1. Turn off wall switch.
2. This appliance is equipped with an ig-
nitiondevicewhichautomaticallylights
the burner. Donottry to light the burner
by hand.
3. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any
gas. Then smell for gas, including near
the floor. If you smell gas, STOP! Fol-
low "B" in the Safety Informationlocated
on theleft sideof this label. If you don't
smell gas, go to next step.
4. Turn on wall switch.
5. To light the burner, flip the ON/OFF
switch to the “ON” position. (The ON/
OFF switch may include a wall switch
if so equipped).
6. If the appliance will not operate,
check battery then follow the instruc-
tions “To Turn Off Gas to Appliance”
and call your service technician or gas
supplier.

TO TURN OFF
GAS TO APPLIANCE
1. Turn off all electric power to the appli-
ance if service is to be performed.
2. Flip ON/OFF switch to the “OFF” posi-
tion.

A. This appliance is equipped with
an intermittent pilot ignition (IPI)
devicewhichautomaticallylights
the burner. Donottry to light the
burner by hand.
B. BEFORE LIGHTING, smell all
around the appliance area for
gas. Be sure to smell next to the
floor because some gas is
heavierthanairandwillsettleon
the floor.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
•Do not try to light any appliance.
DO NOT CONNECT 110 VAC
TO THE CONTROL VALVE.
Improper installation, adjustment,
alteration, service or maintenance
can cause injury or property dam-
age. Refer to the owner's informa-
tion manual provided with this ap-
pliance.
This appliance needs fresh air for
safeoperationandmustbeinstalled
sothereareprovisionsforadequate
combustionandventilation air.
Ifnotinstalled,operated,andmain-
tained in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions, this
product could expose you to sub-
stances in fuel or fuel combustion
whichareknowntotheStateofCali-
forniatocausecancer,birthdefects,
or other reproductive harm.
Keep burner and control compart-
ment clean. See installation and
operatinginstructions accompany-
ing appliance.
CAUTION:
Hotwhile in operation. Do not
touch.Keepchildren,clothing,fur-
niture, gasoline and other liquids
havingflammablevapors away.
Do not operate the appliance with
panel(s) removed, cracked or bro-
ken. Replacement of the panel(s)
should be done by a licensed or
qualifiedservice person.
•Do not touch any electric switch;
do not use any phone in your build-
ing.
•Immediatelycallyourgassupplier
from a neighbor's phone. Follow
the gas supplier's instructions.
•If you cannot reach your gas sup-
plier, call the fire department.
C. Do not use this appliance if any
parthasbeenunderwater.Imme-
diatelycallaqualifiedservicetech-
niciantoinspecttheapplianceand
to replace any part of the control
systemandanygascontrolwhich
has been under water.
