2. INSTALLINGSOFTWAREDRIVER
Beforeconnectingthiscameratoacomputer for thefirsttime,you shouldinstalladriver on thecomputer. The
driverison theCD-ROM discprovidedinthepackage.Toinstallthedriver:
1. Insertinstaller CDintotheCD-ROM drive
2. ClosetheCD-ROM drive. Aninstaller wizardwill automaticallylaunch.

5. PREPARATION
Loading the Battery into the Camera
PleaseloadtheNP60 batterypackintothecharger according tofollowingsteps:
1.Slidethebatterycompartmentcover openinthedirection asindicated
2. Face thebatteryup withlettersideupward.Follow thebatteryinjection direction accordingtothecorrect
polaritymarks(+or-) and plugthebatteryintocamera
3. After thebatteriesareproperlyinstalled, closethebatterycompartmentdoor firmly
Note:
uPleasefullychargeLi-ionbatterypack foratleastthree hoursbeforeusingcamera.
uIfyou remove thebatteryfromthecamera, you willneedtosetthedateandtime againthenexttime you
reinsertthebatteryandusethecamera.
Inserting and Removing anSD Card(Optional)
Thevideocameracomeswith64 MBpre-buildmemorywhichallowsyou tostorepictures, movies, recorded
voice. You canexpandthememorycapacityby usinganoptionalSD or MMCmemorycardup to512MB.To
insertamemorycard, refertothefigureaboveand:

usedindevicesother thanyour camera.Toformat, see [Format] inSETUPMODE (see page19).
lIf theBuilt-inmemory/SD cardisfull, theLCDdisplaywill show"MEMORYFULL"flashing in
redcolor. If theSD cardiswrite-protected, theSD cardicon willchangeinredcolor.
Protecting Data on anSD Card
TheSD cardcomeswithawrite-protect switch.Whenthewrite-protect
switchisset totheLockposition,thecardwillbecomenon-writable.To
ensurethat thecameracanoperate normally,you shouldset thewrite-
protect switchtotheUnlockposition beforeinsertingtheSD card.
If you insertawrite-protectedcard, themediaicon on theLCDdisplaywillbecomered.
