Operating Guide
Thank you for purchasing GVA digital camera. Before use of this video camera, please read this user
manual carefully and place it in a safe place for future reference.
Note: The operating guide is prepared with the latest available information. The specification of unit in
the package is subject to change without prior notice.
Maintenance and precautions for the digital camera
1. Use proper protection to avoid scratching the lens and screen.
2. To clean the lens, blow away the dust on its surface, then use cloth or tissue to clean lens. If
necessary, use lens cleaner. Never use organic cleaners to clean the digital camera.
3. Never touch the lens with your hands or fingers.
4. When left idle for long periods of time, store the digital camera in a dry and dark place with the
batteries removed.
Other notices:
1. When switching digital camera mode, be sure to exit from the play or record mode.
2. Never store the digital camera in extremely high temperatures, such as a hot car or where there is a
lot of moisture.
Maintenance and precautions for Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card:
Note: if your Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card has been used previously with other devices /
cameras ore is brand new, the card may require to be formatted. Please ensure you have all valuable
records before formatting.
1. Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card required (not included / up to 32GB).
2. When buying Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card, be sure to take the digital camera with you so as
to ensure compatibility.
3. Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card cannot be used for permanent data storage. Copy the
documents in the digital camera to your computer.
4. When storing documents onto the Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card, make sure that the size of
the documents does not exceed the capacity of the memory.

a computer that uses the video camera. However, we strongly recommend that you use a better
computer device to operate the video camera so as to offer the best efficiency. The minimum system

Start To Use
Installing batteries
This digital camera uses 3 AAA alkaline batteries. For replacement of batteries, turn off the power of the
digital camera first.
Open the battery compartment cover, install batteries according to the correct polarity of battery on the
sides of the battery compartment, and then close the battery compartment cover.
Install Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card
Insert a Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card (not included) into the memory card slot.
To remove the memory card, press the Micro SD / Micro SDHC memory card down and then remove it.

Attention: Before replacing the memory card, please turn off the power of the digital camera.
For card insertion, insert the card in the correct direction. Do not force the card to avoid
damaging the card or the parts of the digital camera. If you cannot insert the card, please
check whether the card is inserted in correct direction.
If a memory card is used for the first time or a memory card has been used in another
digital camera, please format the memory card first.

Start up
Press the power button for 3 seconds and then release it; the camera is started up.
Mode switchover
After startup, the digital camera will enter the photographing mode; you can press the mode button to
switch over to the video recording mode and the playback mode; in the playback mode, you can press
the mode button to switch over back to the photographing mode.
Video recording
In the video recording mode, you can press the shutter button once to start video recording, and press it
again to stop video recording.
Photographing
In the photographing mode, you can press the shutter button to take a photo.
Playback
In the playback mode, you can view photos and can also play the video camera recorded videos.
View a photo: Use the T button or W button to select a photo or video.
Play a movie: Use the T button or W button to select a movie you want to play, and press the shutter
button once to start playing; you can press the shutter button again to stop the playing.
Shutdown
In the power-on state, press the power button for 3 seconds, the video camera will be shut down.
If the video camera is in a free state and is not operated for a time period exceeding the set automatic
shutdown time (1 min/ 3 min/ 5 min), it will be automatically shut down to save power.
Menu setup
In the photographing, video recording or playback mode, press the power button to open the menu (after
opening the menu, you can press the shutter button to switch over from the photographing menu or
video recording menu to the setup menu), and then press theW button or T key to select a submenu and
press the shutter button to enter the submenu. In menu selection, the selected menu option will be
highlighted.

Date and time setup
Press the power button to open the menu, and then press the shutter button to enter the setup menu.
Press the W button to select the “Date & Time” menu option, and then press the shutter button to enter
the setup window.
In the setup window, press the mode button to select the option to be adjusted (date, time), and the
selected option will be displayed in blue background. Afterwards, press the T/W button to adjust the
value; after the adjustment is over, press the shutter key to confirm or press the power button to cancel
the setting and to return. Finally, press the power button to exit the setup mode.
Computer connection
Before connecting a computer, please use the installation CD to install the video camera driver first.
Start up the video camera, and then use the USB cable in the accessories to connect the video camera
to a usable USB port of a computer; select the USB mode as MSDC (mobile disk) or PC CAM (pickup
head mode), and then connect the USB port to the video camera, the video camera will accordingly
enter the mobile disk or pickup head mode.
Advanced Operations
Photographing mode
After startup, use the mode button to select the video recording mode.
Press the shutter button to start video recording; press the shutter button again to stop video recording.
Press the T button or W button to conduct digital zoom.
Use of LED light: In the photographing or video recording mode, you can press the delete button to turn
on or off the LED light. (In the playback mode, the LED light is unusable.)

Attentions: Hold the digital camera stably when photographing; it is preferable to place it onto a
support, e.g., tripod, etc., so as to obtain clear photos.
After the shutter button is pressed to take a photo, the operation indicator light will light up;
at this moment, do not move the video camera. The digital camera can be moved only after
the operation indicator light is off, so as to avoid taking blurry photos.
Do not press the photographing button during video recording, as the button does not
function at this time.

◆Menu setup
Under photographing mode, press the menu button to open the main menu for video recording, press
the W/T button to select a menu option and then press the shutter button to enter the sub-menu. In the
sub-menu, press the shutter button to confirm and to return to the main menu (or directly press the
power button to return to the main menu), and press the W/T button to conduct selection. After returning
to the main menu, you can press the power button to exit the menu.
In menu selection, the selected menu option will be highlighted.

Attention: When you enter the exposure sub-menu to adjust the exposure compensation, and use the
mode button to adjust the exposure compensation value, the brightness of picture on the screen will
change accordingly. After the setting is completed, press the shutter key to confirm and to return to the
main menu, or press the power button to cancel the setting.

◆Menu setup

Setup menu
Whether in video recording mode or in photographing or playback mode, press the menu to open the
main menu, and then press the shutter button to enter the main menu of setup menu. Afterwards, press
the W/T button to select a menu option and then press the shutter button to enter the sub-menu. In the
sub-menu, press the W button or T button to select an option, and then press the shutter button to
confirm (press the power button to directly return to the main menu for setup).After returning to the main
menu, you can press the menu button to exit the menu.
In menu selection, the selected menu option will be highlighted.

For date & time setting, use the mode button to switch over the option to be set, and press the W button
or the T button to adjust the value. Press the shutter button to confirm, or press the power button to
cancel the setting and to return to the main menu.
Playback mode
In the video recording mode, press the mode button to enter the playback mode.
In the playback mode, press the T button to select a file forwards or press the W button to select a file
backwards.
After the video recording mode is selected, press the shutter button to start playing; at this moment,
there is a playing timer displayed on the upper right corner of the screen. During playing, you can press
the shutter button to stop the playing.

Connect computer to download photos /videos
After the video camera is connected to a computer and enters the mobile disk mode, there will be a
newly added mobile disk in the “My Computer” window, you can store the taken photos or recorded
videos under the directory “DCIM\100MEDIA” in the mobile disk, and you can enter the directory to copy
files to the hard disk of your computer.

Attention: During file download, do not disconnect the USB connection; insertion or removal of the
memory card shall not be conducted under USB connection condition to avoid data loss.

Use pickup head function
Before using the pickup head function, be sure to confirm that the digital camera driver has been
installed on the computer. After the driver is installed, there will be a newly added menu option
“SPCA1528 PC Driver” in the “Start → All programs” menu, where there will be a shortcut icon .
After the video camera is connected to a computer and enters the pickup head mode, you can open the
AMCAP window by click the shortcut icon (as shown in the following figure). There will be images
corresponding to the lens of the video camera displayed in the AMCAP window. If the AMCAP software
is not opened, you can use the pickup head function to transfer video images via network.
Attention: If the pickup head function is used the first time after the driver is installed in the computer, the
computer will automatically search for the new hardware; only after there is a prompt for successful
installation on the lower left corner of the computer, the pickup head function can be used. For the
camera, select “PCCam” under the "USB mode" in the setup menu and then exit the menu; afterwards,
connect it to the computer.
Ensure that the
“Preview” option in the
“Options” menu is
selected.

Install Driver and Software
The attached CD contains the digital camera driver and the presented application software MAGIX Video
easy SE and MAGIX Photo Manager MX (which can be used to process videos and photos.)
Installation interface
Insert the CD into the CD driver of the computer, the system will automatically run the installation
programs in the CD and the following installation guide window will appear on the screen.
(It may take several seconds to run the automatic installation program depending on the computer
performance. If there is no installation window appearing, please open “My Computer” and run the
“ ” in the CD.)
Install driver
Click the “Install Driver” in the installation guide window, and complete the installation step by step
according to the instruction.
Please re-start the computer after the driver is installed.
After the corresponding in the installation guide window are clicked, the application software
MAGIX Video easy SE and MAGIX Photo Manager MX can be installed step by step according to
the instruction.
For the use method, click the “User manual” in the installation guide window.

FAQ
The video camera cannot
be started after the

The Good Guys Warranty Statement
1. Warranty against defects
The Good Guys warrants the product to be free of any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the
date of purchase (“Warranty”). However, the Warranty does not apply with respect of products damaged by unreasonable use
or by use for which the product is not intended. The Warranty will not cover defects resulting from alteration, accident,
misuse, abuse or neglect and the Warranty is otherwise subject to the terms, conditions and stipulations recorded below.
2. Warranty is in addition to your rights under the law
The product The Good Guys supplies come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or
damage. You are also entitled to have the products repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the
failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits accorded to you under this guarantee are in addition to your other rights and remedies any other law in relation to
goods or services to which the Warranty relates.
3. What you must do for The Good Guys to be entitled to claim under the warranty
To make a claim under the Warranty you must:
(a) return the product which you claim is defective to the Seller who supplied our products to you (“Seller”). The product
must be unmarked and complete with instruction books and accessories (such as remote controls, power cords, battery
chargers and connectivity cables) supplied at the time of purchase;
(b) complete a claims form that we have supplied to the Seller for that purpose; and
(c) provide a copy of a proof of purchase to the Sellerto whom you are returning the products. The best proof of purchase is
a tax invoice or receipt. Please discuss any other acceptable proofs of purchase with the Seller.
4. How The Good Guys will honour the warranty
If you comply with paragraph 3 above, and The Good Guys or the Seller determine that the product does not comply with the
Warranty then, the Seller may at its discretion, promptly:
(d) pay to you the cost of repairing or replacing the products or any part of the products; or
(e) replace or repair the product.
(f) Except as to terms, conditions, warranties or guarantees prescribed by law and from which The Good Guys cannot limit
its liability (“prescribed term”):
(1) the liability of The Good Guys and any Seller in respect of a breach of a prescribed term or the Warranty relating
to the products or any part of the products is limited to the options set out in this paragraph 4 above;
(2) in these conditions you do not have under any circumstances any cause of action against or right to claim or
recover from the seller for, or in respect of, any loss or damage of any kind whatsoever, caused directly or indirectly
by:
(a) any defect in material or workmanship of, or any other defect whatsoever in, or unsuitability for, any purpose
of the products or any part of the products; or
(b) by default or negligence on the part of The Good Guys or of any employee, contractor or agent of the seller
or of any person for whom the seller has legal responsibility relating to the supply of, or otherwise
concerning products or any part of the products.
PLEASE note that The Good Guys will honour all consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law to the extent it
is required to do so by that legislation
5. Expense of making warranty claim

Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, if The Good Guys determines that the product you have returned
does not breach the Warranty and The Good Guys does not have a legal obligation to provide you with a remedy in respect of
the returned product (including for breach of a guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law), then:
(a) The Good Guys reserves the right to claim all expenses and costs incurred by The Good Guys in processing the claim
and returning the products; and
(b) The Good Guys will have the right to make a claim against you for any monies that have been paid to you on account of
your claim of breach of the Warranty,
and by returning making the claim for breach of Warranty you agree to this proviso.
Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, where The Good Guys determines that your claim under the
Warranty is correct and there has been a breach of the Warranty, then The Good Guys will determine if it is reasonable to
reimburse your reasonable expenses in making the claim under the Warranty. It will be for The Good Guys to determine
what is a reasonable expense and you will be required to substantiate that expense by documentation acceptable to The Good
Guys
