1. InserttheprovidedCDintoyourcomputer’sdiscdrive.
2. Apop‐upwindowwillappearonyourcomputerscreentitled‘WelcometotheDCsoftware
Page’.
3. Choosefromthefollowingoptions:
‐ArcSoftImagingSoftware:installphotoandvideoeditingsoftware(PhotoImpressionand
VideoImpression)toyourcomputer.
‐InstallDCDriver:installthenecessarydriverstoyourcomputertoenablepicture
downloading.
‐BrowsingCD:BrowsethecontentsoftheCD.
‐Exit:exittheset‐upprogram.

2. Holdthecamerasteadyandpressthe“Shutter”buttontotakephotos.
3. Thecamerawillbeeponcewhenthephotohasbeentaken.
4. TheLCDdisplayhasapicturecounterthatshowsthenumberofpictureslefttobetaken,and
willshow“0”whennomorepicturescanbetaken.
5. Thequalityoflightwillaffectthepicturequality.
6. RefertoCameraModes(below)totakevideo,shootthreeconsecutivephotos,orusethetimer.
CameraModes
TurnontheCamera
1. Pressthe“Mode”buttontoturnthecameraon.
2. TheLCDdisplaywilldefaulttoshowinghowmanypicturesareavailabletotake.
Turnoffthecamera
1. Pressthe“Mode”buttonuntil“Off”isshownontheLCDdisplay.
2. Pressthe“Shutter”buttonwithin5secondstoturnoffthecamera.
FlashOperation
1. Determinewhethertoturntheflashonindarkconditions.
2. Turnonthecamera.
3. Push“Light”buttontoturnontheflash.Flashwillbelitonthefrontofthecamera.
AutoShoot/TimerMode
1. Pressthe“Mode”buttonuntil isshownontheLCDdisplay.
2. Pressthe“Shutter”buttonwithin5secondstoactivatethe10secondtimer.Thecamerawill
beeponceeverysecond.
3. After10seconds,thecamerawillbeeponcetoindicatethatthephotohasbeentaken.
Video/AVIMode
1. Pressthe“Mode”buttonuntil isshownontheLCDdisplay.
2. Pressthe“Shutter”buttonwithin5secondstoactivateVideoModeandstartrecording.Donot
releasethe“Shutter”buttonuntilyouwanttostoprecording.Thecamerawillbeeponcefor
eachframerecordeduntilthe“Shutter”buttonisreleasedorthememoryisfull.
3. InVideoMode,thevideoistakenwithQVGACompressionandsavedasanAVIvideofile.You
mayopenitfromthephotodownloadsoftware.
NOTE:Videomayfailduetopoorlighting.

2. Pressthe“Shutter”buttonwithin5secondstotakethreeconsecutivephotos.Thecamerawill

FlashFrequency
1. Pleasekeepthefrequencyofthecameraflashinlinewiththatofthenaturallightintheroom.
2. Normally,theUnitedStatesuses60Hzfluorescentlampfrequency,soUSusersshoulduse“60”.
JapanandEuropeuse50Hz,soJapaneseandEuropeanusersshouldsetthecamerato“50”.
3. Pressthe“Mode”buttonuntil“60”isshownontheLCDdisplay.
4. Pressthe“Shutter”buttononcetoswitchfrom“50”to“60”hertzfrequency.
5. Toswitchfrom“60”backto“50”hertzfrequency,pressthe“Mode”buttonuntil“50”isshown
ontheLCDdisplay.Pressthe“Shutter”buttononcetoswitchfrom“60”backto“50”.
NOTE:Ifthewrongfrequencyisselected,linebendingmayoccurinphotosorvideos.
DOWNLOADINGTOYOURCOMPUTER
Whenyourcamera’smemoryisfull(oratanytime),downloadyourphotostothecomputer.Thenyou
candeletetheoldphotosoffofthecameratofreeupmemory.
NOTE:Installthecameradriverandphotosoftwareonyourcomputerbeforeconnectingthecamerato
thecomputer.Pleasesee‘SoftwareInstallation’ifyouhavenotdonethis.
1. UsethesuppliedUSBcabletoconnectthecomputertothedigitalcamera.Thecamerawill
makeabeepsoundindicatingtheconnectionisworkingproperly.
2. Browsetothe“MyComputer”folderandopenthe“MyDSC2”folderinstalledonyourdesktop.
Next,openupthe“MyDSC2”program.
3. Clicktheiconofthepinkcameraonthebottomleftofthewindowtodownloadthepictures
fromthecameratothesoftware.Youcannowchoosetoselectallofthephotosfromthe
camera,edittheimages,orsavetheimages.Youcanalsoselectindividualimagesbyleft‐
clickingonanimage.Right‐clickanimagetopreviewit.
Interpolation
NOTE:Youcaninterpolateanimageto1.3MP(MegaPixels)throughthe“MyDSC2”interface.Click
the“EditImage”icon.Awindowwillpopupasshownbelow.Interpolateanimageto1.3MPby
clickingontheHighQualityModeoption.
PCCamera
1. UsethesuppliedUSBcabletoconnectthecomputertothedigitalcamera.Thecamerawill
makeabeepsoundindicatingtheconnectionisworkingproperly.
2. Browsetothe“MyComputer”folderandopenthe“MyDSC2”folder.Next,openupthe
“PCCam”program.
3. Thefollowinginterfacewillappear:
4. ThecameraisnowanactivePCCam.Navigatetothe“Capture”settingandchoose“Start
Capture”tobeginrecordingavideofile.Theprogramwillaskyoutodesignateaplacetosave
thevideofile,andfilesize.Navigateto“Capture”andchoose“StopCapture”tofinishrecording.

UsingPhotoImpression5youcandownloadphotosfromyourcamera,edit,print,andsharephotos.
