Thewatersoftenermustbesetmanually,usingthewaterhardnessdial.
Thewatersoftenerisdesignedtoremovemineralsandsaltsfromthewater,whichwouldhave
adetrimentaloradverseeffectontheoperationoftheappliance.Thehigherthe
contentofthesemineralsandsalts,theharderyourwateris.Thesoftenershouldbe
adjustedaccordingtothehardnessofthewaterinyourarea.YourlocalWaterAuthority
canadviseyouonthehardnessofthewaterinyourarea.
AdjustingSaltConsumption
Thedishwasherisdesignedtoallowforadjustingtheamountofsaltconsumedbasedon
thehardnessofthewaterused.Thisisintendedtooptimizeandcustomizethelevelof
saltconsumptionsothatthesaltconsumptioncouldbesetproceedasfollows:
1.Unscrewthecapfromthesaltcontainer
2.Thereisaringonthecontainerwithanarrowonit(see
figuretotheside),ifnecessary,rotatetheringinthe
anticlockwisedirectionfromthe “-”Settingtowardthe
“”sign,basedonthehardnessofthewaterbeingused.
Itisrecommendedthatadjustmentsshouldbemadein
accordancewiththefollowingschema:

Thesaltcontainerislocatedbeneaththelowerrackandshouldbefilledasfollows:

Onlyusesaltspecificallydesignedforuseindishwashers!Allothertypesof
saltnotspecificallydesignedforuseinadishwasher,especiallytablesalt,will
damagethewatersoftener.Incaseofdamagescausedbytheuseofunsuitable
saltthemanufacturerdoesnotgiveanywarrantynorisliableforanycaused
damages.
Onlyfillwithsaltjustbeforestartingoneofthecompletewashingprogrammes.
Thiswillpreventanygrainsofsaltorsaltywater,whichmayhavebeensplit,
remainingofthebottomofthemachineforanyperiodoftime,whichmaycause
corrosion.
Afterthefirstwashcyclethecontrolpanellightexpires.
ARemovethelowerbasketandthenunscrewandremovethecapfromthesaltcontainer.
BIfyouarefillingthecontainerforthefirsttime,fill2/3ofitsvolumewithwater(around500ml).
CPlacetheendofthefunnel(supplied)intotheholeandintroduceabout1,2kgofsalt.Itis
Normalforasmallamountofwatertocomeoutofthesaltcontainer.
DCarefullyscrewthecapbackon.
EUsually,thesaltwarninglightwillbeoffin2-6afterthesaltcontainerbefilledwithsalt.days
NOTE:
Rinseaidisautomaticallyaddedduringthelastrinse,ensuringthoroughrinsing,andspot
andstreakfreedrying.
Onlyusebrandedrinseaidfordishwasher.Neverfilltherinseaiddispenserwithany
othersubstances(e.g.dishwashercleaningagent,liquiddetergent).Thiswoulddamage
theappliance.

Thesaltcontainermustberefilledwhenthesaltwarninglightinthecontrolpanelcomeson.1.
Thoughthesaltcontainerisfilledenough,theindicatorlightmaynotblackout
beforethesaltfullydissolve.
Ifthereisnosaltwarninglightinthecontrolpanel(forsomemodels),youcanjudgewhentoload
thesaltintothesoftener bythecyclesthatthedishwasherhadrun(seethefollowingschema).

Toopenthedispenser,turnthecaptothe"open"(left)arrowandliftitout.
Pourtherinseaidintothedispenser,beingcarefulnottooverfill.
Replacethecapbyinsertingitalignedwith"open"arrowandturningittotheclosed(right)arrow.
Therinseaidisreleasedduringthefinalrinsetopreventwaterfromformingdropletsonyourdishes
thatcanleavespotsandstreaks.Italsoimprovesdryingbyallowingwatertosheetoffthedishes.
Yourdishwashersaredesignedtouseliquidrinseaids.Therinseaiddispenserislocatedinsidethe
doornexttothedetergentdispenser.Tofillthedispenser,openthecapandpourtherinseaidinto
thedispenseruntilthelevelindicatorturnscompletelyblack.Thevolumeoftherinseaidcontainer
isabout140ml.
Becarefulnottooverfillthedispenser,becausethiscouldcauseoversudsing.Wipeawayanyspills
withadampcloth.Don'tforgettoreplacethecapbeforeyouclosedishwasherdoor.

Cleanupanyrinseaidsplitduringfillingwithanabsorbentclothtoavoidexcessfoaming
duringthenextwash.
Therinseaiddispenserhassixorfoursettings.Alwaysstartwiththedispenserseton
“2”.Ifspotsandpoordryingareproblems,increasetheamountofrinseaiddispensed
byremovingthedispenserlidandrotatingthedialto “3”.Ifthedishesstillarenot
dryingproperlyorarespotted,adjustthedialtothenexthighernumberuntilyourdishes
arespot-free.Wesuggestyoutoseton “4”(Factoryvalueis “4”)

Theuseof “normal”washingprogrammesinconjunctionwithconcentrateddetergents
reducespollutionandisgoodforyourdishes;thesewashprogrammesarespeciallymatched
tothedirt-dissolvingpropertiesoftheenzymesoftheconcentrateddetergent.Forthisreason
“normal”washprogrammesinwhichconcentrateddetergentsareusedcanachievethe
sameresultsthatcanotherwiseonlybeachievedusing “intensive”programmes.
Detergenttabletsofdifferentbrandsdissolveatdifferentspeeds.Forthisreasonsome
detergenttabletscannotdissolveanddeveloptheirfullcleaningpowerduringshort
programmes.Thereforepleaseuselongprogrammeswhenusingdetergenttablets,to
unsurethecompleteremovalofdetergentresiduals.
Thedispensermustberefilledbeforethestartofeachwashcyclefollowingtheinstructions
providedintheWashCycleTable?Yourdishwashersuselessdetergentandrinseaid
thenconventionaldishwashers.Generally,onlyonetablespoonofdetergentisneededfor

Filterassembly
Forbestperformanceandresults,thefilterassemblymustbecleaned.Thefilterefficiently
removesfoodparticlesfromthewashwater,allowingittoberecirculatedduringthecycle.For
thisreason,itisagoodideatoremovethelargerfoodparticlestrappedinthefilteraftereach
washcyclebyrinsingthesemicircularfilterandcupunderrunningwater.Toremovethefilter
assembly,pullonthecuphandleintheupwarddirection.Theentirefilterassemblyshouldbe
cleanedonceaweek.
Tocleanthecoarsefilterandthefinefilter,useacleaningbrush.Then,reassemblethefilter
partsasshowninthefiguresleftandreinserttheentireassemblyinthedishwasher,positioning
initsseatandpressingdownward.
Thedishwashermustneverbeusedwithoutthefilters.Improperreplacementofthefiltermay
reducetheperformanceleveloftheapplianceanddamagedishesandutensils.
Neverrunthedishwasherwithoutthefiltersinplace.Whencleaningthefilters,don'tknockon
them.Otherwise,thefilterscouldbecontortedandtheperformanceofdishwashercouldbe
debased.
