There is awide range of audio and video equipment that can
be connected toyourTV.
The following connection diagrams showyou where the dif-
ferent equipment should be connected at the rear side ofthe
TV.
Via the Euroconnector
Your TV set has aEuroconnectorsocket. If youwant toconnect
peripherals(e.g.video,decoder,etc.)which haveEuroconnec-
tors,toyourTV,use SCART1 input.
If an external device is connected via Euroconnector sockets
TV is switched toAV mode automatically. If the signal is RGB
then the RGB OSD indicatoris displayed on the screen.
InAVmode ifyou press the “ ”button the TVstatus OSD is
displayed on the screen.
ViaAerial Input
If the equipmentyou wanttoconnecttoyourTV e.g.video re-
corder orsatellite receiver doesnothave aSCART socket,you
should connect it tothe aerial (ANT) socket on your TV.
Decoder
Cable TV offersyou awide choice ofprograms.Mostofthem
are free, others are to be paid forbythe viewer. This means
that you will need to subscribe to the broadcasting organiza-
tion whose programmes you wish to receive. This organiza-
tion will supply you withacorresponding decoderunittoallow
theprogrammesto beunscrambled.

supplied with your decoder.
Connecting adecoder with an aerial socket to the TV
•Connectthe aerial cable.
Connecting adecoder without an aerial socket to the
TV
•Connectthedecoder to your TV witha SCARTlead to
SCART1.When yourdecoderhas aSCART connectoryou
can obtain betterpicturequality ifyou connectaSCART lead
to EXTERNAL.
• Then select the appropriate AV mode by pressing the “AV ”
button.
TVand Video Recorder
•If your video recorder has a SCARTsocketplease connect
it to the TV using a SCART lead. Your TV should also be
connected toyour video recorderusing the aerial RFoutput
socket.
Please note using a SCARTlead will produce betterqualitiy
pictures.
Search for and store the test signal of the
videorecorder
•Unplug the aerial cable from the aerial socket“ANT”ofyour
video recorder.
•Switch on your TV and putthe video recorderon the testsig-
nal. (See the handbook for yourvideo recorder.)
•Enter the Tuning menu via the Install menu.
• Search forthe testsignal ofyourvideo recorderin the same
wayas you searched for andstored the TV signals. See
Tuning,Search and StoreTV channels.Storethe testsignal
underprogrammenumber0.
• Replace the aerial cable in the aerial socket“ANT” ofyour
video recorder once you have stored the test signal.
Camera andCamcorder
Toconnectto Front-AVinput
Connectyour camcorderto the frontof yourTV.
•Connect yourequipment to the TVvia VIDEO (yellow) and
AUDIO (white)inputs.You should connectthe jacks tothe in-
put of the same colour.
Connect the decodertothevideo recorder
Somevideorecordershave aspecialSCART connector for de-
coder.
•ConnectaSCART lead tothe SCART connectorofyourde-
coderand tothe special SCART connectorofyourvideo re-
corder.See also the handbook of your video recorder.
•Toconnectyour video recordertothe TV, see TV and Video
Recorder section.
Ifyouwanttoconnect moreequipmenttoyour TV,consult your

Preparation
Place the TV on a solid surface.
IfplacingtheTV into acabinetoralcove,ensurethere isatleast
a100mm (10cm) gap tothe sides and rearand top ofthe TV.
Thisis to allowforadequate ventilationduringoperation.

DO’s
This Television has been designed and manufactured tomeet
international safety standards,but like any electrical equip-
ment, caremust be taken if you aretoobtain the bestresults
and safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions beforeyou attempttouse
the equipment.

This TV is supplied with a fitted mains plug. This plug must
notbecutoffasitmay containaspecialradio interferencefilter,
the removal ofwhich could lead to impaired performance.If
you wish to extend the lead, obtain an appropriate safety ap-
proved extension lead orconsultyourdealer.
Observethe manufacturersinstructions when connecting ex-
tension leads tothe TV.Check the fuse rating onthe newplug,
this should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse which conforms to ei-
therASTAor BSI (BS1362) approvals, these areeasily iden-
tifiable by either the or symbols. If you are in anydoubt
aboutthe installation ofan extension lead, please consult a
competent electrician.
DON’Ts
DON’T continue to operatethe equipment if you arein any
doubtaboutitworking normally,orifitis damaged in anyway
switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
DON’T place waterfilled vessels on top ofT.V. cabinets.
DON’T removeanyfixed coveras this mayexpose dangerous
voltages.
DON’T leaveequipmentswitchedon when itisunattended un-
less it is specifically stated thatit is designed for unattended
operation orhas astand-bymode.Switch off using the switch
on the equipment and make sure your family knowhow todo
this.Special arrangementsmay need tobe made forinfirmor

Itis illegal to watch television whilst driving.

1. Power Cord
The powersupply cable should be placed so thatitis notlikely
to be walked on or pinched by items placed on oragainst it.
Pay particular attention tothe cable
Whereit entersthe plug,power outlet, and the pointwhereit
emerges from the receiver.
2. Moisture and Water
Donotuse this equipmentin a humid and damp place (avoid
the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen, and near the washing
machine). Do not expose this equipment to rain or water,as
this maybe dangerous and do notplace objectsfilled withliq-
uids on top. Avoid from dripping or splashing.
3. Cleaning
Beforecleaning,unplug the receiverfrom the main supplyout-
let. Donotuse liquid oraerosol cleaners.Clean withasoft dry

holiday,disconnectthe power leadand aerialfrom thewall
outletand disconnectthe aerial plug from the back ofthe tele-

5. Ventilation
The slotsand openings on the receiver are intended for ven-
tilation and to ensurereliable operation.Toprevent overheat-
ing,theseopeningsmustnotbeblockedorcoveredin anyway.
6. Replacement Part
When replacement partsare required, be surethe service
technicianhasused replacement parts whicharespecified
by the manufacturer or have the same specifications as the
originalone.Unauthorizedsubstitutionsmayresultinfire, elec-
trical shock,orotherhazards.
7. Servicing
Pleasereferall servicingtoqualifiedpersonnel.Donotremove
the back cover as this may result in an electric shock.

• Connectthe aerial orcable TV plug intothe RFinputsocket
on the back of the TV.Ifyou arealso connecting avideo re-
corder /satellite receiver, plug the aerial into this equipment
firstand then connectthe RFoutputsocket from this device
tothe RFinputon the back ofthe TV.

Inserting batteries in the remote control
handset
• Place the batteries in the right directions as seen below.
•Removethe battery coverlocated on the back ofthe handset
bygentlypulling upwards from the indicated part.
• Insert two AAA(R03) orequivalent type batteries inside.
•Replace the battery cover.
NOTE: Remove batteries from remote control handset when
itis nottobe used foralong period.Otherwise itcan be dam-
aged due to any leakage of batteries.
Switching theTV ON/OFF
To switchthe TV on
Your TV will switch on in twosteps:
1- Press the powerbutton located on the frontofthe TV.Then
the TV switches itselftostandby mode and the REDLED
located belowthe TVturns on.
2- Toswitch on the TVfrom stand-by mode either:
Pressadigit buttonon theremotecontrolso thataprogramme
numberisselected,
or,
Press Programme Upor Downbuttons on the front of the TV
or on the remotecontrol, so thatlast switched off programme
is selected.
Ineithercase the TV will switch on and theRED LED will turn
toGREEN.
To switch theTV off
•Pressthestand-bybuttononthe remotecontrol, sotheTVwill
switch to stand-bymode and the GREEN LED will become
RED,
or,
Pressthepowerbuttonlocatedon thefrontoftheTV,sothe TV
will switch off and theGREEN LED will turnoff.
Operatingthe TV
You can operate your TV both using the remote control
handsetand onsetbuttons.
A.P.S. (Automatic Programming System)
"PLEASE, CHECK ANTENNACABLE. AUTO PROGRAMMING
SYSTEM"message will be displayed when you turnon your
TV forthe first time.A.P.S., searches and sortsall channels
and stores them automatically on yourTV,according tothe
transmission ofprogramme systems in yourarea.

Operating with the buttons on the TV set
Volume setting and programme selection can be made using
the buttons on the front panel.
Volume Setting
•Press “-V”button to decrease volume or“V+”button to in-
crease volume, so a volume level scale (slider) will be dis-
played atthe middle of the bottom on the screen.
•By pressing boththe “V+”and “-V”buttons atthe same time
you can enter Main menu.
Programme Selecting
•Press “P+”buttontoselect thenextprogramme or
“-P”button to selectthe previous programme.
Operating with Remote Control
The remotecontrol handset of yourTV is designed tocontrol
all the functions of the model you selected. The functions will
be described in accordance with the menu system ofyourTV.
Functions ofthe menu system aredescribed in Menu System
section.
Volume Setting
Press “VOL+”button toincrease volume.Press “VOL-”button
todecrease volume. A volume level scale (slider) will be dis-
played atthe middle of the bottom on the screen.
Programme Selecting (Previous or next programme)
•Press “ ” button to select the previous programme.
•Press “ “button to select the next programme.
Programme Selecting (direct access):
Press digit buttonsonthe remote controlhandset toselect
programmes between 0 and 9. TVwill switch to the selected
programme.Toselectprogrammes between 10 -99,you must
use the double digit button "--".
thisOSD is displayedat the left handupper on the
screen.
Afterthis,pressthedigitbuttonsconsecutively forthepro-
gramme you wanttoselect(eg. forprogramme 27,firstpress
2and then 7).Ifthe second digitis not entered within 3 sec-
onds, this function willdisappear.
Press directly the programme number to reselect single digit
programmes.
Programme Swapping
•Press "P<P"(programme swap) button to select the last
selected programme. This buttonprovides swapping be-
tween last two selected programmes. For example, select
programme 8,then selectprogramme 2.Now,if you press
"P<P"button,programme 8will be selected.If you press the
same button again,programme 2will be selected and so on.
MenuSystem
YourTV has beendesigned withamenu system, toprovide an
easy manipulation of amulti-function system. The TV is con-
trolled by choosing the commands, which are displayed on
the screen.
Press the " "button.The Mainmenu will bedisplayed atthe
middleon the screen.
All the selected itemsin thismenu systemis indicated with
CYAN characters and with an arrowon the leftside ofitems.

•Enterthe Sound Menu directly,pressing the Red button or,

option. In the main menu, select SOUND using “ “ or “ ”

button.

Mode
This item is used to change the picture size.
By pressing “ ” or “ ” button you may choose one off three
options. These are, “4:3”,“16:9”and “AUTO”.
• 4:3 This option forces the pictureratio to 4:3 mode.
•16:9 This option forces the pictureratio to 16:9 mode.
• AUTO This option is available only if your TV has WSS feature.
This allowsto change the picturemode automatically,ac-
cording to the transmission ofthe selected channel. For
example,yourTV is 4:3mode,but the transmission of that
channel isin16:9mode.If you selecttheAUTO mode,the TV
isswitchedto16:9modeautomatically.IftheTV isin4:3
mode andthe pictureratio ofthechannelisalso4:3,there will
be no affect selecting the picture mode to AUTOmode.
WSS featureis onlyused in TVand F-AVmodes.Forthe Pic-
tureMode selection in AV-1the pin 8(of Scart) value is used.
InRGBmodesthe Picture Mode canbe4:3or16:9(Auto mode
is notavailable.).

•Press “ ”or “ ”button on STORE option to store Picture
menusettings.
The storedpicture mode setting will be valid only in current
program.However,the otherstoredvalues inPictureMenu will
be valid for all the programmes

Asyou enterthe Featuremenu,SLEEP TIMERwill be the first
selected option. Use “ ”or “ ”button to change the Sleep
Timer valuesbetweenOFF,0:15:00,0:30:00,0:45:00, 1:00:00,
1:15:00,1:30:00,1:45:00and 2:00:00.
Itis displayed on the upperrightof the screen. Ifsleep timer
is activated itis displayed withthe TV status and erased with
it after 3seconds.

If thereis only one minuteleftofthe countdownofthe timer,it
is displayed automaticallyon the upperrightofthe screen,and
stayed there until finishing.Then TV goesautomatically to

You can use this featuretoprevent children turning on TVor
changing programs or adjustments etc. withoutremote con-
trol.
The CHILD LOCK featurecan be setby “ ” or “ ” button to
either ON or OFF.When OFFisselected,therewillbenodiffer-
ence in the operation ofyourTV.WhenON is selected,the TV
can only be controlled bythe remote control handset. Inthis
case,the frontpanel buttons (exceptthe Switch On/Off button)
will not work.

•Toenterthe Install menu directly,press theBLUE button,or
•Press " " button,now you arein Main menu. In the Main
menu,select“INSTALL.”using “ “or“ ”button.Then enter
the Install menu pressing “ ”or “ ”button.
Selecting Programme

Selecting Search
Tostartthesearchprocess,press “ ” button for forward
searchor “ ” button forbackward search. SEARCH item
blinksduring search process,since theprocess is stopped
or signal is found. During search process the semi-transpar-
ent menu background becomes "BLUE". To stop the search
process “ ” or “ ” button must bepressed again.

Selecting Fine Tuning
You can use the Fine Tuning process for fine adjustment (af-
ter coarse adjustment), if you are nothappy about the image
on the screen.

Programme Menu
• Toenter Programme menu directly,press the " " button,
or
•Press " " button,now you arein Main menu. In the Main
menu, select “PROGRAM.” using “ “ or“ ” button. Then
enter the Programme menu pressing “ ” or “ ” button.
By moving the cursorin fourdirections you can reach 30 pro-
grammes in the same page. Byscrollingthe pages upor
downbypressing the navigation buttons you can selectall the
programmes in TV mode (except the AVmode).
Inmenus,“ “and “ ”buttons areworking like "Direction Up"
and "Direction Down".
By cursor action, programme selection is done automatically.
Selected programme is displayed with“CYAN” characters.In
order to selectprogramme is also possible by using digit or
double-digit button. In this way programme selection is auto-
matic and afterselection the selected programme is displayed
with cyan characters. The TV Status is changed by the pro-
grammeselectiontoo.Whenusingdouble-digitbuttonin
order to select aprogramme, the Programme Numberin TV
Status OSDis displayed in "P--"form, and by pressing digit
buttons they aredisplayed in it.
ProgrammeNumber is between00and99.Programme
Namehasanamestringwith 5characters.Afterautostore
process the Programme Namesare setto"PR01"(pro-
gramme number),
At the bottom ofthe menu thereis aprogramme sort functions
section. Each function is activated by colour button (seen be-
low). NAME allows changing the programme name. By DE-
LETE youcandeleteprogrammes thatyoudonotrequire.
INSERT sectionis for inserting programmesintoanother
programme spaces. By selecting AUTOSTORE section,
Autostore menu will be available.
Tochange the nameofaparticular programme,Select thepro-
gramme and push theRED (NAME) button.The firstletterbe-
gins to blink on the selected name. To change that letter“ “
or“ ”button can be used,and toselectthe otherletters,“ ”
or“ ”buttoncan be used.Ifthecursorisatthe lastletterofthe
Programme Name, pressing “ ”button moves the cursorat
the beginning.Onthe contrary,ifthe cursoris atthe beginning
ofthe Programme Name,pressing “ ”buttonmovesthe
cursor atthe end.

AUTOSTOREINSERT DELETENAME
Afterchanging the nameby pressingtheRED button (STORE)
itis stored. Afteractivating the name process the “INSERT”,
“DELETE”and “AUTOSTORE”processes will be inactiveand
"CANCEL"option will be valid. This option cancels the name
process, ifyou do not wish to store the newname.
WhentheGREEN buttonispressed,"NAME", "AUTOSTORE"
and "DELETE"functions areerased, the selected programme
(A) is displayed withgreen characters. From nowon, the au-
tomatic selection is canceled. Cursors moves are indicated
with“CYAN”characters.Withnavigation buttons,the decided
program space (B) can be selected and bypressing the green
button again the programme will be inserted into that space.
All programmes belowthe inserted programme will move
down by one number.
"CANCEL"function cancels the activated "INSERT"process.
For"DELETE"process press the yellowbutton,(“NAME”, “IN-
SERT”and “AUTOSTORE”functions areinactive). Pressing
yellowbutton again erases the selected programme from the
programmelist,andtheprogrammesbelowshiftoneup.
Pressingbluebutton cancelstheactivated “DELETE”process.
ToenterAutostoremenu,press tothe blue button.Tolearnthe
features ofthis function see "AUTOSTORE"below.
Autostore
(A.P.S. :Automatic Programming System)
A.P.S, searches and stores all channels automaticallyon your
TV,according to the transmission of programme systems in
yourarea.

stereo options the sound indicatoris displayed withthem too.

in place of the programme number indicator.
Afterthat, in ordertoenteraprogramme press twodigitscon-
secutively.Bothdigitsmustbe entered within 3seconds orthe
function will disappear.
PersonalPreferences(PP)
All the presetvalues will be restored,when pressing "PP".
PictureMode
If yourTV has the WSS feature,the picturemode OSD is dis-
playedbelowthe soundindicator,byTV Status OSD’s.Accord-
ing to the WSS data, inside of the OSD box“4:3” or “16:9” or
“AUTO”is written.
By pressing “ ”(TXT_UPDATE)button (ifTeletextis notac-
tive)the picturemode can be switched into 4:3, 16:9orAuto
Mode.
Sleep Timer Last Minute Indicator
It is displayed on the upperrightofthe screen.If sleep timeris
activated itis displayed with the TVstatus and erased with it
after 3 seconds.
If thereis only one minuteof the countdownleftofthe timer,it
is displayed automaticallyon the upperleft of the screen,and
staysthereuntil time is reached.Then TV goes automatically
tostand-by.
Mute Indicator
Itis placed in the upper middle of the screen when enabled,
and it stays there until it is disabled.
Tocancel mute,therearetwoalternative;thefirstone is press-
ing to " " button, thus volume is set to the preceding value,
and the second one is increasing the volume level, thus it
starts attheminimum level toincrease. By decreasing the
volume level in mute state, mute will not be ignored, only the
volume level will decrease.If muteis cancelled afterdecreas-
ing the volume level, the volume will returnat the decreased
level.
No-Signal
No-SignalTimerIndicator
Itis displayed in the middle of the screen when no valid sig-
nal detected. Itshows the time remaining before the switch-
ing tothe Stand-Bymode (it takes 5minutes when no signal
detected or no anyRemote Control command is accessed).
The indicatoris displayed for3seconds when thereis no valid
signal.
AfteraRemoteControl command (if No-SignalTimerisactive)
the timerstops and ifno signal detected again the timeris ini-
tialized to5minutes and starts3seconds lateragain tocount
down.
It is notvalid in AVmode.
Blue Background During No-Signal
Incase,no validsignalisdetected (in TVorAVmode) Blue Back-
ground is activated.During search process Blue Background
is not active. But instead there is another feature given; the
semi-transparentmenubackgroundisbecomesblue.
VolumeBar
Itis displayed in the lowermiddle ofthe screen.When avol-
ume command is received (pressing “VOL+” or “VOL-” by
RemoteControl orFrontpanel)and no menu is active,itstays
on the screen for 3 seconds, afterthe last volume command
or until another command is received in between.
AVModes
By pressing the “ AV “buttonyou canswitchyourTVtoAVV
modes (exceptbeingin Teletext).Pressingthis button
consecutivelywill switch the TV in one offtheAVmodes:AV-1,
F-AV,RGB.
AV-1 supportsthe RGBmode.Butifthereissome colourprob-
lem in AV-1 mode, please force the AV mode toRGB mode.
Inorder toquit the AV mode press the “

Teletext
Teletextis an information system thatdisplaystexton yourTV
screen.Using the Teletextinformation system you can view a
page of information on asubjectthat is available in the list of
contents (index).
On screen displayis notavailable in text mode.
Contrast, brightness orcolourcontrol is notavailable,butvol-
ume control is available in text mode.
To operate Teletext
•Selecta TVstation on which Teletextis being transmitted.
•Press (TELETEXT)“ ”button.Usuallythe listofcontents
(index)is displayed on the screen.
To select apage of Teletext
•Press the appropriatedigitbuttons forthe required Teletext
page number.
The selected page numberis displayed at the top left corner
ofthe screen.The Teletextpage countersearches until the se-
lected page numberis located,so thatthe desired page is dis-
played on the screen.
•Press “ ” button to move the Teletext screen forward one
page at a time.
•Press “ ”button tomovethe Teletextscreen backwardone
page at a time.
To Select IndexPage
•Toselectthe page numberofthe index(generallypage 100),
press “ ” button.
To Select Teletext with a TV Programme
•Press “ ” button.The text is nowsuperimposed over the
programme on the screen.

Searchingfor a page while watchingTV
• While Teletext Modeison, pressing“ ” will changethe
mode toTV,one more press to“ ”will change the mode
from TV tothe latest Teletextpage weleft. Inthe TV mode enter
apage number using digit keys.Asyou enter digitsfirst line
ofteletext pagewillappearontop screenand willremain
thereuntil the requested page is found.Then teletextline will
be replaced bypage numbertoindicatethatpage has been
found.Now you can displaythis teletextpage pressing “ ”
button.
ToSelect DoubleHeight Text
• Press “ ” button forthe top half ofthe information page to
be displayed in double heighttext.
• Press “ ”“ button again for the bottom half of the informa-
tion page to be displayed in double height text.
•Press “ ”button oncemore forthefull pageofnormalheight
text.
To Reveal“concealed” Information
•Pressing “ ”button once will reveal answers on a quizor
gamespage.
• Pressing“ ”buttonagain willconceal therevealed an-
swers.
To Stop Automatic Page Change
The teletextpage you haveselected may contain moreinfor-
mation than what is on the screen; the rest of the information
will be displayed aftera period of time.
•Press “ ” button to stop the automatic page change.
•Press “ ” buttonagaintoallow thenextpagetobedis-
played.
To Select a SubcodePage
Subcode pages are subsections of long Teletext pages that
can onlybe displayed on the screen one section ata time.
•Select the required Teletextpage.
•Press “ ”button.
•Select the required subcode page number by pressing four
digit buttons (e.g. 0001).
•If the selected subcode page is notdisplayed in ashort time,
press “ ”button. TV programme will be displayed on the
screen.
•Teletextpage numberwill be displayed on the upperleftcor-
ner of the screen when the selected page is found.
• Press “ ” button to display the selected Teletextpage.
Fastext
Your CTV supports the 7pageTeletext system. When the page
number of anyof the 7 pages in memory is entered, thesystem
will not search for the requested page;instead itwill display the
page automatically.
• Press “ ” button tomove the Teletext screen forwardone
page at a time.
• Press “ ” button tomovethe Teletextscreen backwardone
page at a time.
ForFastext
The subject-heading for the information may haveaparticu-
lar colour.
•Press an appropriateRED, GREEN, YELLOW or BLUEbut-
ton in order to reach the relevant page quickly.

To Displaythe Time
• While watching aTV programme with Teletext transmission
press “ ” button. The current time information, captured
from Teletext will be displayed at the upper middle ofthe

•Iftheprogrammebeingwatcheddoesnothave Teletexttrans-
mission, no iformation will be displayed.
Tips
Care of the Screen
Clean the screen withaslightly damp, softcloth. Do notuse
abrasivesolventsas theymay damage the TV screen coating
layer
Poor Picture
Have you selected the correct TV system? Is your TV set or
house aerial located too closeto the loudspeakers, non-
earthed audio equipmentor neon lights, etc. ?
Mountains or high buildings can cause double picturesor
ghost images. Sometimes you can improve the picture qual-
ityby changing the direction of the aerial.
Is the pictureor Teletext unrecognisable? Check if you have
entered the correct frequency.
Thepicturequality maydegradewhentwoperipheralsare
connected tothe TV atthe same time.Insuch acase,discon-
nect one of the peripherals.
No Picture
Is the aerialconnectedproperly?Are the plugs connected
tightlytothe aerial socket?Is the aerial cable damaged? Are
suitable plugs used toconnect the aerial? If you arein doubt,
consult your dealer.
NoPicture means thatyourTV is not receiving anytransmis-
sion. Haveyou pressed the correct keys on the remotecon-
trol? Try once more.
Sound
Youcannothearanysound. Didyou perhapsinterruptthe
sound, pressing “ ” key?
RemoteControl
Your TVno longerresponds to the remote control. Press the
“
TV
” button on the remotecontrol once more. Perhaps the
batteries are exhausted.If so you can still use the local keys
atthe front ofyourTV.
Haveyou selected the wrong menu? Press “

”keytoreturn
toTV mode orpress “ ”to return to the previous menu.
No solution
Switch your TV set off and on. If this does not work, call the
service personnel; never attempt to repair ityourself.
