1. PREFACE
We express our sincere thanks for purchasing our Portable Media Player (PMP)!
Before operating this PMP, be sure to read this user manual carefully. After reading it, please
keep it in a safe place for future reference.
We reserve the right to make changes to this PMP and/or this user manual without notice.
Please visit our company’s website listed on the product packaging for additional product
information and/or updates.
Note: The pictures, diagrams and certain functions described in this manual may differ from
the actual product due to different models.
2. PRECAUTIONS:
Before operating this PMP, please read the following precautions carefully:
A. Do not operate this PMP in extremely cold, hot, dusty or damp environment.
B. Avoid putting this PMP under direct sunlight
C. Do not scrub this PMP with a hard thing; it may result in scratches on the screen and/or
damage to the hardware.
D. Before inserting or pulling out the game card or SD card, please turn off the PMP power
first. Inserting or pulling out the card, while the PMP is on may cause damage to the
PMP and/or the card.
E. Keep this PMP and all accessories out of children’s reach under 3 years old.
F. Charge the PMP when:

* The PMP powers off automatically, immediately after turned on.
G. Avoid operating this PMP under very dry environment to prevent damage from
static-shock.
H. Do not disconnect the USB cable while formatting, uploading or downloading files;
disconnecting USB cable will result in file corruption and may require reformatting.
I. When used as a removeable disk, users should backup important data. Our company
is not responsibel for loss of data.
J. This PMP does not have any user-serviceable parts or accessories, do not try to
disassemble this PMP. Use only the AC charger that came with this PMP to charge it.
Try not to charge the PMP while using it.
K. Follow instructions in section “U-Disk and USB Driver” for saving downloading video,
music, photos or other files in appropriate folders. Not following the instructions will
result in the PMP failing to play these files.
L. After deleting files directly from the PMP, please turn off the PMP once before
connecting it to the computer. Otherwise, the file folder DCIM/100MEDIA under this
PMP’s removable disk may not be found.
M. After inserting or pulling out the earphones many times, the PMP’s built-in speakers or
the earphones may not work. If this happens, press “RESET” button or long press
“power” button to restart the PMP.
N. While taking photos or making a video, avoid shaking the PMP to make sure the image
quality is not bad.
O. While operating this PMP, protect camera’s lens from accidental scratches. Scratches
on the lens will affect image quality.

6. CHARGING THE PMP:
I) Battery Status:
NOTE: If the PMP can’t be turned on, it could be because the built-in battery is not charged,
please charge the battery first.
II) Charging Battery:
Insert AC charger into an electric outlet, then insert the round output terminal of the charger
into the charging port of this PMP (1). When the PMP is charging, the charging indicator LED
(6) will become red; when battery is fully charged, the LED will turn-off. When charging for the
first time, it may take up to 6 hours to fully charge the PMP.
Important:
• Only use the provided AC Charger to charge this PMP. The charger is for indoor use
only. Remove the charger from electric outlet when not in use. Don’t try to repair,
disassemble or modify the charger.
• If you don’t use the PMP for a long time, please fully charge it every 2-3 months.
• PMP can be charged with both Power ON or OFF. But it’s strongly recommended to
charge the PMP with Power OFF.

7. BASIC OPERATION:
I) Turning the PMP ON
Under power off status, long press the “Power” button to turn the PMP ON. The Green LED
will be ON and the PMP will display the Main Menu.
NOTE: No matter whether the “HOLD” button is locked or not before the PMP is turned on,
long pressing the “POWER” button can turn on the PMP.
Important:
• If this PMP has an SD or MMC card in the Card Slot, while turning it on, the screen may
take longer to come on since the system is reading the card.
• Don’t press any buttons while the card is being read, doing so may freeze the PMP and
you may have to press the “RESET” button.
II) Turning the PMP OFF
From any operating mode, long pressing the “POWER” button will turn the PMP OFF (except
when the PMP is locked using the “HOLD” button. While the PMP is turning OFF, it
displays the power off message.
Important: Sometimes you may see a vertical black line on the right side of the power off
message, which is normal.
III) PMP Turning OFF Automatically
The PMP will turn off automatically.
a. If the PMP is not used for 3 minutes
b. If the battery charge is extremely low
Important: If the set time for automatic power off function is “never”, then the PMP will not turn
OFF automatically.
IV) RESET ⇒position recovery button
If the PMP gets locked or freezes due to wrong operation or some other reason, press the
RESET button (13), then long press the “POWER” button to turn the PMP back ON again.
V) HOLD ⇒Lock button
The “HOLD” key can be chosen for locking the buttons on the PMP surface to avoid wrong
operations. Under any operation mode, you can move the “HOLD” key to the left to lock the
Player; a lock sign will be displayed on the bottom of the screen. To unlock the buttons, move
the “HOLD” button to the right.
VI) Operation of navigation keys
The navigation keys consist of 4 direction buttons “◄”, “►”, “▲” and “▼”. See Diagram below:

During the menu operation, the navigation keys can be used for moving the cursor to select
an item. In Play Mode, “◄” and “►” keys are used for “fast rewind” and “fast forward”
respectively. In Game Mode, the buttons are used for controlling the object’s direction.
8. DETAILED EXPLAINATION OF OPERATION:
I) Main Menu
The following section will highlight different Menu selections
NOTE: During menu operation, navigation information is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
Please note that Confirm/OK key is labeled “∆”
II) Game Mode
Before you can play the games, you will have to copy games from the CD to this PMP’s built-in
memory or the external memory card. Follow these steps to copy games to the PMP:
1. Before connecting PMP to your PC using USB Cable, Turn PMP Power ON and select

TOOLS from the Main Menu, then select USB. PMP display will read UDisk
management…. Now you can connect the USB Cable; the display will read MSDC.
Important: for details on how to connect this PMP to your PC,
explanation of removable disk drives and default folders on the PMP,
read Section 9 (U-Disk and USB Driver) of this user manual.
2. Copy game files from CD labeled GIFT to the PMP. To copy the games:
a. Insert CD labeled GIFT in your computer’s CD-ROM Drive
b. Open Folder named ENGLISH on the CD. You will find 5 sub-folders, these
folders hold game files, sub-folders are used on the CD to group games into
different categories
c. Copy and paste (or drag & drop) game files from CD-ROM Drive to the “GAME”
folder on your PMP.
d. Important: Do not copy sub-folders from CD to the GAME folder on the PM
because PMP won’t recognize game files. Instead, copy game files from
the sub-folders on the CD to the GAME folder on the PMP.
3. Once your are done transferring the file, the green light on the PMP will stop flashing
and will be solid green. You can now unplug the USB Cable from the PMP. Follow
instructions below to play these games.
Select “Game” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button. See figure below:
Select “Game Camp” option to display list of games and press “∆“ button to display list of
games.

Press “▲” and “▼” to select the game you want to play and press ”∆“ button to confirm
selection. While playing, the navigation keys are used for controlling the movement of the
objects, for example moving forwards, backwards, up, down, left, right, fast-forward,
fast-backward, etc. “□”& “X” buttons are used to confirm, shoot, skip, etc. You can display
information about the function of different keys to play these games by selecting “Game Help”
from Game sub-menu.
Press ”PLAY“ button to pause the game and Press ”ESC“ button to exit the game.
Exit from Game Mode
While playing a game press “ESC“ button to return to the Game sub-menu, and “ESC again to
return to the Main Menu.
III) DV (Digital Video) Mode:
Select “DV” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button

You will see the subject you are trying to capture/view as well as the information in the figure
shown below on the LCD Screen:
Important:
• To start making the video press “PLAY” button. You will see the time-counter being
displayed in lower left corner, as shown in the figure above, indicating that video
recording is on. To stop making the video press “PLAY” again.
• The time being displayed is, the approximate recording time left based on the free
memory available. Please note that one (1) minute’s recording takes about 5MB of
memory. When the memory is full, you will see “MEMORY FULL” message in the upper
right corner.
NOTE: Memory consumption for videos/photos taken in the low-light is a little less than the
memory consumption for videos/photos taken in well-lit area. That is also the reason for
difference in estimated shooting time and the actual shooting time.
Parameter settings for the DV
The PMP parameter setting menu (which is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen)
can be activated by pressing “X” button. There are 4 menu options; with the first 3 options

having sub-selections. The function table is as follows:

Press “▲” or “▼” keys to choose the menu option. An arrow to the right of selection indicates
sub-menu, pressing “►” will select sub-menu. Press “▲” or “▼” pick the submenu options,
and press “∆” button to confirm and exit; if you want to continue setting other options, press
“◄” button to return to the previous menu. Press ”ESC” button to exit from the menu.
NOTE: The default video resolution of this PMP is 320*240lines.
Before making video, you can setup internal memory or the Memory Card as the location to
save the photos. You can select storage media from Main Menu Settings Storage. For
example, if “Memory Card” is chosen as the storage media, the program that is photographed
and recorded will be saved on the Memory Card.
NOTE: There is a PC-DEVICE option under Main Menu Settings Storage, this item is not
a storage media option, and it is used to update the program Please refer to the “program
upgrading explanation”.
Making Digital Video (DV):
Before or during making video press ”►” button, to zoom-in, you can zoom from the default
value of 1.00 to 4.00 by continuously pressing ”►” button. Press “◄” button to zoom-out.
Pressing “▲” button will increase the exposure level to maximum of +0.3 degrees and
pressing “▼” button will decrease exposure level to -0.3 degrees. After setting relevant
parameters, press “Play” button to start shooting the video. The time counter in the lower left
corner of the screen indicates the PMP is in process of shooting the video. To stop shooting
video, press the “PLAY” button again.
NOTE: Avoid shaking the PMP while making video for better video quality.
While making video, the built-in microphone records voice.
Playing Video from Digital Video (DV) Recording
To replay the recorded video files, press “ESC” button to return to the system main menu,
pick “Video” (Movie Playing) icon, press “∆” to select, press “Navigation Keys” to select the
recorded program, press “PLAY” button again to replay it.
NOTE: The detailed operation about video playing will be introduced in details hereafter.

Important: Try to select correct memory media. During the DV shoot and recording, if the
memory card is selected as the storage media, the recorded file will not be found in PMP’s
default memory. The storage and replaying about photos are the same hereunder.
IV) Camera Mode
Select “Camera” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button
Operation to capture photos is similar to that of the DV.
Camera status and photo size is displayed in the lower left corner of LCD Display, and
approximate number of additional photos that ca be saved on the available free memory.
Other information is same as that under the DV interface.
Camera settings
Activate PMP's camera settings menu, which is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen,
by pressing “X”. There are 5 menu options, with the first 4 options having sub-selections. The
function table is as follows:

NOTE:You can use zoom-in and zoom-out functions and setup exposure degree as explained
under DV Mode.
Important: Camera has two shoot modes, auto mode and manual mode, which can be
selected from parameter settings menu. A “clock” icon in the lower left corner indicates auto
mode. The default timer is setup to shoot photo in 9 seconds. When you press “PLAY” button,
to take a photo in auto mode, the camera will shoot photo in 9 seconds.
Shooting Photos
After setting the relevant parameters for the camera, just point and shoot photos by pressing
“PLAY” button.
Important: The photo will automatically register the time photo was shot. The time is
displayed in the lower left corner of the photo. Therefore, it’s important to adjust the system
time before using the PMP for the first time.
Browsing Photos
Under the circumstance that the memory has enough capacity, you can take thousands of
digital photos, which are saved simultaneously in your set storage media after each
photography action is finished. Users may return to the system main menu, select the
“photo” submenu and then press “PLAY” button for checking and browsing.
V) Movie mode
Select “Movie” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button.
The system will display all video files on Internal Memory or Memory Card, whichever is
selected as the default Storage Media. You can select the file you want to play using
navigation buttons. You can select Movie Functions Menu by pressing “∆” button. The
function list is below:

Information
Use “▲” or “▼” buttons for item selection. A small arrow on the right will appear indicating
submenu options; press ” ∆” button to confirm and exit. To continue setting up other
parameters, press “◄” button to return to the previous menu and setup other parameters as
needed.
For example, press “▲” or “▼” button to select the items to be deleted, press “►” button to
enter into submenu options, among which “Current” means to delete the currently selected file,
“All “ means to delete all the video files. Press “∆” button to confirm deletion.
NOTE: From Movie Menu, the first frame of the video files will appear. But if the first frame of
the video file is black screen, it will only display the black screen while browsing.
Playing a Video File
Under Movie Main Menu, press navigation keys to select the video file you want to play. Press
“PLAY” to start playing the video file. See the figure below:

Operations of buttons under Movie Playing Mode:
Pressing “PLAY” button again will pause the file being played. Pressing it one more time will
resume playing video file. Pressing “◄” button repeatedly will play backwards at a rate of X2,
X4 or X8. Pressing “ ►” button will play forwards at a rate of X2, X4, and X8. Pressing “MENU”
button can switch among various playing mode; Press “X” button to switch among various
functions of LOOP, Volume, EQ and Repeat, which is displayed in the lower left corner of the
screen. When the lower left corner of the screen displays:
“LOOP” - Pressing “▲” or “▼” button will select the previous file or the next file for playing
“Volume” - Pressing “▲” or “▼” button will adjust the volume
“EQ” - Pressing “▲” or “▼” button will change the file’s audio effects
“Repeat” - Pressing “▲” or “▼” button will change file’s playing mode.
Pressing “ESC” button will stop playing the video file and return to the video browsing menu.
Important: While playing video files, if the audio sound is bad, please check whether the
audio frequency settings are the same as that of the original file that was converted. The
options include 8KHz

Exit from Movie Browsing Mode
From video browsing mode press “ESC” button to return to the System Main Menu.
VI) Music Mode
Select “Music” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button.

Most of the operating mode functions are the same as that under the Movie Mode settings.
Setting up LCD-OFF parameters:
This parameter is to setup Blank Screen as screen saver to minimize power consumption
during music playing. The time parameter setting is to adjust the waiting time from the last
button operation to PMP’s automatically switching to a black screen under audio play mode.
Selecting “NEVER” won’t have automatic black screen.
Important: Screen saver function is only available under music playing mode. If all songs
have lyric synchronization display, the system won’t switch to screen saver.
NOTE: users may also use PMP’s default settings to directly select the music files and then
press ”PLAY” button to start to play.
Playing Music Files
From Music Browsing Menu, select the music files to be played by pressing “▲” or “▼” keys,
then press “PLAY” button to start playing. While it is playing, the screen will display the ID3
information of the music files being played, see example in the figure below:
Operations of Buttons Under Music Playing Mode:
While playing music, pressing “PLAY” again button will pause playing, pressing it again will
resume play.

Pressing “∆” button will set the repeat play function between user selected points A & B.
Press “X” button will display A-B, Volume, EQ and Repeat functions in the lower left corner of
the screen.
When the lower left corner displays:
“A-B” - Press “▲” or “▼” button to select previous or next file for playing
“Volume” - Press “▲” and “▼” button to adjust the volume
“EQ” - Press “▲” and “▼” button to select Music files effect
“Repeat” - Press “▲” and “▼” button setup music file playing mode.
Pressing “ESC” button will stop playing and return to song list.
NOTE:
• Under music playing mode, as the audio playing doesn’t need displaying video,
therefore you can use blank screen saver to minimize power consumption. The time for
automatic screen saver can be setup.
• This PMP supports Lyrics synchronization display. And it also supports LRC V0.2
format. Only if the lyrics file is in the same directory and the lyric file name is exactly the
same as the song file name, the corresponding lyric will be displayed on screen.
Important:
• Lyric must not exceed 500 characters.
• Under the MP3 catalog, different songs cannot have the first few characters to be
exactly the same that can cause lyrics synchronization display, not to function properly.
For example: if the song files have the first few characters exactly the same like
MyFavorite-Classical 1, MyFavorite-Pop 2, MyFavorite-HipHop 1, MyFavorite-Country,
etc. and are downloaded together on this PMP, its lyric synchronization display can play
the wrong lyrics file (i.e. while song A is playing the lyric from song B will be displayed).
The solution is to rename the song file’s names before downloading.
Exit from Music Playing Mode
Press ”ESC” button will return to the system main menu.
VII) Photo mode
Select “Photo” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button.
The main interface of the photo-browsing mode is shown below:

The system will display all photo (JPEG) files on Internal Memory or Memory Card,
whichever is selected as the default Storage Media. You can select the file you want to
display using navigation buttons. You can select Photo Browsing Functions Menu by
pressing “∆” button. The function list is below:

The operation of the submenu is the same as that under the video mode.
Important: This PMP only supports JPEG image format. If the photos you are browsing are of
BMP format or other formats, you can use the software on the included CD to
convert to JPEG format. Refer to the introduction of “converting image format.”
Open Image Files
From Photo Browsing Main Menu, use the navigation keys to select the image file and
press “PLAY” to open the selected image, as shown below:

Operations of Buttons under Photo Browsing Mode:
Press “▲” or “▼” button to choose a photo. Press “PLAY” will play slide-show. Press “ESC”
button to return to the Image Browsing Mode.
NOTE: After opening the image file press “□” button to set this image as the default power-on
image, the system will prompt you to “Set this picture as start picture”.
Exit from Image Browsing Mode
From image browsing mode, press “ESC” to return to main menu.
VIII) Record Mode
Select “Record” from the Main Menu and press “∆” button.
The Main interface of the Record Mode is shown below:

The record mode has 3 recording options:
AV IN - Video recording
MIC IN - Built-in microphone voice recording
LINE IN - Audio recording from external audio sources like CD-Player
Press navigation keys to highlight recording option and pressing “∆” button to select.
Video recording AV-IN
Yellow recorder icon in the up left corner of the screen indicates the PMP is not recording yet.
Pressing the “∆” button will start recording and the yellow recorder icon becomes red and
flashes and recording time counter will be displayed in upper left corner. Press “□” button to
stop recording. All the recorded programs can be found and played under Video Mode.
Before recording video program, please connect the A/C cables as follows:
The Yellow connector/plug connects to Video Device’s (VCR, DVD, Cable Box, etc.)
Video-Out Jack. The Red and White connectors/plugs connect Audio Left and Audio Right
Jacks.
Connect other end of A/V cable to PMP’s AV IN port (15). If the connections are correct, then
you will see the picture and hear audio on the PMP.
Important: While playing the recorded video files, the video setting must be correct, otherwise
the sound tone may have noise.
Voice Recording Using Built-in Microphone
Under the recording mode, select “MIC REC” to enter into the microphone recording mode,
press “∆” button to start recording, the screen will display “ Start record “ and a counter in
lower right corner will indicate PMP has started recording. To stop recording, press “□”
button again. The recorded file can be found for playing under Audio Mode.
