This deployment guide applies to the following device and platform versions:
IP Speaker DS-PA0103-A v6.1.0b9bin
HikCentral v2.1.0
Note: The document is applicable to the versions stated above. If newer firmware or software version is
released in future, the requirements or operation procedures in newer version may be different.

System Requirements
1. For the IP Speaker:
1) DS-PA0103-A on firmware v6.1.0b9bin or newer version;
2) MicroSD card (up to 32GB) to install in IP Speaker;
3) Audio Files (mp3 or wav format, less than 10MB in size).
2. For the HikCentral Client PC:
1) HikCentral on v2.1.0 or newer version with IP Speaker license activated;
2) Windows firewall rule to allow incoming connection on 8877 port;
3) Windows Administrator to run the control client;
4) Windows Administrator to run the web client;
5) Use Google Chrome to upload audio files on HikCentral.
Note: If MicroSD card is not installed in the IP Speaker, the live broadcasting feature is still supported
but some other features are not supported including HikCentral event triggering speaker playing audio
files, and scheduled broadcast.
Connecting IP Speaker to HikCentral
1. Insert the MicroSD card (up to 32GB) to the speaker and connect the speaker (IEEE 802.3af) to a
PoE switch.
Run the NAManager software on a PC located in the same subnet as the speaker to discover the
speaker. You can upgrade the speaker if needed, and double click on the discovered speaker to
configure the device parameters like IP addresses. Updating firmware or changing the device
parameters requires input of the device password, which by default is 1234.

2. After the speaker has been configured with correct network parameters, you can login to the
web page of the speaker. Configure the following parameters on the speaker web page:
1) Go to the speaker web page - Server, enter the HikCentral server IP (here is
192.168.1.110) as server IP, and enter 8877 as the server port.
For the user name and password for server, it is recommended to enter the username
and password of the speaker. And this should match the username and password used in
adding the device on HikCentral. Alternatively, you can enter any username or password
here as long as it matches those used in HikCentral while adding the speaker.
Note: 8877 is the default HikCentral port used for communication with speaker and can
be changed in HikCentral service manager if needed. Device proactively registers to
HikCentral via this port, so in the Windows firewall rule setting, the incoming connections
to this port shall be allowed. For the configured parameters to take effect on Speaker,
you would need to logout the speaker.

2) Go to the speaker web page –Sip Setting –Monitor, enter the 0.0.0.0:9999 in the
multicast address field as shown in the picture below; And in the play volume, 80 or
above is recommended. This defines the volume used in live broadcasting.

3) Go to speaker web page –Overview, copy the serial number of the device to be used in
next step’s adding the device into HikCentral.
3. After above device settings have been completed, go to HikCentral web client –Device and
Server –IP Speaker interface, click on add and enter the parameters of the speaker.
Note: The device port 9999 should match the 9999 used in multicast address (Step 2.2) and
device serial no. should be correct (Step 2.3). The user name and password should match those
configured in Step 2.1.

4. If all the parameters are correct, you will see the device shows online on HikCentral in several
minutes, as well as shows connected in speaker web page –Overview –Server Status (You may
need to logout the speaker web page and log back in to view the latest status).
5. Broadcast group:
You can create a broadcast group on HikCentral to include multiple speakers in the same group
so that the speech or audio files can be broadcasted over multiple speakers at the same time.
For each speaker, volume shall be configured to 80% of the maximum value at least. The volume
defines the volume used for event trigger speaker playing audio files and schedule broadcast.
6. Create Media Library:
In order to play audio files over the speaker, audio files (mp3 or wav format, less than 10MB in
size) shall be uploaded to the media library. Chrome is recommended to use for uploading audio
files as you may encounter issues if using IE.
Live Broadcast via Web Client and Control Client
Live broadcast of speech and audio file is supported on HikCentral web client and control client. For
current version, it requires to run the web client / control client as Windows administrator in order to
broadcast audio files.
1. Live broadcast recording:

If you want to record the live broadcast, go to HikCentral web client –Speaker Unit –Basic
Setting, select corresponding storage location and enable the live broadcasting recording. After
live broadcasting, you will be able to search for the broadcast recording on web client or control
client.
2. Live broadcast on web client:
Run the web browser as administrator, go to HikCentral web client –Live Broadcast, you can
select speakers via broadcast group or area, for the broadcast of speech or audio file.
3. Live broadcast on control client:
Run the control client as administrator, and it supports live broadcast via the following three
menus.
1) Live broadcast via Control Client –Tool:

Event Trigger Speaker Playing Audio
Event such as camera line crossing event can be configured to link with IP Speaker to
automatically play audio files when the event is triggered;
Go to HikCentral web client –Event and Alarm interface, create an event, and configure in the
linkage action to link a specific speaker unit and select an audio file;
This feature requires MicroSD card installed in the speaker.

Scheduled Broadcast
1. You can setup broadcast schedule task for the speakers. Go to HikCentral web client –Speaker
Unit –Scheduled Broadcast, select the speakers, creating the schedule play rule and set the
audio file play sequence;
2. This feature requires MicroSD card installed in the speaker.

FAQ
1. Live broadcast of audio files on web client and control client requires launching the client as
Windows administrator.
2. If you cannot hear any audio via live broadcast, please make sure the multicast address
0.0.0.0:9999 is configured on IP Speaker web page –Sip Setting –Monitor.
3. For live broadcast, the volume is controlled by the play volume option on IP Speaker web page –
Sip Setting –Monitor, and it shall be configured as over 80% of the maximum volume. For event
triggering speaker playing audio file, as well as scheduled broadcast, the volume is controlled by
the volume configured on HikCentral web client –Speaker Unit –Broadcast Group –Speaker
Volume, and it shall be configured as over 80% of the maximum volume.
4. Uploading audio files to HikCentral is recommended to do so on Chrome, as uploading via IE may
result in the page getting stuck in the following loading status.
5. MicroSD card on the speaker supports up to 32GB, and it shall be initialized as FAT32 format.
Otherwise, it may not get identified by the speaker.
6. The audio file is recommended to be the following format: mp3 or wav, 8000HZ sample rate,
mono sound, less than 10MB in file size.
7. Event trigger speaker playing audio and scheduled broadcast requires MicroSD card to be
installed in HikCentral.
8. If WAN access has been enabled on HikCentral, you may get the following downloading failed
error via live audio broadcast. Please contact Hikvision support if you encounter the issue.

9. If you may find the serial number field on the speaker web page is incorrectly displayed with the
MicroSD card information, please try restart your speaker. If still unable to get the serial number,
try unplug the MicroSD card then restart or restore the speaker. This is a known issue will be
fixed in next firmware release of the speaker.
