level signal to feed recording devices or mixing
consoles
valid for HB 115B MK III only:
PRE this switch toggles the point where the DI OUT
signal is tapped. Press the button if you want the
DI OUT to provide the pre-effects signal. Release
the button if you want the DI OUT to provide the

3. Installation
Mains voltage
Please ensure that your local area’s mains power voltage matches
the mains power specication of your amp as indicated on its rear
panel before you connect the unit to an AC mains power outlet!
Mains connection
Use the enclosed power cable to connect the unit’s MAINS IN to a properly
wired and earthed (!) IEC power socket. The cable meets all of the international
safety certication requirements.
Speaker connection
Use the SPEAKER OUT sockets to connect external speaker cabinets. HB 115B
MK III allows to switch on/off the built-in horn using the HORN OFF switch.
Caution:
Before you connect an external speaker to HB 115B MK III you must
disconnect the internal speaker. Otherwise the overall impedance will drop
below 4 ohms and the amplier will be damaged!
NEVER connect an external speaker or a mono plug to the output jack for the
internal speakers as this output uses a special pin assignment (tip = horn, ring
= woofer sleeve = ground)!
Audio connections
The set is equipped with mono phone jacks, except for the headphones output
which is a stereo jack (TRS).
Here you see some useful wiring schematics for the most usual connector
types:
1/4″ stereo TRS jack plug unbalanced use of mono 1/4″ plug.

Using headphones
You can connect headphones to your bass amp with a 1/4” TRS jackplug (not
supplied). When you have connected the headphones, the loudspeakers are
disconnected and you will only hear sound via the headphones.
Important! Listening to music with headphones for long periods
and at high volume levels can lead to permanent hearing
damage!
