Preparing YourComputer
Computermotherboardsand expansion cardscontainverydelicateIntegrated Circuit(IC)chips.To
protectthemagainstdamagefromstaticelectricity,youshouldfollowsomeprecautionswheneveryou
workon yourcomputer.
1.Unplug yourcomputerwhen working onthe inside.
2.Useagroundedwriststrap beforehandlingcomputercomponents.Ifyou do nothaveone,
touchbothofyourhandstoasafelygrounded objectortoametalobject, suchasthe power
supplycase.
3.Holdcomponentsbythe edgesand trynottouchthe ICchips,leadsorconnectors,orother
components.
4.Placecomponentson agrounded antistaticpad oron thebag thatcamewiththe components
wheneverthe componentsareseparated fromthe system.
5.EnsurethattheATXpowersupplyisswitched off beforeyou plug inorremovethe ATXpower
connectoronthemotherboard.
Installing themotherboardtothechassis
Ifthe motherboardhasmounting holes,buttheydon'tline upwiththe holeson the baseand there
areno slotstoattachthe spacers,do notbecomealarmed you can still attachthe spacerstothe
mounting holes.Justcutthe bottomportion ofthe spacers(the spacermaybe alittlehardtocutoff, so
be carefulofyourhands).Inthiswayyoucan stillattachthe motherboardtothe basewithoutworrying
aboutshortcircuits.Sometimesyoumayneed tousethe plasticspringstoisolatethe screwfromthe
motherboardPCBsurface,becausethe circuitwiremaybe nearbythe hole.Becareful,don'tletthe
screwcontactanyprinted circuitwriteorpartson the PCBthatarenearthe fixing hole,otherwiseit
maydamagethe boardorcauseboardmalfunctioning.

Tosetup yourcomputer,you mustcompletethe following steps:
Step 1-Install the CentralProcessing Unit(CPU)
Step 2-Install memorymodules
Step 3-Install expansion cards
Step 4-Connectribbon cables,cabinetwires,and powersupply
HardwareInstallation Process
Step1:Install theCentralProcessing Unit(CPU)
Beforeinstalling the processor,adheretothe following warning:
1.Pleasemakesurethe CPUtype issupported bythe motherboard.
2.The processorwill overheatwithoutthe heatsinkand/orfan,resulting inpermanent
irreparabledamage.
3. If you do notmatchthe CPUsocketPin1and CPUcutedge well,itwill causeimproper
installation.Pleasechange the insertorientation.
4.Applythermalgreasebetween the processorand cooling fan.
5.Neverrun the processorwithoutthe heatsinkproperlyand firmlyattached.Permanent
damage will result.
6.Pleasesetthe CPUhostfrequency inaccordancewithyourprocessor'sspecifications.
Wedon'trecomm end you tosetthe systembusfrequency overthe CPU'sspecification
becausethesespecificbusfrequenciesarenotthe standardspecificationsforCPU,
chipsetand mostofthe peripherals.Whetheryoursystemcan run underthesespecific
busfrequenciesproperlywill depend on yourhardwareconfigurations,including CPU,
Memory,Cards…etc.

LocatePin1inthe socketand lookfora(golden)cutedge on the
CPUuppercorner.Insertthe CPUintothe socket. (Donotforcethe
CPUintothe socket.)Then movethe socketlevertothe locked
position whileholding pressureon the centerofthe CPU.

between yourCPUand cooling fan.

Beforeinstalling the memorymodules,adheretothe following warning:
1.Pleasenotethatthe DIMM modulecan onlyfitinone direction due tothe one notch.
Wrong orientation will causeimproperinstallation.Pleasechange the insertorientation.
Step2:Install MemoryModules
The motherboardhas2dualinline memorymodule(DIM M)sockets.The BIOSwill automatically
detectsmemorytype and size.Toinstall the memorymodule,justpushitverticallyintothe DIMM
socket. The DIM M modulecan onlyfitinone direction due tothe notch.Memorysizecan varybetween
sockets.

1.The DIMM sockethasanotch,sothe DIMM
memorymodulecan onlyfitinone direction.
2. Insertthe DIMM memorymoduleverticallyinto
the DIM M socket. Then pushitdown.
3.Closethe plasticclipatbothedgesofthe DIMM
socketstolock the DIM M module.
Reversethe installation stepswhen you wishto
removethe DIM M module.
