GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust related hazards.
4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children
and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
e. Always unplug your power tool when leaving
unattended. Such preventative safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally by untrained users.
f. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tools
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
g. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
h. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in
a hazardous situation.
5. Battery tool use and care
a. Ensure the switch is in the off position before
inserting battery pack. Inserting the battery pack into
power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
b. Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type
of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with
another battery pack.
c. Use power tools only with specifically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may
create a risk of injury and fire.
d. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns
or a fire.
e. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
6. Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Additional safety instructions for drills
Wear ear protectors with impact drills.
Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool.
Loss of control can cause personal injury.
• If possible, always use clamps or a vice to hold your work.
• Always switch off before you put the drill down.
• Ensure that the lighting is adequate.
• Do not put pressure on the drill, such that it slows the
motor down. Allow the drill bit to cut without pressure.
You will get better results and you will be taking better
care of your tool.
• Keep the area free of tripping hazards.
• Do not let anyone under 18 years operate this tool.
• Only use accessory bits in good condition.
• Before drilling, check that there is sufficient clearance for
the drill bit under the workpiece.
• Do not touch the bit after operation. It will be very hot.

• Keep your hands away from under the workpiece.
• Never use your hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste
close by the bit.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left
around the work area.
• Support the work properly.
• If you are interrupted when operating the drill, complete
the process and switch off before looking up.
• Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other fixings are
properly tightened.
• When using the drill, use safety equipment including
safety glasses or shield, ear defenders, and protective
clothing including safety gloves. Wear a dust mask if the
drilling operation creates dust.
If in doubt, do not plug in the tool. Using a power source
with a voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to
the motor.
The tool must be used only for its prescribed purpose.
Any use other than those mentioned in this Manual will
be considered a case of misuse. The user and not the
manufacturer shall be liable for any damage or injury
resulting from such cases of misuse.
To use this tool properly, you must observe the safety
regulations, the assembly instructions and the operating
instructions to be found in this Manual. All persons who use
and service the machine have to be acquainted with this
Manual and must be informed about its potential hazards.
Children and frail people must not use this tool. Children
should be supervised at all times if they are in the area in
which the tool is being used. It is also imperative that you
observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your
area. The same applies for general rules of occupational
health and safety.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made
to the tool nor for any damage resulting from such changes.
Even when the tool is used as prescribed it is not possible
to eliminate all residual risk factors. The following hazards
may arise in connection with the tool’s construction and
design:
• Damage to the lungs if an effective dust mask is not worn.
• Damage to hearing if effective ear defenders are not worn
Additional safety instructions for the charger
• Before using the charger, read all the instructions and
cautionary markings on the charger and battery pack as
well as the instructions on using the battery pack.
• Only charge your batteries indoors as the charger is
designed for indoor use only.
• DANGER. If the battery pack is cracked or damaged in
any other way, do not insert it in the charger. There is a
danger of electric shock or electrocution.
• WARNING. Do not allow any liquid to come into contact
with the charger. There is a danger of electric shock.
• To allow the battery pack to cool down after charging, do
not place it in a hot environment such as a metal shed or
open trailer left in the sun.
• The charger is not intended for any use other than
charging the exact type of rechargeable battery pack as
supplied with the charger. Any other use may result in the
risk of fire, electric shock or electrocution.
• The charger and battery packs supplied with it are
specifically designed to work together. Do not attempt to
charge the battery pack with any other charger than the
one supplied.
• Do not place any object on top of the charger as it could
cause overheating. Do not place the charger near any
heat source.
• Do not pull on the lead of the charger to disconnect it
from the power source.
• Make sure that the charger cable is positioned where
it will not be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise
subjected to damage or stress.
• Do not use an extension cord unless it is absolutely
necessary. The use of an improper extension cord could
cause the risk of fire, electric shock or electrocution.

• Do not use the charger if it has been subjected to a
heavy knock, dropped or otherwise damaged in any way.
Take the charger to a power tool repair centre for a check
or repair.
• Do not disassemble the charger. Take it to power tool
repair centre when service or repair is required. Incorrect
re-assembly may result in the risk of fire, electric shock or
electrocution.
• To reduce the risk of an electric shock, unplug the
charger from the power supply before attempting to clean
it. Removing the battery alone does not reduce the risk.
• Never attempt to connect two chargers together.
• Do not store or use the tool and battery pack in locations
where the temperature may reach or exceed 104°F
(40°C) such as alongside sheds or metal structures in
the summer.
• The charger is designed for use from a standard
household electrical supply (230–240 volts). Do not
attempt to connect the charger to a supply with a
different supply.
• If you wish to charge a second battery pack, unplug the
charger from the mains supply and leave it for at least
15 minutes. After this time you can charge a second
battery pack.
Additional safety instructions
for the battery pack
• The battery pack for this tool has been shipped in a low
charge condition. You should charge the battery pack fully
before use.
• To ensure the longest battery life and best battery
performance, always charge the battery when the air
temperature is between 18–24°C. Do not charge the
battery pack when the temperature is below 0°C, or
above 40°C. This is important. Failure to observe
this safety rule could cause serious damage to the
battery pack.
• Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it is seriously
damaged or can no longer hold a charge. The battery
pack can explode in a fire.
• Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason.
If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks open
or cracks, immediately discontinue its use and do not
recharge it.
• The battery pack utilizes nickel-cadmium cells.
Cadmium is considered to be a toxic material. Use
an environmentally safe disposal unit at a municipal
waste disposal centre to dispose of a damaged or worn
out battery.
Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.

Know your product
This drill is mainly used for drilling in wood or
metal sheet and screwdriving. Use the tool
and accessories only for intended applications.
All other applications are expressly ruled out.

Fitting and removing the battery pack
To remove the battery pack from the drill firmly press the
battery release tabs (7) at either side of the battery pack,
and slide the battery backward out of the tool.
To install the battery pack, align
rails, on the tool with the tabs
on the battery pack and slide
the battery pack on to the drill.
Ensure the battery pack is sitting
straight on the foot and correctly
entering the runners. The battery
should slide fully on to the drill
foot until the battery pack “clicks”
into position.
Battery charging
1. Connect charger (9) to power
source. The green light (a),
should light up. This indicates
the charger is ready to begin
charging.
2. Position battery pack on
charger, align rails (d), on
battery charger with (e) on
battery pack. Slide battery
forward onto charger until it
clicks into position.
3. The red light (b), should
begin to glow continuously,
indicating that the battery pack
is receiving a “Fast Charge”.
4. After approximately one hour,
the “Fast Charge” indicator
red light (b) should go out
indicating that the battery pack
is fully charged and that the
charger is now in a “Maintenance Charge” mode, this
is confirmed by the green light (a) coming back on. The
battery pack can be left on Maintenance Charge” until
you are ready to use it.
5. To remove the battery pack from the charger depress the
battery pack release buttons (7) and slide the battery off.
WARNING. Do not leave batteries charging for longer than
24 hours.
Note. Depending on room temperature, line voltage, and
existing charge level, initial battery charging may take longer
than one hour.
Note. Disconnect charger from power source when not in use.
To obtain the best life for the battery
Never allow the drill to come to a complete stand still
before recharging. The battery should be placed on charge
whenever the battery is noticeably running down or the drill
no longer performs a task it previously performed.
Avoid conducting short charges. Make sure that the battery
is fully charged every time by allowing the charger to
complete its full charging cycle.
Avoid allowing lose items like screws or nails etc. to be
stored with battery packs as these or similar items can short
battery packs and cause a fire or explosion.
Always unplug the charger when not in use and store in a
dry secure place.
Avoid charging or storing your battery in temperatures below
0ºC and above 40ºC.

Using the drill
Use the forward/reverse switch (4) to select the direction
of rotation, then pull the trigger (3). This trigger switch is an
electronic variable speed control which enables the user to
vary the speed continuously. The speed varies according
to how far the trigger switch is depressed, the further it is
depressed the faster the chuck will rotate and the lighter it
is depressed, the slower it will rotate.
To stop the drill, release the trigger switch.
Note. You can only change
the direction of rotation of the
drill using the forward/reverse
switch when the trigger is NOT
depressed.
Forward/reverse switch
This switch (4) will allow you
to change the direction of
the motor while the trigger switch is not depressed.
Drilling uses the forward mode. The reverse mode is
intended for the removal of screws.
Drilling positions
This symbol indicates the DRILLING MODE. Used
for all normal drilling (Wood, Aluminium, and Steel)
in this mode the clutch is deactivated.
This symbol indicates the HAMMER MODE. This
mode will activate hammer action, whilst drilling. For
best results in hammer mode, set the gear selector
to high gear.
Note. The hammer action on this drill is designed for short
term light to medium applications.
For heavy applications or where many holes are to be
drilled, a rotary hammer drill should be used.
Torque adjustment/hammer selection collar
By rotating the torque adjustment/hammer selection collar
(2) behind the chuck, it is possible to adjust the torque to
each of twenty one settings, or select hammer action or the
drill setting.
The range of twenty one torque settings allows better
control when using the drill as a screwdriver as it prevents
over-tightening of the screws.
The symbols circling the collar are used to indicate the
level of torque. The larger the symbol on the collar, the
higher torque and the larger the fastener which can be
driven. To select any of the symbols, rotate the collar (2)
until the desired symbol aligns with the arrow head indicator
on the housing.
2 Speed gearbox
The 2 Speed Gearbox allows
you to select a gear with the
optimum speed and torque to
suit the application.
Note. When changing the gear
selector ensure the drill is not
operating.
1. To select the LOW gear (low speed, high torque setting),
push the gear selector (10) forward, towards the chuck.
The word LOW will be displayed.
2. To select the HIGH gear (high speed, low torque setting),
push the gear selector (10) back, away from the chuck.
The word HIGH will be displayed.

Inserting and removing bits
The drill is fitted with auto spindle lock which means if you
try and rotate the chuck by hand the spindle of the drill
will automatically lock. This means you only need to grasp
the chuck and rotate the chuck housing to remove or fit
accessories.
This drill has a keyless chuck,
hence a chuck key is not needed
to secure a bit in the drill. Always
set the forward/reverse switch
(4) to the locked ‘OFF’ position
when installing and removing
bits. It is also recommended to
remove the battery pack to avoid
unintentional starting.
1. Open the chuck jaws by firmly holding the chuck housing
and rotating the housing in an anti-clockwise direction.
Open the jaws sufficiently so as to fit the desired accessory.
2. Ensure the accessory is fully inserted, so that the jaws of
the chuck grip onto the flat section of the accessory.
3. To firmly clamp the accessory in the chuck, grasp
the chuck housing and rotate the chuck housing in a
clockwise direction. Ensure the bit is retained firmly or
damage to the chuck jaws can result.
4. To remove the accessory, open the chuck jaws by firmly
holding the chuck housing and rotating the housing in an
anti clockwise direction. Open the jaws sufficiently so as
to remove the specific accessory.
Adjustable side handle
1. Turn the side handle clamp
knob (6) anti-clockwise to
loosen the collar fully and slip it
over the chuck (1) onto the drill.
2. Adjust the position of the side
handle (5) to suit the
application and tighten the
side handle clamp knob (6) to
secure it in place.
Drilling
Drilling metals
• For maximum performance, use high speed steel bits for
metal or steel drilling.
• Ensure that the torque adjustment / hammer selection
collar (2) is in normal drilling mode.
• Begin drilling at a very low speed to prevent the bit from
slipping off the starting point.
• Always clamp sheet metal.
• Support thin metal with a block of wood to avoid
distorting it.
• Use a punch to mark the centre of the hole.
• Use a suitable lubricant for the material you are working on.
Use: for:
Oil Steel
Turpentine or paraffin Aluminium
Do not lubricate Brass, copper or cast iron
Drilling plastics and plastic coated chipboard
• Use high speed drill bits
• See drilling wood below
Drilling masonry
• For maximum performance use carbide-tipped masonry
impact bits when drilling holes in brick, tile, concrete etc.
• Turn the mode selector to hammer mode, then rotate the
torque collar to the drill position.
• Apply light pressure and medium speed for best results
in brick.
• Apply additional pressure and high speed for hard
materials such as concrete.
• When drilling holes in tile, practice on a scrap piece to
determine the best speed and pressure.

Drilling wood
• For maximum performance, use high speed steel bits for
wood drilling.
• Ensure that the mode selector is in normal drilling mode.
• Begin drilling at a very low speed to prevent the bit from
slipping off the starting point. Increase the speed as the
drill bites into the material.
• When drilling through holes, place a block of wood behind
the work piece to prevent ragged or splintered edges on
the back side of the hole.
• WARNING. Never attempt to lock the trigger switch in the
on position, do not lock the trigger on jobs where your
hammer drill may need to be stopped suddenly.
All drilling operations
• Mark off the centre of the hole using a centre punch
or nail.
Chuck replacement
Chuck removal
Always wear eye protection.
Turn the torque adjustment collar/hammer selection collar
(2) to the “drill” position and low
gear, on the gear selector (10).
Tighten the chuck around the
shorter end of a hex key (not
supplied) of 5mm or greater size.
Using a wooden mallet or similar
object, strike the longer end in
the clockwise direction. This
will loosen the screw inside the
chuck.
1. Open chuck jaws fully.
2. Insert a 5mm hex key into front of chuck between jaws to
engage screw head. Remove screw by turning clockwise.
3. Place the hex key in chuck and tighten. Using a wooden
mallet or similar object, strike key sharply in the anti-
clockwise direction. This will loosen the chuck so that it
can be unscrewed by hand.

3. Remove the hex key and open the jaws fully. Tighten the
screw in the centre of the chuck firmly, with the hex key in
an anti-clockwise direction.
Maintenance
• Store the tools, instruction manual and where necessary
the accessories in the original packaging. In this way
you will always have all the information and parts ready
to hand.
• If the cordset of the charger is damaged or worn, have
it repaired or replaced by a power tool repair centre in
order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not throw used batteries into fire or water. There
is a danger of explosion! Please hand in non-working
or used batteries, or tools with built-in batteries, to the
environmentally-safe disposal unit at a municipal waste-
disposal centre, or to your dealer.

Algemene veiligheidsregels
WAARSCHUWING. Lees alle instructies door. Het niet
opvolgen van alle instructies die hieronder vermeld staan,
kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of
ernstig letsel. De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle
hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op
uw op de stroom aangesloten (met een snoer) elektrische
gereedschap of uw met een accu (snoerloos) bediende
elektrische gereedschap.
Bewaar deze instructies
1. WERKGEBIED
a. Houd het werkgebied schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak
tot ongelukken.
b. Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, zoals bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c. Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u
de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2. VEILIGHEID MET BETREKKING TOT ELEKTRICITEIT
a. De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap
moeten passen bij het stopcontact. U mag op geen
enkele manier de stekker aanpassen. Gebruik geen
adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het
gebruikmaken van ongewijzigde stekkers en bijpassende
stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok.
b. Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde
oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt
toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c. Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden.
Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d. Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit
om te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer verwijderd van
hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Door
beschadigde of in de knoop geraakte snoeren neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e. Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,
maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt
is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Het gebruik van een snoer
dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis vermindert het
risico op een elektrische schok.
3. PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID
a. Blijf alert, houd uw aandacht gericht op wat u aan
het doen bent en gebruik uw gezonde verstand
wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik
het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent
of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Eén
moment van onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van
elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk
letsel.
b. Maak gebruik van veiligheidsmateriaal. Draag altijd
oogbescherming. Veiligheidsmateriaal dat onder
de juiste omstandigheden gebruikt wordt, zoals een
stofmasker, niet-slippend veiligheidsschoeisel, een helm
of oorbescherming, vermindert persoonlijk letsel.
c. Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Kijk of de schakelaar in de uit-stand staat
voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het
dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de
schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch
gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d. Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van
het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot
persoonlijk letsel.
e. Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo
houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap
in onverwachte situaties.
f. Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleding en

handschoenen weg van bewegende delen. Loshangende
kleding, sieraden of lang haar kunnen in bewegende
delen terechtkomen.
g. Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en
stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan
aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik
van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4. GEBRUIK EN VERZORGING VAN ELEKTRISCH
GEREEDSCHAP
a. Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik
elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat
u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt
beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt. Elk
elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met
de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, accessoires verandert of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d. Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is
op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die
niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of
met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap
niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de
handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e. Haal altijd de stekker van het elektrisch gereedschap
uit het stopcontact indien u dit onbeheerd achterlaat.
Dergelijke preventieve veiligheidsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het
elektrische gereedschap door ongeoefende gebruikers.
f. Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op
foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap
zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische
gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren
voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden
veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden elektrisch
gereedschap.
g. Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden scherp snijdende snijwerktuigen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
h. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires
en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
zoals is bedoeld voor elk specifiek type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de
werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk.
Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden
die verschillen van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is,
kan leiden tot een gevaarlijke situatie.
5. GEBRUIK EN BEHANDELING ACCUGEREEDSCHAP
a. Kijk of de schakelaar in de uit-stand staat voordat u
de accu in het apparaat plaatst. Het plaatsen van een
accu in elektrisch gereedschap terwijl de schakelaar is
ingeschakeld, leidt tot ongelukken.
b. Alleen opladen met de door de fabrikant
gespecificeerde oplader. Een oplader die geschikt is
voor een bepaald type accu kan brandgevaar opleveren
wanneer hij wordt gebruikt met een ander type accu.
c. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap alleen met accu’s
die speciaal voor dat doel bestemd zijn. Gebruik van
een ander type accu kan gevaar voor letsel en brand
opleveren.
d. Wanneer de accu niet wordt gebruikt, dient u
hem verwijderd te houden van andere metalen
voorwerpen zoals paperclips, munten, sleutels,
spijkers, schroeven of andere kleine voorwerpen
die een verbinding van de ene pool naar de andere
kunnen maken. De accupolen samen kortsluiting laten
maken kan brandwonden of brand veroorzaken.
e. Bij ruwe behandeling kan er vloeistof uit de accu
komen; vermijd contact hiermee. Als u per ongeluk
toch in contact komt met de vloeistof, spoel deze dan
af met water. Als uw ogen in contact komen met de
vloeistof, dient u bovendien contact op te nemen met
een arts. Vloeistof die uit een accu komt, kan irritatie of

brandwonden veroorzaken.
6. ONDERHOUD
a. Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden
door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangende onderdelen. Zo bent u er zeker
van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Aanvullende veiligheidsregels voor boren
Draag gehoorbescherming wanneer u slagboren gebruikt.
Blootstelling aan geluid kan leiden tot gehoorverlies.
Gebruik de hulphandgrepen die met het gereedschap
worden meegeleverd.
Verlies van controle kan leiden tot persoonlijk letsel.
• Gebruik indien mogelijk altijd een klem of bankschroef om
uw werk vast te houden.
• Schakel de boor altijd uit voordat u hem neerlegt.
• Zorg voor voldoende verlichting.
• Oefen niet zoveel druk op de boor uit dat dit de motor
vertraagt. Laat de boor boren zonder druk. U krijgt een
beter resultaat en het is beter voor uw gereedschap.
• Houd uw werkgebied vrij van zaken waar u over kunt
struikelen.
• Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar niet met dit
gereedschap werken.
• Gebruik alleen boren in goede conditie.
• Voordat u boort, dient u te controleren of er voldoende
ruimte voor de boor is onder het werkstuk.
• Raak de boor na het boren niet aan. De boor is erg heet.
• Houd uw handen niet onder het werkstuk.
• Verwijder zaagstof, spaanders of afval vlakbij de boor
nooit met uw handen.
• Lappen, kleden, snoeren, koorden en dergelijke mogen
nooit in het werkgebied rondslingeren.
• Ondersteun het werk goed.
• Als u gestoord wordt tijdens het boren, maak uw werk
dan af en schakel de boor uit voordat u op- of omkijkt.
• Controleer regelmatig of alle moeren, bouten en andere
onderdelen nog goed vastzitten.
• Wanneer u de boor gebruikt, dient u veiligheidsmateriaal
te gebruiken, inclusief een veiligheidsbril of -schild,
gehoorbescherming en beschermende kleding inclusief
veiligheidshandschoenen. Draag een stofmasker als door
het boren stof vrijkomt.
Verbind het gereedschap niet met de stroom indien u
twijfelt. Indien u een stroombron gebruikt met een voltage
dat lager is dan op het gegevensplaatje staat vermeld,
is dit schadelijk voor de motor.
Het gereedschap mag alleen gebruikt worden voor het
voorgeschreven doel. Elk ander doel dan vermeld staat
in deze handleiding wordt beschouwd als misbruik. De
gebruiker en niet de fabrikant is vervolgens aansprakelijk
voor eventuele schade of eventueel letsel ten gevolge van
dergelijke gevallen van misbruik.
Voor de juiste bediening van dit gereedschap dient
u de veiligheidsregels, de montage-instructies en de
bedieningsinstructies in deze handleiding in acht te nemen.
Alle personen die de machine gebruiken en onderhouden
dienen op de hoogte te zijn van de inhoud van deze
handleiding en dienen bekend te zijn met de mogelijke
gevaren van het gereedschap.
Kinderen en zwakke personen mogen dit gereedschap niet
gebruiken. Indien er kinderen aanwezig zijn in de ruimte
waar het gereedschap wordt gebruikt, dient er iemand
aanwezig te zijn die op hen let. Het is tevens verplicht de
lokaal geldende regels ten aanzien van het voorkomen
van ongelukken in acht te nemen. Hetzelfde geldt voor
algemene regels rondom arbeidsomstandigheden en
veiligheid.
De fabrikant is niet verantwoordelijk voor eventuele
wijzigingen die gedaan worden aan het gereedschap, noch
voor eventuele schade die het resultaat is van dergelijke
wijzigingen.
Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals
is voorgeschreven, is het niet mogelijk alle resterende
risicofactoren te elimineren. De volgende gevaren kunnen

zich voordoen met betrekking tot de constructie en het
ontwerp van het gereedschap:
• Longschade indien er geen goed werkend stofmasker
wordt gedragen.
• Gehoorschade indien er geen goed werkende
gehoorbeschermers worden gedragen
Aanvullende veiligheidsregels voor de oplader
• Lees voordat u de oplader gebruikt alle instructies en
waarschuwingen op de oplader en de accuset, evenals
de instructies over het gebruik van de accuset.
• Laad de accu alleen binnenshuis op, omdat de oplader
alleen bestemd is voor gebruik binnenshuis.
• GEVAAR. Als de accuset gescheurd of anderszins
beschadigd is, plaats hem dan niet in de lader. Dit kan
leiden tot een elektrische schok of elektrocutie.
• WAARSCHUWING. Laat de oplader nooit in contact
komen met vloeistof. Dit kan leiden tot een elektrische
schok.
• De accuset moet afkoelen na het opladen. Plaats deze
daarom niet in een warme omgeving, zoals een metalen
schuur of een open trailer in de zon.
• De oplader is alleen bedoeld voor het opladen van
exact het type oplaadbare accu dat met de oplader is
meegeleverd. Elk ander gebruik kan leiden tot gevaar
voor brand, elektrische schok of elektrocutie.
• De oplader en meegeleverde accusets zijn specifiek
bedoeld om gezamenlijk gebruikt te worden. Probeer de
accu niet op te laden met een andere oplader dan welke
is meegeleverd.
• Plaats geen objecten bovenop de oplader, daar dit kan
leiden tot oververhitting. Plaats de oplader niet bij een
warmtebron.
• Trek niet aan het snoer van de oplader om dit uit het
stopcontact te trekken.
• Zorg ervoor dat het opladersnoer ergens ligt waar
niemand er op kan trappen of erover kan struikelen en
waar het geen schade of spanningen oploopt.
• Gebruik geen verlengsnoer, tenzij absoluut noodzakelijk.
Het gebruik van een onjuist verlengsnoer kan leiden tot
gevaar voor brand, elektrische schok of elektrocutie.
• Gebruik de oplader niet als deze een zware klap heeft
gehad, is gevallen of anderszins beschadigd is. Breng
de oplader naar een reparatiecentrum voor controle of
reparatie.
• Haal de oplader niet uit elkaar. Breng de oplader naar
een reparatiecentrum indien deze onderhoud nodig heeft
of gerepareerd moet worden. Indien de oplader niet op
de juiste manier weer in elkaar wordt gezet, kan dit leiden
tot gevaar voor brand, elektrische schok of elektrocutie.
• Om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen,
dient u de oplader van de stroom te halen voordat u gaat
reinigen. Het gevaar wordt niet minder als u alleen maar
de accu verwijdert.
• Probeer nooit twee opladers met elkaar te verbinden.
• Gebruik het gereedschap en de accuset niet op plaatsen
waar de temperatuur tot boven de 40°C kan stijgen,
zoals ‘s zomers in schuurtjes of metalen bouwsels en
berg het daar niet in op.
• De oplader is bestemd voor gebruik met een normaal
stopcontact (230–240 volt). Probeer de oplader niet met
een ander soort stopcontact te verbinden.
• Als u een tweede accu wilt opladen, haal de stekker van
de oplader dan uit het stopcontact en laat hem minstens
15 minuten rusten. Hierna kunt u een tweede accuset
opladen.
Aanvullende veiligheidsregels voor de accuset
• De accu in dit gereedschap is gedurende transport
slechts gedeeltelijk geladen. U dient de accu volledig op
te laden voor gebruik.
• Voor een lange levensduur en goede prestaties van
de accu dient u de accu altijd op te laden bij een
temperatuur van 18–24°C. Laad de accu niet op wanneer
de temperatuur lager is dan 0°C of hoger dan 40°C.

Dit is belangrijk. Als u zich niet aan deze veiligheidsregel
houdt, kan de accu ernstig beschadigd raken.
• Verbrand de accuset niet, ook niet wanneer deze ernstig
beschadigd is of niet meer opgeladen kan worden. In
vuur kan de accu exploderen.
• Probeer nooit de accu te openen. Als de kunststof
behuizing van de accu openbreekt of scheurt, mag de
accu niet meer gebruikt en opgeladen worden.
• De accuset maakt gebruik van nikkel-cadmium cellen.
Cadmium wordt beschouwd als een giftig materiaal.
Gooi een beschadigde of versleten accu weg op een
milieuvriendelijke manier.
Uitpakken
Vanwege de moderne massaproductietechnieken is het niet
waarschijnlijk dat uw GMC-gereedschap gebreken vertoont
of dat er een onderdeel ontbreekt. Als u ziet dat er iets
niet in orde is, gebruik het gereedschap dan niet totdat de
onderdelen vervangen zijn of het defect is hersteld. Indien
u dit niet doet, kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel.
