SAFETY NOTES & GENERAL SERVICING ADVICE
1. This manual is NOT intended as a comprehensive repair/maintenance guide to the appliance.
2. It should ONLY be used by suitably qualified persons having technical competence applicable
product knowledge and suitable tools and test equipment.
3. Servicing of electrical appliances must be undertaken with the appliance disconnected (unplugged)
from the electrical supply.
4. Servicing must be preceded by Earth Continuity, Earth Resistance & Insulation Resistance checks.
5. Personal safety precautions must be taken to protect against accidents caused by sharp edges on
metal and plastic parts.
6. After servicing the appliance must be rechecked for Electrical Safety. In the case of appliances
which are connected to a water supply (i.e.: Washing Machines, Dishwashers & Food Centres etc.)
checks must be made for leaks from seals gaskets and pipe work and rectification carried out where
necessary.
7. It can be dangerous to attempt 'DIY' repairs / maintenance on complex equipment and the Company
recommends that any problem with the appliance is referred to its own Service Organisation.
8. Whilst the Company has endeavoured to ensure the accuracy of the data within this publication they

INTRODUCTION
A new range of Innovative Washing Machines with a large 11.0 kg load for the modern family.
New style Digit Control Display Panel to advise and update the customer on the machines options and
programme progress.
A range of new Wash Cycles including Steam Refresh, Darks, Anti Allergy and Ultra Delicates
programmes.
Programmes can be adjusted to suit the individual customer requirements.
Spin Speed and Temperature can all be fine-tuned.
A large drum porthole allowing easy laundry loading and unloading.
The soap dispenser is hidden and only revealed when the machines door is opened.
The programme start can be delayed.
Note: This model is Cold Fill only.
Stand-by Mode:
The machine in compliance with the new 'Energy Saving Regulations' is fitted with an automatic
stand-by system which is enabled after 30 minutes if no activity is detected. Press the On/Off button
briefly and wait for the machine to start up again.
OPENING THE DOOR MANUALLY - ALL MODELS
To release the door if the machine fails during a cycle and the door will not open
• Disconnect the machine from the electricity supply.
• Lower the drain hose and remove the water from the machine into a suitable container.
• Unclip the machine’s kickstrip using a flat bladed screwdriver to release the plastic clips.
• Pull the tab now revealed outwards (Fig. A) until the plastic brace comes away. Then pull the
brace twice downwards (Fig. B) until a 'click' is heard, this indicates that the door is now unlocked.
• It should now be possible to open the door.
• If the door will still not open, repeat the above steps.

INSTALLATION
Transit Supports Removal
BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THE MACHINE, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE
DESCRIBED BELOW.
The inside of the appliance is supported, for transportation, by four screws on the back panel.
Before using the appliance these MUST be removed.
NOTE: You may need a second person to help you.
WARNING: The appliance must not be plugged into the mains supply until all installation
instructions have been completed.
Choose a Location
The choice of location for the appliance will influence its performance.
Position where possible on a solid floor as vibration may occur with a wooden floor.
Take care with vinyl floor coverings. The weight of the appliance may cause indentations in some vinyl
floor coverings. You should not install your appliance on a carpeted floor, but if this is unavoidable,
ensure that air can circulate around its base.
If locating next to another appliance or an item of furniture, leave space between them to allow air to
circulate.
For your safety and to comply with IEE regulations, you should not install your appliance in a bath or
shower room. Seek professional advice if you wish to do so.
Ensure sufficient space is allowed for the appliance.
Ensure the electrical socket and water taps are easily accessible and that the water supply can be
isolated if necessary.
Risk of freezing:
Do not position the appliance in rooms exposed to frost. Frozen pipes may burst under pressure.
1. Remove the 4 screws, along with the
spacers together with the washers intact,
indicated by arrows.
2. You must now cover the holes with the four
plastic covers provided.
Retain the transit screws, spacers and
washers. Should you move house then these
should be replaced to support the inside of
the appliance to prevent damage when in
transit.
IMPORTANT:
Use the round cap supplied to cover the 5
holes which housed the mains plug, situated
in the right hand part of the lower back of the
appliance.

Levelling
Connect to the Water Supply
The water tap and standpipe should be situated away from the rear of appliance but in easy access for
turning on and off.
Connect to a Drainage System
Connect up the drain hose, after fitting the hooked end support supplied in the machine.
Ensure the drainage hose is not obstructed, trapped or kinked.
The drainage pipe should not be extended on these models.
Do not position standpipe near an electrical outlet. We recommend one of the following drainage
methods:- (on following page)
1. Install the washer dryer on a flat sturdy floor, without
resting it up against walls, cabinets etc.
2. If the floor is not perfectly level, compensate for any
unevenness by tightening or loosening the adjustable
front feet (see figure); the angle of inclination, measured
according to the worktop, must not exceed 2°.
For the machine to operate correctly it requires water
pressures in the range of 0.5bar (0.05MPa) to 10bar
(1.0 MPa). Most water supplies will be in this range.
Connect the hose to the water supply pipe at the rear
of the appliance and onto the cold water supply tap.
Remember to insert a sealing washer (A) to ensure
each connection is watertight.
Fit securely and turn on the water supply to check for
leaks. If there is a leak, turn off the water supply,
remove the connector and check that the sealing
washer is in place.
Refit the connector and tighten it. Turn on the water
supply.
Note: Do not over tighten the water supply pipe
connection. Hand tight should be sufficient.
We recommend you use the new hose provided with
your appliance to ensure correct connection and
prevent leaks.

Standpipe
Note:
Ensure the standpipe has a minimum diameter of
38 mm.
The standpipe should be installed away from the
rear of the appliance.
1. Ensure hooked end of drain hose is positioned
between 100 and 65 cm above the bottom of the
machine.
2. Untie the end of the GREY drainage hose from
the rear of the appliance and place
approximately 100 mm into the standpipe or
sink trap spigot.
Ensure the drain hose is securely attached, to
prevent it coming away while the machine is in use
and causing a flood.
Sink Waste System Note:
Ensure the sink outlet pipe has a minimum diameter
of 32 mm.
1. Untie the end of the GREY drainage hose from
the rear of the appliance.
2. Reposition 'hooked end' support as required
along the GREY drainage hose.
3. If fitting an under sink waste disposal unit cut
out the membrane, bung or blanking plug.
4. Attach the GREY drainage hose to the under
sink waste disposal unit securely, using a
suitable hose clip.
5. Raise the hose to a minimum height of between
90 and 65 cm to avoid syphoning.
Ensure the drain hose is securely attached, to
prevent it coming away while the machine is in
use and causing a flood.

CONTROLS
On-Off/Cancel with Indicator Lamp
Pressing the button briefly switches the machine 'On' or 'Off'.
The machine can be switched 'Off' during a Wash Cycle by holding the button in for
approximately 3 seconds. If the button is pressed briefly or accidentally the machine will not
switch off. If the machine is switched Off during a wash cycle it will cancel the selected
programme.
Start/Pause with Indicator Lamp
When the Green indicator light flashes slowly, press the button to start the cycle.
Once the cycle has begun, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain lit.
To pause the wash cycle in progress, press the button. The indicator will now flash
orange.
If the Door Locked indicator symbol switches off the door can be opened.
To re-commence the programme at the point it was interrupted press the button
once.
Programme Knob (Wash Cycle Selector)
This can be rotated in both directions to select the required programme. The knob will NOT move during
the wash cycle.
Temperature Button
The machine will automatically display the maximum temperature for the selected cycle.
The temperature can be decreased by pressing the temperature button, until the Cold wash
setting is reached (no). Pressing it again will restore the maximum temperature.
Note: Exception - if the "Cotton" programme is selected, the temperature can be increased
to 90°C.
Spin Speed Button
The machine will automatically display the maximum spin speed for the selected cycle.
The speed can be decreased by pressing the Spin Speed button until the (no) setting is
reached. Pressing again will restore the maximum speed.
Delay Timer Button
Press the button until the desired delay time is displayed. During the selection process the
time is indicated in the display. To remove the Delay Timer option, press the button until the
display shows the text "OFF". At this time the Display Time symbol disappears.
Note: Once the Start/Pause button has been pressed the delay time can only be
decreased.

NEW & SPECIAL PROGRAMMES
• Steam Refresh: Refreshes garments by removing bad odours and relaxing the fibres.
To be used with dry - not dirty items.
• Darks: Programme for dark colours and maintain colours over time - recommend
liquid detergent.
• Anti Allergy: Programme for removing major allergens such as pollen, mites, cat and dog
hairs.
• Ultra Delicates: Recommend programme for very delicate items.
PROGRAMME PROGRESS
These symbols will illuminate as the programme progresses.
Only 1 symbol will be illuminated at a time.
LOADING THE DETERGENT
The detergent dispenser is located inside the machine and can be accessed
by opening the door.
Do not pour detergent into the compartment 1.
Detergent should only be poured into the compartment 2.
Main Wash Compartment 2: If liquid detergent is used, it is recommended that
the removable plastic partition A(supplied) be used for proper dosage.
If powder detergent is used, place the partition into slot B.

OPTION BUTTONS & INDICATORS
Eco Option
Selecting this option saves energy by not heating the water used to wash the laundry,
an advantage to the environment and to the customers energy bill.
Instead, intensified wash action and water optimisation ensure good wash results are
achieved in the same average time of a standard cycle.
It is recommended that liquid detergent is used when using this option.
Not available with
Easy Iron
Selecting this option will modify the wash and spin cycles to reduce the formation of
creases.
At the end of the cycle the appliance drum will slowly rotate, the Easy Iron and
Start / Pause option LEDs will flash. To complete the cycle press the Start / Pause or
Easy Iron button.
When using this option with programme *** (Silk) the programme will end with the load
being held in water (Rinse Hold) with the Easy Iron LEDs flashing.
To drain the water so that the laundry load can be removed - Press either the Start /
Pause or the Easy iron button.
Not available with
Steam Hygiene
Selecting this option enhances washing performance by generating steam during the
wash cycle that eliminates bacteria from the fibres.
Note: Steam generated during this option process may cause the porthole door to
become hazy.
Not available with
Time Saver
Selecting this option reduces the wash cycle duration by 30% - 50% depending on the
cycle selected.
Recommended for lightly soiled garments.
Not available with
Eco Lamp
The Eco lamp will illuminate when energy savings have reached 10%.
When a programme is selected, if the customer selects a series of options, which
achieve a 10%, Energy Saving the icon will illuminate. There is not a set combination
of options, just if the combined options selected reach a 10% or more energy saving.
Note: Before the machine enters 'Stand-by Mode', the icon will light up for a few
seconds then the machine will switch off. At this point the estimated energy saving will
be approximately 80%.

WASH PROGRAMMES
Important Information: Always observe the laundry items wash care label.
NOTE: -
The display will give an approximate time to end at the start of the cycle. The machines sensors
update the module during the programme and the display will update the time to end of the cycle
accordingly.
EMERGENCY DOOR OPENING
If the machine fails with the door lock solenoid in the locked position, it may not be possible to open
the door. See page 15 for details.
(*) Note: 10 minutes after the START, the machine will recalculate the time remaining until the end of the wash cycle on the basis of the load inside it; this value will then be shown on the display.
Table of wash cycles
For all Test Institutes:
1) Test wash cycle in compliance with regulation 2010/1061: set wash cycle with a temperature of 60°C.
2) Test wash cycle in compliance with regulation 2010/1061: set wash cycle with a temperature of 40°C.
3) Long wash cycle for cottons: set wash cycle with a temperature of 40°C.
4) Short wash cycle for cottons: set wash cycle with a temperature of 40°C.

The length of cycle shown on the display or in this booklet is an estimation only and is calculated assuming standard working conditions. The actual duration can vary according to factors such as

AQUALTIS INNOVATIONS
Machine Door
The door of the machine is a single assembly consisting of the door lock, hinges, display board, the
cable to the power module and the door.
NOTE: - The door assembly replaces the control panel on conventional machines and includes all the
machines controls and the dispenser which can only be filled with the door assembly open.
Door Opening
The machine has a door lock, which includes an electrical solenoid. This means that the door can be
opened as soon as the cycle has finished and the drum is stationary.
The new door lock assembly with the emergency opening cord.
NOTE: - If the machine is stopped mid cycle it may not be possible to open the door without setting a
drain cycle to enable to door to be opened. Also if there is a power cut in the middle of a cycle it may
not be possible to open the door until the power is restored.
It is possible, however, to open the door in an emergency. Check the water level is below the door.
Remove the plinth and pull the emergency cord twice, two clicks will be heard. The door should now
open.
Pressure System
A linear pressure switch is used but the pressure chamber is part of the tank assembly and cannot be
removed.

OKO Ball Detergent Recovery System
Linear Pressure Switch
The linear pressure switch uses a composite sleeve attached to an internal diaphragm that moves
through a coil as the machine fills or empties, when a current is applied to the coil a given frequency is
generated depending on the position of the sleeve, this frequency is readable by the main module.
On the basis of the information provided by the pressure switch, the module is able to calculate not
only the empty / full condition but exactly how much water is in the tub.
Switch operating parameters: 10.7 Hz approximately (empty) and 9.5 Hz approximately (full).
NOTES:
1. It is recommended that the appliance is not tilted > 45° to gain access to the underneath of the
appliance if water is present in the drum as this may also effect the water level readings.
2. If after any repair to the appliance the machine has been tilted >45° i.e. Tank change - pump/
sump hose inspection -Pressure switch hose disconnection, or the Pressure switch has been
replaced the pressure switch must be re-set to zero level.
3. To achieve a zero level reading on the pressure switch manually drain all water from the appliance
via the drain hose by lowering it into a suitable receptacle, disconnect and re-connect the
pressure switch hose, this will allow the switch to zero calibrate.
Internally the switch comprises of a coil and small
printed circuit board, a composite sleeve attached to
the diaphragm and two springs.
Unlike a conventional bellows type pressure switch
that has fixed level open and closed contacts the
linear type operates by way of a variable frequency.

To test the appliance:
Switch machine on.
Open door and fill the drum with approximately 1 litre of water.
Close door.
Set appliance to drain then start appliance, pump will then drain the water out (pressure switch and
module now re-calibrated to zero.
NOTE: If the drum does not have water in it the machine drain pump will not run, even if a pump out
programme is selected.

The outer drum / tank assembly is
inclined backwards 8° to make the
machine more ergonomic, and to
assist loading clothes into the
machine.
The top and bottom concrete
counterweights fitted to this
appliance have a new way of
retaining them in place.
A small spring is screwed directly into
the drum fixings (Fig. 1) where a
counterweight bolt would have
previously been. The spring can only
be inserted and removed by using by
using a special tool C00284698
(Fig. 2).

CONTROLS INFORMATION
A single control board located at the back of the machine contains all the circuitry to control the
machine and interfaces with the programme selector, option buttons and LEDs located on the console
panel. The control board has an access port to the rear of the machine.
Programmes are selected by turning the rotary switch to one of the 16 positions. Special options can
be selected by pressing the appropriate buttons and the programme process followed by LEDs.
The machine is switched on using the On/Off button and selected programmes started by pressing the
Start/Cancel button.
MAIN BOARD PROGRAMMING - For Modules with fixed EEProm
PROGRAMMING (Using EMIT)
This machine can be programmed via the Emit, using a USB lead (Part number C00222800),
Hardware key (Part number C00115587) and the Memwriter software.
From Serial Number 80401.0000, the
module will always be supplied without
a programme when supplied as a spare
part.
NOTE: This board does not have a
physically replaceable EEProm.
Programming a Main Board
There are a number of ways the board
can be programmed - some of which
are not applicable to certain markets.
Types of programming:
1. Handheld Terminal (Not UK).
2. Emit / Memwriter (UK Indesit
Service Engineers).
3. Smart Reader & Smart Card

PROGRAMMING (Using Smartcard Reader / Card)
If the Main Module has been replaced during a repair the board will require programming using the
following method.
DEMO MODE
Activate Demo mode by pressing:
'On-Off' + 'Start/Pause' + the last option button on the right simultaneously for approximately 10 - 15
seconds.
NOTE: - The machine must be plugged in and switched on at the wall socket, but switched off.
The display will be dark.
De-activate Demo mode by pressing:
'On-Off' + 'Start/Pause' buttons simultaneously for approximately 4 seconds. At this point an audible
'beep' will be heard.
NOTE: - The machine must be plugged in and switched on at the wall socket, but switched off.
The display will be dark.
After cancelling 'Demo Mode' it will be necessary to re-select the correct language you require...see
next page.
1. Do NOT connect the machine to electrical supply.
2. Insert the pre-programmed card into the Card
reader. Care must be taken at this point to ensure
the card is inserted correctly with the Chip on the
card facing the PCB of the Reader.
3. Insert the Reader and Card into module connection
port - see photo.
4. Connect the machine to the Electrical supply, the
LEDs on the Smart Card Reader will light in this
sequence:
a) Red ON: Good Communication between Smart Card
Reader and Card.
b) Red OFF; Green Blinking: Download taking place.
c) At end, Green ON ---> Download OK.
d) At end, Red ON or RED Flashing ---> Download
NOT OK.
5. Programming Complete, disconnect the machine
from Electrical supply.
6. Remove the Smart Card Reader.
