how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL GMI HOLDINGS, INC. OR ITS PARENT OR AFFILIATES BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, OR LIABLE
TO ANYONE FOR, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, COLLATERAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,
even if Seller has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Such excluded damages include, but are
not limited to, loss of use, cost of any substitute product, or other similar indirect nancial loss. Some states
do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or
exclusion may not apply to you.
Claims under this warranty must be made promptly after discovery and within the applicable warranty
period. To obtain warranty service, you must contact Genie™ customer service toll free at 1-800-354-3643 to
speak with a trained representative and attempt reasonable troubleshooting measures, as well as provide
proof of the date and location of purchase, identication as the original purchaser and a description of the
claimed defect. Purchaser must allow Seller a reasonable opportunity to inspect the Product claimed to be
defective prior to removal or alteration of its condition. Upon determination by Seller that the Product or
any part thereof is defective during the applicable warranty period (which may require purchaser to return
the Product to Seller at purchaser’s expense), Seller will supply the purchaser with replacement parts or,
at its option, a replacement Product (shipping and handling of any replacement Product or parts also at
purchaser’s expense). Seller may use new or reconditioned parts, or a new or reconditioned Product of the
same or similar design
There are no established informal dispute resolution procedures of the type described in the Magnuson-
Moss Warranty Act
