motherboardPCBsurface,becausethe circuitwiremaybe nearbythe hole.Becareful,don'tletthe
screwcontactanyprinted circuitwriteorpartson the PCBthatarenearthefixing hole,otherwiseitmay

1.Pleasemakesurethatthe motherboardsupportsthe CPU.
2.Pleasetakenoteofthe one indented cornerofthe CPU.If you install the CPUinthe wrong
direction,the CPUwill notinsertproperly.If thisoccurs,pleasechange the insertdirection of
the CPU.
3.Pleaseadd an even layerofheatsinkpastebetween the CPUand heatsink.
4.Pleasemakesurethe heatsinkisinstalled on the CPUpriortosystemuse,otherwise
overheating and permanentdamage ofthe CPUmayoccur.
5.Pleasesetthe CPUhostfrequency inaccordancewiththe processorspecifications.It isnot
recommended thatthe systembusfrequency be setbeyond hardwarespecificationssince

GA-8I865P(-G)includes4DIMM sockets,and eachChannelhastwoDIMM socketsasfollowing:

If you wanttooperatethe DualChannelTechnology,pleasenotethe following explanationsdue to
the limitation ofIntel®chipsetspecifications.
1.Onlyone DDR memorymoduleisinstalled:The DualChannelTechnologycan'toperate
when onlyone DDR memorymoduleisinstalled.
The motherboardsupportsDDR memorymodules,wherebyBIOSwill automaticallydetectmemory
capacityand specifications.Memorymodulesaredesigned sothattheycan be inserted onlyin
one direction.The memorycapacityused can differwitheachslot.
Beforeinstalling the memorymodules,pleasecomplywiththe following conditions:
1.Pleasemakesurethatthe memoryused issupported bythe motherboard.It is
recommended thatmemoryofsimilarcapacity,specificationsand brand be used.
2.Beforeinstalling orremoving memorymodules,pleasemakesurethatthe computer
powerisswitched off topreventhardwaredamage.
3.Memorymoduleshaveafoolproofinsertion design.Amemorymodulecan be in-
stalled inonlyone direction.If you areunabletoinsertthe module,pleaseswitch
the direction.
