EN
A) TRAINING
1) Read the instructions carefully. Become
acquainted with the controls and the proper use
of the machine. Learn how to stop the engine
quickly.
2) Only use the machine for the purpose for
which it was designed, that is for “felling, buck-
ing and delimbing trees with dimensions suit-
able for the length of the bar” or wooden
objects with the same characteristics. Any other
use may be dangerous and damage the machine.
3) Never allow children or persons unfamiliar with
these instructions to use the machine. Local reg-
ulations may restrict the age of the operator.
4) The machine must never be used by more than
one person.
5) Never use the machine:
–when people, especially children or pets are in
the vicinity;
–if the user is tired or unwell, or has taken medi-
cine, drugs, alcohol or any substances which
may slow his reflexes and compromise his
judgement;
–if the user is not capable of holding the machine
firmly with two hands and/or remaining stand-
ing on the ground whilst working;
–in environments where there is inflammable gas
or risk of explosion.
6) Remember that the operator or user is respon-
sible for accidents or hazards occurring to other
people or their property.
B) PREPARATION
1) Always wear adequate clothing which does
not hamper movements when using the
machine.
–Always wear slim-fitting protective clothing, fit-
ted with shear-proof protection devices.
–Always wear a helmet, protective gloves, eye-
goggles, a half-mask respirator and safety anti-
shear boots with non-slip soles.
–Always wear ear and hearing protection
devices.
–Never wear scarves, shirts, necklaces, or any
hanging or flapping accessory that could catch
in the machine or in any objects or materials in
the work area.
–Tie your hair back if it is long
2) WARNING: DANGER! Electricity and mois-
ture are not compatible.
–Always handle and connect electric cables in
dry conditions.
–Keep electric sockets or cables away from wet
and damp areas (e.g. puddles or wet ground).
–Connections between cables and sockets must
always be watertight. Only use extension leads
with intact, watertight and approved sockets
sold on the market.
–Supply power to the machine using a differen-
tial switch (RCD - Residual Current Device) with
a tripping current of max. 30 mA.
3) The quality of the extension leads must be no
less than H07RN-F or H07VV-F, with a minimum
section of 2.5 mm2and a recommended maxi-
mum length of 30 m.
4) Attach the extension lead to the cable clamp
before starting the machine.
5) To avoid overheating, do not keep the exten-
sion lead rolled up during use.
6) The permanent connection of any electrical
equipment to the mains of a building must be
installed by a qualified electrician in conformi-
ty with the regulations in force. Incorrect
wiring can cause serious injury and even
death.
7) Before use, check that the power cable and
extension leads are not damaged or worn.
8) Before using the machine, check its general
condition and in particular:
–the trigger switch and the safety button should
move freely without forcing and return automat-
ically and rapidly back to their neutral position;
–the trigger switch must remain locked until the
safety button is pressed;
–the machine handgrips and protection devices
must be clean and dry and well fastened to the
machine;
–the chain brake must be in perfect working
order;
–the bar and the chain must be fitted correctly;
–the chain must be tensioned correctly;
–make sure the cooling air vents are not clogged
up with sawdust or debris.
9) Before starting your work, make sure that all
the protection devices are correctly fitted.
C) OPERATION
1) Only use the chain-saw in the daylight or with
good artificial lighting. Do not work in the rain,
snow or very damp conditions.
2) Keep the chain away from the electric cable.
Use the cable clamp to prevent the extension lead
from disconnecting accidentally. Make sure it is
connected to the socket without being forced.
3) Never pull or carry the chain-saw around by its
power cable, and never tug the cable to pull out
the plug. Keep the power cable and extension
lead away from sources of heat, oil, solvent and
sharp objects.
4) Do not carry the machine around when it is
connected to the mains and with your finger on
