which are known to the State of California to cause cancer,

Thank you for purchasing a Good Direcons Cupola.
Our expertly craed cupolas are designed and
manufactured to be low maintenance.
Roofs
• Wooden roofs should be shingled or covered with metal prior to
installaon.
• Polished copper roofs will pana naturally over me. If you would like
to maintain the polished copper nish, you may spray the roof with a
metal-specic clear lacquer.
Wood Cupolas
• Wood cupolas should be primed and painted to protect the wood from
the elements. They should be repainted periodically to ensure the
wood connues to be protected.
Vinyl Cupolas
• Vinyl cupolas are designed to be maintenance free. You may clean
your cupola with a mild detergent. We do not recommend using harsh
chemicals.
• Vinyl cupolas may be painted with vinyl-specic paint to match the
look of your home.
Care and Maintenance
Required (Not Included) : Waterproof caulk, (4) 2 x 4” boards, (2) 1 x 3” boards, Pencil,
Tape Measure, Ulity Knife, Saw, Drill, Level, Addional 3” Screws
1. Determine your Roof Pitch.
As seen below, nail (2) 1 x 3” boards
together so they pivot. Straddle the roof
with each board as shown. We recommend
cung the ridge cap to ensure the cupola
will sit evenly on the roof ridge. Ensure that
each side is at against the roof and the
cross secon is centered and aligns with the
peak of your roof. Mark the boards with a
pencil. This becomes your cung template.

2. Mark the Cupola Base
Using a tape measure to determine the
center of the base, mark the center line
(top to boom) on two opposite sides
of the cupola base. Using the cung
template, draw a line from the boom
corners of the base to the center (see
le). This is your cung line. Start cuts
at the corners and end in the center.

3. Posion the Cupola.
Place the base on the roof in
your desired posion. Caulk
the 2 x 4” boards (as shown
to the right) and place them
on the roof so they are snug
against the inside walls of the
cupola base. Screw them into
the roof.
4. Mounng the Cupola
Pre-drill holes into the base
(seen to the right) prior to
installaon. Ensure the base
is level. Secure the cupola
base to the 2 x 4” boards.
Aer the base has been
installed, place caulk where
the base and roof meet on
the angled sides.
5. Assembling the Cupola
Once the base is secured
to the roof, aach the mid-
secon to the base using the
screws (provided) in the
pre-drilled holes. Install the
roof in the same manner.
Good Direcons cupolas are weathervane ready. A 3/4” hole on top
of the cupola and an internal mounng bracket underneath the roof
are standard. If you are installing a weathervane in your cupola, you
will need to mount the weathervane before nal assembly of the
cupola. If you are not mounng a weathervane, please use the cupola
seal provided.
Top O Your Cupola
Weathervane Mounng

into the cupola roof.
2. Secure the weathervane rod in place by
