Therefore, due to different models and options, you may
nd reference in this Handbook to some equipment
not tted to your own vehicle.

Head restraints
Warning
The head restraint safety feature
is not intended to rest the head
upon. It is solely for the reduction
of whiplash neck movement in an
accident involving the vehicle.
The centre of the head restraint
should be at eye level, never at
neck level.
To adjust the height:
1. Push the button in.

2. Pull the head restraint up or push
the head restraint down.
To tilt the front head restraints:
1. Place the head restraint in its
upright position by pushing it
forward fully and releasing it.
2. Push the head restraint forward
carefully to the required position.

Seat belts
The belt should not be twisted. It
should lie at and t rmly across
your hips.
1. Pull the metal tongue across
your body.
2. Clip it into the buckle.
When the metal tongue is locked
safely into place you will hear a
click.

Mirror adjustment
Rear view mirror
Adjust the rear view mirror by
moving right or left, up or down.
To reduce headlamp glare at night
from following vehicles, pull the lever
towards the rear of the vehicle.
For daylight operation, push the
lever towards the front of the vehicle.

Warning
Do not attempt to adjust the
steering wheel while driving.
1. To unlock, move the lever down.
2. To adjust, move the steering
wheel up, down, closer or away.
3. To lock, move the lever up.
Ensure the steering wheel is
locked in position before driving.

Starting off
Check before starting

comfortable driving.

• Check that the warning indicators
illuminate when turning the
ignition on.

• The shift lever must be in
P (Park) or N (Neutral). The
engine will not start in any other
position.
• The brake pedal must be
pressed to start the engine.
1: (Lock/off).
2: (Accessories) When the ignition
control knob is in the accessories
position, the audio system will
operate.
3: (On) When the ignition control
knob is in the on position, the engine
is ready to start and all electrical
systems are active.
Note
Do not leave the ignition control
knob in the on position for a
prolonged period, unless the engine
is running, otherwise the vehicle
battery will discharge.
Starting the engine
Warning
Do not switch the engine off while
the vehicle is moving as there
will not be any power assist for
brakes or steering.

• The keyless access transmitter
must be inside the vehicle.
4: (Start) Petrol engine: Turn the
ignition control knob to the start
position momentarily and then
release.
The engine starts automatically.
Diesel engine: Turn the ignition
control knob to the on position
for preheating until the Klight
extinguishes. Turn the ignition
control knob to the start position.
The ignition control knob
automatically returns to the on
position when released.
Note
• If the engine control knob
does not turn, push the knob
in and turn.
• If the transmitter is not in the
vehicle or there is interference,
Electronic Key Not Detected
is displayed. See Vehicle
messages on page 80.

Record the number, remove the key
plate and keep the number and the
key plate in a safe place (not in the
vehicle).
If the original keyless access
transmitters are lost, any additional
or replacement transmitters must be
purchased from and programmed by
a Holden Dealer, using the key code
number.

Matching transmitter(s)
to the vehicle
Each remote keyless access
transmitter is coded to the vehicle.
If the vehicle’s transmitter is lost,
inform a Holden Dealer immediately
so the vehicle can be reprogrammed
and will no longer recognise the
missing transmitter.
Additional transmitters also require
re-coding to match the new
transmitter.
Warning
The remote control unit contains
precision electronic parts.
To help avoid transmitter trouble:
Do not leave the remote control
unit in direct sunlight.
Do not treat the remote control
unit carelessly.
Do not allow the remote control
unit to get wet.
Starting the vehicle with
a low transmitter battery
If the transmitter battery is weak, the
Driver Information Centre (DIC) may
display Electronic Key Not Detected,
when trying to start the vehicle.
To start the vehicle:
1. Open the storage bin. See Front
cup holders on page 50.
2. Lift the mat on the base of the
centre console bin.

3. Place the transmitter on the base
of the centre console bin in the
position shown, with the buttons
facing up.
4. Place the shift lever in P (Park)
or N (Neutral).
5. Press the brake pedal and rotate
the ignition control knob.
6. Replace the transmitter battery
as soon as possible.

Replacing the battery in
the remote control
A
As soon as the range of the remote
control reduces, replace the battery:
1. Remove the key from the
transmitter. See Manual door
locks on page 20.
2. Separate the transmitter by
placing a at, thin object into the
slot on the side of the transmitter.
3. Remove the battery (A) and
replace with the new one, making
sure the positive (+) side of the
battery is facing down. Replace
with a CR2032 or equivalent
battery.
4. Reassemble the transmitter
ensuring the cover is engaged
correctly.
5. Insert the key back into the
transmitter.
6. Test the operation of the
transmitter.
Note
Avoid touching the at surfaces of
the battery, the circuit board and
other components inside the remote
control with bare ngers. Handling
will shorten battery life.
About the keys
• Ensure that other keys on the
key ring are not between the
transmitter and the vehicle.
• The remote control in the
transmitter has a range of
approximately 30 metres.
• The range depends on
the charge of the transmitter
battery, on ambient conditions,
the transmitter’s location and the
area between the transmitter and
the vehicle.
• If the transmitter buttons do not
work, move closer to the vehicle.
• Take care that no button is
pressed unintentionally, especially
when the vehicle is out of sight.
• Metallic window tint reduces the
range of the transmitter.
• The transmitter buttons may not
work if the vehicle is parked near
strong radio activity, such as
under TV towers (most likely in
high lookout car parks).
