Wet Box Manual
TheGigRig WetBox is the ultimate guitar/effects signal mixing system.
It can be manually set or controlled by the GigRig EX Expression pedal and
used on your pedal board, in the input or in the effects loop of your amp.
Basic operation:
There are so many great ways to use your Wet Box, here are just a few examples.
1. as a parallel mixer
You start with your guitar signal in ‘signal A’ input. The guitar signal is split at this point
an a mirror image of what is at the input is sent out of sen B. Plug the sen B into the
inout of the effect you want to mix in parallel with your original signal. You can plug
anything in here from Fuzz’s to elays, even rum machines. The output of the effect is
plugge nto the ‘return B’. Use the ‘balance’ control to balance between the ‘A’ signal
(your original signal) an the ‘B’ signal (the effect that is in the parallel loop). Use the
‘gain’ control to set the overall level of gain or master volume. Using the ‘gain’ control
the output can be booste by 2 or attenuate (re uce ) to 1/3.
hase switch - If as you mix the effect into your original signal the output seems to get
weaker, this means that the effect that is in the loop is ‘out of phase’ with your original
signal. Simply select the phase button to change the phase at ‘input b’ to correct this
problem.
The phase switch reverses this signal before it is mixe with input A.
2. A---B mixer
This is a really cool way to use the WetBox. If you split your original signal before the
WetBox (with a HumDinger for example) an sen these two signals into 2 ifferent
effects (chorus an OverDrive for example) you simply take the outputs of these two
effects an plug them into ‘input A’ an ‘input B’. Now as you ial the balance knob you
can ‘blen ’ these two effects in parallel. Try it, it soun s amazing.

3. Amplifier arallel Effects Loop Mixer
If your amplifier has an effects loop the WetBox enables you to mix effects in parallel
with your amplifiers original signal. You set this up the same as the 1st example (parallel
Mixer) the only ifference being that your input to the WetBox is the ‘SEND’ from your
amplifiers effects loop. The output of the WetBox is plugge into your amplifiers
‘EFFECTS RETURN’.
You can now mix your effects in phase an in parallel with your original signal. Pair this
with TheGigRig Remote Loopy2 for ultimate amplifier effects loop switching control.
Wet Box EX Expression edal… If purchased.
If the GigRig expression pe al (Wet box EXP) is use then the balance control knob will
be over written by the EXP expression pe al as soon as it is plugge in… The expression
pe al can then be use to control the balance between input ‘A’ an input ‘B’. The wet
box expression pe al also has a volume control in an out. This is a totally in epen ent
circuit an therefore can be use at the same time as the expression balance control
EXP input.
TI - delay trails
You can use the EXP pe al’s vol in an out between the ‘sen A’ an the elay pe als
input. Set the mix at the balance control on the WetBox. Now with the EXP pe al all the
way on the Delay pe al will see the original signal an the effect will be mixe in with
the original. As you back off the EXP pe al it re uces the signal to the elay, this means
that you can turn own the elay effect but still get the elay trails in your signal…how
cool is that!!
The expression pe al has a small knob on the left han si e. This sets the maximum
amount of mix. By backing of this control you can set the foot controller so a proportion
of input A is still present when the foot pe al reache maximum. (Toe own) I eal for
mixing in maximum elay levels.
Note. The expression pe al for the WetBox is sol separately an can be use as a
simple foot operate volume control.
Wet Box Applications:
• Mixing in effects eddals. (real time blen ing of wet an ry soun s.)
• Sen ing signals to elay pe als an playing over the elaye soun . (excelent for practicing rifs an
enhancing live performances)
• Instantly compatable with all GigRig roducts. (the WetBox can be use irectly in gigrig loops)
• hase correction for acoustic guitars. (the phase switch can be use to kill fee back or enhance tone.)
• Using two guitars into one amplifier. (a simple way to use two guitars into 1 amp) (i eal for teaching; use
the expresion pe al to silencethe pulrs guitar or blenf bothe guitars into 1 amp.)
• Buffering and phase correctiong guitar signals, Some effects pe les revers the phase off the output
an hence cause problems when mixing. The wet box can be use to re establish true phase)
• Blending in drum machines or recorded material. (Use the EXP pe al to fa e in or out a rum machine or
pre recor e soun .)
• Blending in echo, real time. (use the EXP pe al or knob to controle the amount of echo real time. Within
a song or lea breake… When use with your existing echo pe al)
• Use with Humdinger or ‘Y’ cable to blen between two effects.
• Complex expresion pedal volume controls…( use ase a volume control with buffer or phase change.)
