Operating your Hair Clipper

6
BEFORE YOU START
Ensure Clipper is clean and properly oiled.
Place a towel around neck to prevent hair
falling inside collar. Position person so their
head is at a good level to see clearly what you
are doing. Comb hair to remove all tangles.
Hold clipper in a relaxed grip –this helps to
achieve control and therefore an accurate cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUTS USING
ATTACHMENT COMBS
Hold attachment comb with teeth up
Snap comb attachment to bottom of clipper
blade.
Comb #1 Cuts hair to about 3mm long
Comb #2 Cuts hair to about 6mm long
Comb #3 Cuts hair to about 9mm long
Comb #4 Cuts hair to about 12mm long
HELPFUL HINTS
We recommend that you trim a small piece of
hair initially while you get used to using the
Clipper.
We recommend that you start with the longest
attachment comb, then move on to a shorter
comb if you wish hair length to be shorter.
To achieve an even cut, move the Clipper
slowly and evenly; do not force it through the
hair quickly. The Clipper works best when you
work at its natural speed.
Begin by following the natural direction of the
hair.

FOR SIDES AND BACK OF HEAD
Place longest attachment comb on Clipper.
Hold Clipper gently against hair with
attachment comb teeth pointing up but sitting
flat against the head.
Trim sides of head, starting at bottom and
moving upwards.
Move Clipper slowly and outward, moving
through hair a small amount at a time.
Repeat around whole head.
FOR SHORTER HAIR
Change to a shorter attachment comb or use a
firmer pressure and tilt Clipper closer to head.
FOR TOP OF HEAD
Place attachment comb teeth flat against head
and trim slowly from front to back.
We recommend that you cut longer to start
with, then continue trimming until you reach
your desired hair length.
OUTLINING AROUND EARS
Do not use attachment combs for outlining.
Push lever to close-cut position.
Comb hair into style. Place clipper between
side burns and ear, ensuring corner edge of
blade is on hairline.
Use hair outline as a guide and carefully and
slowly run Clipper around and behind ears.
SHORT CUTS –CREW CUTS, ETC
Use longest attachment comb first.
Hold Clipper flat against head and cut from
back of neck up and to crown.
Repeat for sides, moving from bottom up.
For front of head, cut hair against its natural
growth direction. Even up sides.
FOR FLAT TOP
Do not use attachment combs. Use flat comb
and cut hair on top of head over the comb.
TAPERING HAIR
To taper hair to neckline, use shorter
attachment comb. Check for uneven spots by
coming hair. Outline sideburns and neckline
(see Outlining instructions earlier).
ADJUSTABLE LEVER
The lever is located near where your thumb sits
on the Clipper side (if you are right handed).
The Lever allows you to gradually change
closeness of cut without removing/replacing
attachment combs.
When the Lever is in the uppermost position,
blades give the closest cut, leaving hair very
short.
Push the Lever down gradually to slowly
increase cutting length.
In bottommost position, the Lever leaves hair
about the same length as the #1 attachment
comb.
The Lever also extends life of blades as a
different cutting edge is used in each setting.
KEEPING BLADES CLEAR
While the Clipper is running, quickly move
Adjustable Lever from topmost to bottommost
position 2-3 times. If you do this each time you
use the Clipper, it will help to keep blade clear
of hair trimmings.
If your Clipper stops cutting and the action
described above does not help, the blades are
probably dulled and will need to be replaced.

Maintaining your Hair Clipper
JAMMED BLADES
If very heavy cutting has jammed the blades,
the Adjustable Lever can be used to help
remove hair that is wedged between the two
blades. You may need to remove the blades if
you have allowed them to become very heavily
jammed
Clipper blades were oiled and aligned during
production.
If blades are removed for cleaning or
replacement, they must be realigned.
To realign blades, math the upper and bottom
blades tooth by tooth. The end of the top
blade’s teeth should be about 1.2mm back from
the bottom blade.
If blade alignment is incorrect, add a few drops
of oil to the blades, turn Clipper on for a few
seconds, turn off and unplug. Loosen screws
slightly and adjust. Tighten screws after blades
are correctly aligned.
OILING
To keep your Clipper in top condition, it should
be oiled every few cuts. DO NOT use hair oil,
grease, oil mixed with kerosene or any type of
solvent.
POWER SCREW
You can adjust the power of the Clipper using
the Power Screw. It has been adjusted during
production but if your home voltage is low it may
need further adjustment.
To adjust, use a screwdriver or thin coin to turn
Power Screw clockwise until arm strikes coil,
making a noise. Then slowly turn Power Screw
anti-clockwise until the noise stops. This is the
maximum power setting.
