General safety information
Please read all the instructions carefully before using the product.
Improper use may damage the product and personal property.
• Avoid contact of the wireless transmitter base unit with liquids
as this can damage the product and cause electric shocks.
• The device is not shock resistant. Do not drop it or use the
camera head to strike or bump objects.
• Please screw the splash guard onto the camera head when
using it in damp environments. The camera head is splash-
proof, but not the wireless transmitter base unit. Locate the
base unit in a dry place and avoid any liquid contact with
the wireless transmitter unit.
• Do not use the camera if the lens is fogged up. Allow the
moisture to evaporate completely before using it again.
• Turn the camera off when not in use.
• Charge the device with a suitable 5 Volt USB charger.
• Please observe the local regulations for safe disposal.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures or fire as this
may cause the battery to explode.

This camera is to be used exclusively for the intended purpose in
walls and ceilings for recording technical conditions.
When using this camera, please observe the laws and guidelines
for the protection of personal rights and data protection.
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing Cable Scout Cam. Please read all the
instructions carefully before using this device. With the Cable
Scout Cam you can transmit video images in real time and
make video and picture recordings in confined spaces that are
otherwise hard to see into.
This product is compatible with Android/iOS/Windows/MAC
operating systems.
Version requirements: Android 4.2 and above; iOS 9.0 and
above. The device WLAN SSID is set as “inskam-***”.

5. Operating instructions
Basic operation
1. First, connect the USB jack of the camera to the Wireless
transmittor. Press the power switch for three seconds. The
indicator lamp on the base unit will light. Turn the LED light
switch to adjust the brightness of the LEDs in the camera
head.
2. Increase the brightness of the LED lamps to get a better
picture in dark environments.

6. Application scenarios
Cable Scout Cam use is primarily intended for visual inspection
in conduits, suspended ceilings, dry construction walls, and
air shafts. HellermannTyton does not recommend this product
for use in application scenarios where the product is immersed
in liquids.
Wherever the user expects moisture, the camera lens tube should
be protected with the supplied splash-proof lens cover accessory.
3. The semi-rigid camera cable can be moved in any direction.
With the three attachments (hook, mirror and magnet) small
objects can be found and salvaged if necessary.

7. App Downloading
For Android Version 4.2 or higher:
Search “Inskam” in the Google Play Store
and install the app or download it from
www.inskam.com/download/inskam1.apk
With Android turn off mobile data connection.
For iOS Version 9.0 or higher:
Search “Inskam” in the Apple App store and
install the app.
8. Quick start guide
1. Press the on/off switch for 3 seconds to turn the camera on.
2. Open the WiFi settings on the device you wish to view the
camera image with.
3. The camera WiFi-SSID is “inskam***-xxx”. Click it to connect.

Note: If your device does not find “inskam***-xxx” then please
check the battery level and turn the camera off then on again.
After the connection is successful, click on the Inskam icon to
launch the app and view the live video transmission.
Notice:
If your network adapter prompts you to switch to a different
WiFi, please select “Decline”.
If you cannot review pictures or videos on your phone, please
check the app settings on your device and allow Inskam to
access your image gallery.

9. App operation
Zoom in and out using thumb and forefinger on touchscreens.
You can also rotate the image via the app interface.
10. Important notices
1. The blue light flashes when the battery needs recharging.
2. Charge the device with 5V/2A/1A/500mA. The red light
indicates charging and goes out when fully charged. A full
charge takes 1 hour and can be used for approximately
90 minutes at 480 pixels / 80 minutes at 720 pixels /
70 minutes at 1600 pixels.
3. The camera lens can be sealed against moisture and dirt by
screwing on the IP68 lens cover accessory.

The function “Compared” enables to display a picture on one
side of the screen and to keep filming on the other side.

How to use on Windows PCs:
Please download the zipped software file from
www.kkmoom.com/camera.rar and then install the software.
Switch on the wireless transmitter, plug in the camera USB cable
and open the software. You can now use the camera.
How to use on MACs:
On MacBook OS please use “Photo Booth”, “Quick Time Player”
or “VLC (Video Lan Client) software.
Troubleshooting
No image or noise in the picture:
• Check the WiFi setting of your smartphone; make sure it has
connected to the device.
• Check the camera, makes sure it is connected to the device
correctly and tightly.
• Disconnect and reconnect the camera.
• Close the app and open it again.
• Check the battery level, recharge the battery if the blue light
flashes fast.
