In

this may also damage your laundry and the machine.

lug out.
●Do not o en the machine door while the
a liance is in o eration.
●Do not o en the detergent dis enser while the
a liance is in o eration.
●Never force the machine door: this could damage
the safety lock mechanism designed to revent
any accidental o ening.
●Turn off the water ta after every wash. This will
limit the wear of your a liances water system
and also revent leaks.
●In the event of a malfunction, do not under any
circumstances touch internal arts in order to

during the wash cycles, high water ressure could

!Never use hoses that have already been used.
●In the unlikely event of something not working -
see the Troubleshooting section.
Saving energy and respecting the
environment
Environmentally-friendly technology
If you only see a little water through your a liance
door, this is because thanks to the latest Hot oint
technology, your machine only needs less than half the
amount of water to get the best results: an
objective reached to res ect the environment.
Saving on detergent, water, energy and time
●To avoid wasting resources, the machine should
be used with a full load. A full load instead of two
half loads allows you to save u to 50% on energy.
●The re-wash cycle is only necessary on extremely
soiled garments. Avoiding it will save on detergent,
time, water and between 5 and 15% energy.
●Treating stains with a stain remover or leaving
them to soak before washing will cut down the
need to wash them at high tem eratures.
A ro gramme at 60˚C instead of 90˚C or one at
40˚C instead of 60˚C will save u to 50% on
energy.
●Use the correct quantity of detergent, de ending
on the water hardness, how soiled the garments
are and the amount of laundry you have, to avoid
wastage and to rotect the environment: des ite
being biodegradable, detergents do contain
ingredients that alter the natural balance of the
environment. In addition, avoid using fabric
softener as much as ossible.
●If you use your machine between late in the
afternoon and the early hours of the morning, you
will hel reduce the electricity board’s eak load.
Recycling and Disposal information
As art of Hot oint’s continued commitment to
hel ing the environment, Hot oint reserve the right
to use quality recycled com onents to kee down
customer costs and minimise material wastage.
●Please dis ose of ackaging and old a liances
carefully.
●To minimise risk of injury to children, remove the
door and lug - then cut off mains cable, flush with
the a liance. Dis ose of these arts se arately
to ensure that the a liance can no longer be
lugged into a mains socket, and the door cannot
be locked shut.
Disposal of old electrical appliances
The Euro ean Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equi ment (WEEE), requires that old
household electrical a liances must not be dis osed
of in the normal unsorted munici al waste stream. Old
a liances must be collected se arately in order to
o timise the recovery and recycling of the materials
they contain and reduce the im act on human health
and the environment.
The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the
roduct reminds you of your obligation, that
when you dis ose of the a liance it must
be se arately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or
retailer for information concerning the correct
dis osal of their old a liance.
