1. Unboxing
When a cradle compatible with the ZEB Horizon system is received, it will be pre-assembled with
the datalogger mounting plate attached on the side of the cradle and the scanner head mounting
plate attached to the base.
A screw accessory kit will also be included which contains all of the screws needed to attached the
ZEB Horizon system to the cradle.

Before continuing with this user guide, please ensure you are using a ZEB Horizon with the
Generation 1 datalogger. This can be identified from the front panel shown in Figure 2. If the front
panel of your datalogger doesn’t match this image, please open the ‘ZEB Cradle – Assembly with
ZEB Horizon (Gen 2)’ guide.

2. Assembly
Step 1. Removethe handle from the ZEB Horizon scanner head by lifting the pin upwards and sliding
the handle out of the scanner head base. Then remove the rubber dampers from the back of the
ZEB Horizon scanner head.

Step 2. Fix the back of the scanner head to the mounting plate on the base of the cradle using four
M4 x 12mm CSK screws in mounting holes A. These screws are provided in the screw accessory
kit.

Step 3. Remove the universal mounting plate from the front of the cradle and attach the back of the
ZEB Horizon datalogger to it using four M4 x 12mm CSK screws in mounting holes B. These screws
are provided in the screw accessory kit.

Step 4. Re-attach the universal mounting plate (with the datalogger attached) to the front of the
cradle using the two fixing screws.
Step 5. Attach the battery onto the front of the datalogger by sliding it towards the base

Step 6. Connect one end of the ZEB Horizon main cable into the datalogger and the other end into
the side of the scanner. Ensure the red dots on the casing of the cable are aligned with the dots on
the system component.

The ZEB Horizon is now set up with the cradle. Please refer to the ZEB Horizon User Manual for
further information about how to operate the system.
