INTRODUCTION
A local area WiFi network allows users to easily exc ange data between computers located in t e same room
or in different rooms, s are an Internet connection and/or a printer among several computers, play network
games and, above all, does away wit t e need for kilometers wort of cables.
By following t e instructions in t is manual, you will be able to install a local area WiFi network and secure it.
MORE DETAILED INFORMATION
Once installation of t e drivers for your key is complete, you can access a more detailed manual, in PDF
format, directly on your computer by clicking Start - All Programs - H rcul s Wir l ss N USB. In it, you will
find all of t e information you need to learn ow to configure and use your Hercules Wireless N USB.
HERCULES WIRELESS N USB INSTALLATION
B for conn cting your H rcul s Wir l ss N USB, you must first install Hercules WiFi Station,
w ic includes t e drivers and t e WiFi Station application, a utility for detecting networks and configuring
network settings.
1 - Installing th WiFi Station pack and th USB k y
To install Hercules WiFi Station, proceed as follows:
- Insert t e included installation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
The installation menu appears automatically.

- Double-click My Comput r or Comput r (Windows Vista).
- Double-click .
- If necessary, double-click S tup. x .
- Click Install WiFi Station – USB v rsion.
- Follow t e on-screen instructions.
Windows XP/2000/Vista
- W en t e installation Assistant prompts you to connect your WiFi adapter,
conn ct your H rcul s Wir l ss N USB to a USB port. For information on t e
different ways to connect t e Hercules Wireless N USB to your computer, please
refer to t e manual - C apter 2.2 Conn cting H rcul s Wir l ss N USB to your
comput r.

The Assistant automatically detects your adapter and continues the installation. If the Windows New
Hardware Found window appears wait until it closes.
Once installation is complete the Hercules WiFi Station icon appears in the taskbar and WiFi Station is
launched automatically.

2 - Conn cting to a n twork
Wit your Hercules Wireless N USB key, t ere are 2 ways to connect to a network: t e quick and easy met od
by simply pressing t e button located on t e side of t e key, or via t e standard met od of selecting t e
network you wis to connect to in t e list of networks detected.
The button connection method (WPS):
T e button met od is only possible if t e network to w ic you want to connect is equipped wit t e "WiFi
Protected Setup" function. T is function is generally indicated by way of t e WPS logo .
If you own a Hercules device from t e "Wireless N" range, you can use t is connection met od; if not, please
first verify w et er your equipment features t is function.
1. Press t e button on t e device managing t e network to w ic you want to connect (a router, for
example).
2. Press t e button located on t e side of t e Hercules Wireless N USB key.
T e process takes about 2 minutes from t e time you press t e button on t e device managing t e network.
W en t is amount of time as elapsed, you will be connected to t e network and you won't ave to repeat t is
procedure for t e next connection.
T e button met od automatically generates a WPA2 security key if no key as been previously defined.
NB 1: If t e device managing t e network does not ave a button but is compatible wit t e WPS function,
please refer to t e us r manual available on t e installation CD-ROM.
NB 2: It is possible not to press t e button on t e Hercules Wireless N USB key using t e met od known as
PIN. T e WiFi Station software gives you access to a user interface, and will guide you t roug t is
procedure.
The ist of networks connection method:
Please launc t e WiFi Station software if it is not already running, and refer to t e main page; a scan of
available WiFi networks is carried out automatically. T e List of d t ct d n tworks lists all security-enabled,
non security-enabled or idden networks, of Infrastructure or Ad oc type.

be free from material defects and manufacturing flaws for a period of two (2) years from t e original date of
purc ase. S ould t e product appear to be defective during t e warranty period, immediately contact
Tec nical Support, w o will indicate t e procedure to follow. If t e defect is confirmed, t e product must be
returned to its place of purc ase (or any ot er location indicated by Tec nical Support).
Wit in t e context of t is warranty, t e consumer’s defective product will, at Tec nical Support’s option, be
eit er repaired or replaced. W ere aut orized by applicable law, t e full liability of Guillemot and its
subsidiaries (including for indirect damages) is limited to t e repair or replacement of t e Hercules product.
T e consumer’s legal rig ts wit respect to legislation applicable to t e sale of consumer goods are not
affected by t is warranty.
T is warranty s all not apply: (1) if t e product as been modified, opened, altered, or as suffered damage
as a result of inappropriate or abusive use, negligence, an accident, normal wear, or any ot er cause not
