Getting Started
Before rst use
• Unpack the appliance but keep all packaging materials until you have made sure your new
freezer is undamaged and in good working order.
• Plastic wrapping can be a suocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all
packaging materials are out of their reach.
• Remove all securing tapes and foam from under the condenser at the back of the cabinet.
• Check to ensure you have all of the following parts: Freezer and drawers, 1instruction
manual, and a warranty certicate.
• Read this manual to familiarise yourself with all the parts and operating principles. Pay
particular attention to the safety instructions on the previous pages.
• Unwind the cord to its full length and inspect it for damage. Do not use the appliance if the
appliance or its cord have been damaged. In such a case, contact our after sales support
line for advice.
• Make sure the freezer is disconnected from the power supply before cleaning the interior
surfaces with lukewarm water using a soft cloth to remove any dust from transit and
storage. Dry the appliance thoroughly.
• Your freezer has the capability of the door opening from the right or left side. If your setup
requires reversal of the door swing, follow the instructions on pages 11.
• Your new freezer is now ready for installation.
Installing the bar fridge
• Before installing your new upright freezer, read all safety instructions in this manual,
especially the sections on electrical safety and installation. Then follow the instructions
below.
• Place the freezer on a sturdy, level oor that is strong enough to support the unit when it is
fully loaded.
• Locate the freezer:
• Away from direct sunlight, which may aect the acrylic coating.
• Away from sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.), which may increase the
freezer’s power consumption.
• In an area without extreme cold ambient temperatures, which may aect the cooling
performance.
• In an area without excessive moisture and high humidity.
• Installing the unit in the coolest area of the room will save energy consumption and
running costs.
• To level the freezer, adjust the levelling legs at the bottom of the unit.

8
• Allow at least 12cm clear space between the back and sides of the unit and your wall
or another appliance to ensure proper air circulation, which is necessary to cool the
compressor and condenser.
• Before plugging in your new freezer, let it stand upright for approximately 2
hours. This will allow the refrigerant gases to settle into the compressor and reduce
the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system.
• Plug the unit into an exclusive, properly installed and earthed wall outlet. Do not
under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power
cord. If in doubt about your setup, direct any questions concerning power and/or
grounding to a certied electrician or an authorised service centre.
• Secure the freezer’s supply cord behind the unit. Do not leave it exposed or dangling
to prevent injury and accidental disconnection from the power supply.
• After plugging the appliance into a wall outlet, allow the unit to cool down for 2
to 3 hours before placing food in the freezer compartment.
Getting Started (Cont.)

9
Setting the temperature control
The temperature control is located
above the upper drawer (2) Please
refer to Parts List on page 6. It can be
set from position “1” (warmest) to “7”
(coldest).
• The rst time you turn the unit on,
set the temperature control to the
maximum position.
• Then, after 24 hours, adjust the
temperature control to the setting that suits your needs, between 5 and 6 should be
appropriate for standard use.
• To turn the freezer o, turn the temperature control to “0”.
NOTE: Turning the temperature control to the “0” position stops the cooling cycle but
does not shut o the power to the freezer. If the unit is unplugged, has lost power
or is turned o, you must wait 3 to 5minutes before restarting the unit. The unit
will not start if you attempt to restart it before this time delay.
Hints and tips
• This appliance is designed for domestic use only, specically for long-term storage of
frozen food.
• As the storage life of frozen foods varies, do not exceed any recommended storage
times. Always check dates on packets. Although storing some foods for longer than
recommended may not be harmful, avours and textures may begin to change.
• Place frozen food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase. If there are
instructions on the packet, carefully follow these instructions regarding storage times.
• The freezer door is susceptible to breaking due to excessive ice build-up. Be sure to
defrost when the ice is ½cm thick.
• Once you have opened a packet of frozen food, rewrap it airtight to prevent surface
evaporation which causes drying or freezer burn.
• Frozen food which has thawed accidentally should either be used immediately or
thrown away. Alternatively, if the food is uncooked and has not been completely
defrosted, it may be cooked and then refrozen.
• If your ice-cream is soft, you are running your freezer too warm. Select a higher
temperature setting.

moist cloth.
2. Insert the power supply cord into the socket.
3. Turn the thermostat dial to “7”. Close the door and let the fridge operate for 15-20 minutes.
Temperature Control
To control the internal temperature, adjust the thermostat dial. “1” is the warmest setting. “7” is
the coldest. The Dial may be set any place on the scale. It does not have to be set exactly on a
number. To make ice cubes in the freezer compartment, adjust the thermostat to the coldest
setting.
Note: Wait 3-5 minutes before restarting if you unplug the fridge. The unit may fail to operate
properly if restarted too quickly.
How To Defrost
Defrost the fridge when the frost accumulated on the evaporator is about 1/8” thick.Set the
thermostat dial to “OFF”or “0” to defrost. Remove all contents from the freezer compartment.
Leave the freezer door open to allow accumulated ice/frost to melt. Remove large pieces of ice
as need. Do not use hot water or other electric heating devices to melt the accumulated ice.
After defrosting, remove accumulated ice/water and wipe the freezer compartment with a soft
cloth. Restart the unit per starting instructions.

Instructions (Cont.)
Power failure
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not aect the
temperature inside your freezer, if you minimise the number of times the door is
opened. However, if the power is going to be o for a longer period of time, you need
to take proper steps to protect your food. Do not refreeze frozen food without checking
its condition rst. If in doubt, discard the food. Do not refreeze food that has thawed
completely.
Vacation time
• Short vacation: Leave the freezer operating during vacations of less than 3weeks.
• Long vacation: If the freezer will not be used for several months, remove all food and
unplug the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odour and
mould growth, leave the door open slightly, blocking it open, if necessary.
Moving your unit
• Remove all food from inside the freezer.
• Securely tape down all loose items inside the freezer.
• Turn the levelling feet up to the base to avoid damage.
• Tape the door shut.
• Protect the outside of the unit with a blanket or similar soft material to prevent
scratching and make sure the freezer stays secure in the upright position during
transportation.
Energy saving tips
• Locate the freezer in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing
appliances and out of direct sunlight.
• Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing them in the freezer.
Overloading the freezer forces the compressor to run longer.
• Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the
freezer. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the unit.
• Do not line the freezer storage drawers with aluminium foil, wax paper or paper
towelling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the freezer less ecient.
• Organise and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as
many items as needed at one time and close the door as soon as possible.

Care and Maintenance
Defrosting the freezer
When? For the most ecient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the
freezer compartment when the frost on the freezer walls is excessive, or about half a
centimetre thick.
How? To start defrosting, turn the temperature control (above the upper drawer) to
“OFF”, unplug the freezer and remove the food and storage drawers. (Keep any frozen
food temporarily in a fridge, cooler bag or covered with paper to keep defrosting to a
minimum.)
After the frost or ice in the freezer has melted, discard the melted water and clean and/
or dry all interior freezer surfaces thoroughly. (See below for how to clean the interior
surfaces.) Then turn the freezer thermostat to the desired setting to restart the freezer.
CAUTION! Do not use boiling water to accelerate defrosting because it may damage the
plastic parts. In addition, never use a sharp or metallic instrument to remove
frost as it may damage the cooling system. To scrape ice o surfaces, use a
plastic scraper.
Cleaning the freezer
We recommend cleaning the freezer after defrosting it, while all frozen food and
drawers are already removed from the compartment.
• Make sure the freezer is unplugged from the power supply, the temperature control is
set to 0 and all food and storage drawers are removed.
• Wash the inside surfaces with a solution of warm water and baking soda (about 2
tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in 1.2 litres of water).
• Wash the drawers with a mild detergent solution. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean, soft
cloth.
• Clean the outside of the unit with mild detergent and warm water.
• Make sure to wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning around the
area of the controls or any electrical connections.
CAUTION! Always unplug the unit from the power supply before cleaning and
maintenance. Failure to unplug it could result in electrical shock or personal
injury.

13
Responsible disposal

rubbish. Electrical and electronic products contain substances that can have
a detrimental eect on the environment and human health if disposed of
inappropriately. Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical
consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately for recycling and recovery of the
refrigerant. Contact your local authorities for advice on recycling facilities in your area.
• Before discarding your freezer, disconnect it from the power supply and cut o and
render any plug useless.

take o the door and leave the shelves in place so that children cannot easily climb
inside.
Responsible Disposal

14
Troubleshooting
If you experience a problem with your freezer, check in the following table for solutions
to help you solve the problem. If after these checks you still have a problem with your
freezer, call the after sales support line for advice.
Problem Solution
No power to the
appliance.
Ensure that there is power at the socket (plug another appliance
into the outlet to check that it is working).
Make sure that the plug is fully inserted into the wall socket and
power to the socket is switched on.
Make sure there is no general power outage (check the
household lights).
Check the fuse has not blown or the circuit breaker tripped.
The temperature
in the freezer
section is too
high.
Ensure the ambient temperature is within the freezer’s operating
limits: 16ºC to 32ºC.
Check the temperature control is turned to the correct setting
relative to your ambient conditions.
The door may have been kept open too long or is opened too
frequently. Warm air enters the freezer every time the door is
opened. Open the door less often.
Make sure the door is completely closed and the door gasket is
clean and sealing properly.
If lots of warm food has been stored recently, the freezer will
need a little time to reach its set temperature.
If the freezer was recently disconnected for some time, it will
need at least 2 hours before it will have cooled down to the set
temperature.
The freezer door
will not open.
If the door has just been opened, leave it for a few minutes to al-
low the air pressure to equalise before trying again.
The door will not
close.
Make sure that the freezer is properly levelled.
Ensure that the door gasket is clean.
Moisture forms
on the inside or
outside freezer
walls.
Hot and humid weather increases the internal rate of frost build-
up. This is normal.
Open the door less often and make sure it is always properly
closed.

15
Troubleshooting (Cont.)
Problem Solution
The external
freezer surface is
warm.
The exterior freezer walls can be warmer than room temperature.
This is normal while the compressor works to transfer heat from
inside the freezer cabinet.
The compressor
runs continuously,
or turns on and o
very frequently.
Select a lower temperature setting.
Check that the door is closed completely and that the door
gasket is clean and seals properly.
Large quantities of food have recently been placed in the cabinet
and/or the door is frequently opened.
Check that any ventilation openings are not obstructed.
If the freezer was recently disconnected for some time, it will
need at least 2 hours before it will have cooled down to the set
temperature.
If the room temperature is hotter than usual, the compressor has
to work harder to maintain the correct temperature.
Excessive frost
and ice has built
up.
Ensure the door is not left open.
Check that nothing is preventing the door from closing.
Check that the door gasket is intact and clean.
Ensure the freezer is defrosted periodically.
Vibrations Ensure the oor is even and the freezer is not touching a wall.
Strange noises
Normal operating sounds (described below) are no cause for
concern.
Faint gurgling or bubbling sounds, like water boiling, are
produced when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or
tubing at the back of the freezer to the cooling plate/evaporator.
Whirring sounds or pulsating noises from the compressor are
produced when the compressor is on and the refrigerant is being
pumped through the coils.
Faint clicking noises are produced when the thermostat cuts in
and out, which controls the compressor.
