Applications
:
The Control 60PS/T
pendant
subwoofer
loudspeaker
provides bass extension
and
high
impact for high-fidelity
sound
systems in a
wide variety
of
applications including
restaurants, retail stores, music cafes, health
clubs,
theme
bars, leisure venues,
and
other
locations
where
full-range high fidelity
foreground/
background
music systems are
utilized. Featuring 150 Watt
power
handling
and
low distortion, the long-excursion 200 nun
(8 in)
low
frequency driver features butyl
rubber surround for well-damped, tight
sound
quality
and
long-term reliability,
and
a
polypropylene-coated
cone
for humidity
protection.
The
high-temperature 50 mm (2 in)
voice coil
and
low-mass fiberglass coil former
ensure
good
bass transient response
and
excellent stability
under
high power, high duty-
cycle, working conditions.
The
Control 60PS/T may
be
driven by itself
(or
with
other
subwoofers)
on
an
amplifier
channel, sending
it
either a signal that has
been
actively low-passed earlier in the signal
chain via
DSP
or
a full-range signal, utilizing
the
built-in passive 125 Hz low-pass filter. The
included passive crossover also provides high-
passed satellite outputs for use with either two
or
four satellite loudspeakers
(not
for
one
or
three satellite speakers), resulting in a full-
range, wide-bandwidth, passively-crossed,
mono
subwoofer-satellite system. Using the
built-in passive crossover
is
best suited for
satellite
speakers
with sensitivities in
the
82 dB
to 86 dB (2.83V @
lm)
range, resulting
in
a
well-balanced overall frequency response.
A 100 Watt multi-tap, wide-bandwidth, l
ow-
saturation transformer allows
the
speaker
to
be
used
on
either a 70V/100V distributed
speaker
system
or
as a direct low-impedance 8!1
speaker.
If
satellite
speakers
are
used
on
the
70V
/
lO0V
settings,
the
satellite
speakers
should
be low-impedance (8!1 to 16!1 each).
A loop
out
connector
is
provided
on
the
subwoofer
for
looping
the
full-range input
signal to
other
l
oudspeakers
or
to
other
subwoofer
/satellite systems. Rubber
boot
covers for
each
locking
connector
protect
the
terminals
and
the optional MTC-PC60 full-top
cover accessory
adds
additional terminal
protection for
when
using outdoors.

MANUFACTURER'S
RECOMMENDATIONS
Load -Do
not
exceed
the
Safe
Working Load
(SWL)
of
the
Gripple. The
SWL
of
the
Gripple product included
with
this
loudspeaker
is
45
kg
(100 lbs).
No lifting -Do
not
use
for
lifting, such
as
in a crane
or
pulley
situation.
No movement -Gripple hangers are
to
be used
to
suspend
static loads only. Do
not
use
to
suspend
moving
services,
or
services likely
to
be subject
to
movement.
.No
joining
-Gripple hangers must
not
be spliced
together
using aGripplefastener,
or
any other
joining
device. A Gripple
hangerassembly mustcomprise one length
of
cable and one
Gripple fastener only.
If
a longerlength
is
needed,
do
not
attempt
to
join
two
assemblies together.
Limitations
of
use
-All
Gripple hangers, accessories, and
otherGripple products must
only
be used
for
suspending items
recommended
by
the manufacturer.
Painting -
If
painting, ensure
that
aGripple DecorCover
is
applied
to
the
Gripplefastener before painting
to
protectfrom
the
ingress
of
paint. Do
not
move
the
Gripplefastener on
the
cable after painting.
Building codes -Compliance
with
local codes, and where
applicable national codes,
is
the
buyer
and/or
installers
responsibility.
Not
for re-use -Gripple hangers are designed
for
permanent
installations,
not
for
re-use.
Lubricants -Do
not
applyoil
or
any
other
lubricant
to
any part
of
the assembly.
Not
for seismic bracing -ForGripple products
that
have been
tested and approved
for
seismic restraint applications, please
refer
to
the
GrippleSeismic product line.
Round duct/pipes -When wrapping around
duct
or
other
round
pipes,
do
not
exceed an angle
of
60 degrees between
the
top
of
the
pipe and
the
Gripple.
Environment -Standard Gripple hangers may be used
only
in
dry
locations. Stainless steel Gripple hangers maybe used
in
certain
indoor
corrosive environments such
as
properly
ventilated swimming pool arenas.
Failure
to
observe these usage instructions may result in
product malfunction, resulting in propertydamage and
bodily
injury.
