User manuals are available to download at hornady.com/support/user-manuals.
• Remove the old cam wire bracket.
• Lift the Cam Wire out of the drilled hole in the
bottom of the Frame (20).
• Place the Spring (2) over the smaller end of the
AP™Break Away Plunger (3).
• Insert the threaded end of AP™Break Away Plunger
(3) through the Primer Slide Cam Wire hole in the
AP™Frame (20).
• Use a 1/8" Allen Wrench to prevent the AP™Break
Away Plunger (3) from rotating.
• Screw on the #8-32 Nylon Lock Hex Nut (4) until it
bottoms out on the AP™Break Away Plunger (3).
• Insert the AP™Break Away Cam Wire (1) blued end
or shortest end up into the hole of the Cam Wire
Bracket (5) at the top of the Frame (20).
• Rotate the AP™Break Away Cam Wire (1) over to
line up with the AP™Break Away Plunger (3).
• Push the AP™Break Away Plunger (3) down until
you can insert the Radius end of the AP™Break
Away Cam Wire (1) into the tapered end of
AP™Break Away Plunger (3).
Under normal operation, the AP™Break Away Cam
Wire (1) will sit in position due to the spring tension.
If you hear a noise when operating the press, see if
the AP™Break Away Cam Wire (1) pulled out of the
AP™Break Away Plunger (3). If it did, you may have
some spilled powder under the head of the Primer
Punch (26), holding the punch up. Before you continue
operation, clean out the powder residue. After this
is corrected, repeat the last step of the assembly
procedure and continue.
