1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its
lifecycle could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as
unsorted municipal waste; it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling.
This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect
the local environmental rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.

contact your dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.
This device is not suitable for ordinary lighting in household room illumination.
Class 2.
•This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of
the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
•Do not connect the rope light to the supply while it is in the packing or wound onto
a reel.
•Do not use the rope light when covered or recessed into a surface.
•Always disconnect mains power when the device is not in use or when servicing or
maintenance activities are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
•If the external flexible cable or cord of this device is damaged, it shall be exclusively
replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.
•All cords and cables should be routed so that they will not be walked on or pinched
by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to the point where
they exit the unit.
•Remove all flammable materials close to the device before switching on.
•Do not install the device on a flammable surface (linoleum, carpet, wood, paper,
cardboard, plastic, etc.).

•Protect this device from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or
other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
•Do not remove the cover under any conditions. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside. Never operate this device when its cover is removed.
•Do not operate a visibly damaged device. Do not attempt to operate this device if
the power cord has been frayed or broken.
•Always mount this device in a safe and stable manner. Mount this device in an area
that will allow proper ventilation.
•This device should only be serviced by qualified service personnel.
•Always make sure to connect the device to an alternating current matching the
value stated on the device.
•Always install the device in a well-ventilated location.
•This device is not designed for permanent operation: regular operation breaks will
prolong its live.
•To maintain the IP value, all accessories must be carefully glued in position. This
should be done by a qualified technician.
•The rope lights must be uncoiled to avoid heat build-up. Heat build-up could result
in unsafe situations: fire, meltdown, uninsulated internal wiring, etc.
•The LEDs and lamps cannot be replaced.
•Check the rope light for mechanical damage, wear or tear. Do not use a rope light
with visible damage.
•If a section of the rope light does not light up or flickers, unplug the rope light
immediately. Cut out the faulty section(s) of rope light and re-connect using
connectors.
3. General Guidelines
•Refer to the Velleman®Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this
manual.
•All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by
user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
•Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised
way will void the warranty.
•Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by
the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or
problems.
•Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage
(extraordinary, incidental or indirect) –of any nature (financial, physical…) arising
from the possession, use or failure of this product.

5. Initial Test
Always refer to the safety instructions above.
Before installing or using the rope light, test the rope light and keep it plugged in to
warm up the plastic. This makes it more pliable when installing.
6. Assembling Rope Lights
This device shall be installed by qualified personnel only.
Switch off the mains power before you continue.
6.1 Connecting the Power Connector
1. Slide the heatshrink over the rope light.
2. Firmly push the sharp prongs of the power
connector into the rope light. Make sure the prongs
are pushed in all the way and make contact with
the tube light leads.

3. Push the power connector firmly into the connector
sleeve.
4. Use a heat gun to shrink the heatshrink over the
connector.
6.2 Cutting Rope Lights
1. Make sure the mains power is switched off.
2. The rope light can be cut at specific intervals. These are indicated with following
symbol: .
Cut the wires only at the marks .
3. Use a sharp cutter and make a clean straight cut.
6.3 Assembling the Connectors
See section Technical Specifications below for product codes.
The maximum length of the rope light assembly is 45 m. Exceeding the maximum
length may cause overheating and fire.
1. Make sure the mains power is switched off.
2. Use connectors (in-line, L, T, or X-shaped) to connect the rope light sections.
3. Always check that the pins are correctly inserted into the fitting.
4. Apply some glue and push the 2 parts together making sure that it fits well. Apply
glue only on the plastic parts –not on the conductive parts.
5. Let the glue dry for about 15 minutes before using the unit.
6.4 Attaching End Caps
See section Technical Specifications below for product codes.
Attach the end caps as follows:
1. Apply the special glue to the rope light.
Apply glue only on the plastic parts –not on the conductive parts.
2. Gently push the end cap on the rope light end.
3. Important: Let the glue dry for about 15 minutes before using the unit.

6.5 Shaping the Rope Light
1. Switch off the mains power before you continue.
2. The maximum length of the rope light assembly is 45 m.
Exceeding the maximum length may cause overheating and fire.
3. The bending radius of the rope light is at least 30 cm, do not make sharp bends.
Use connectors to make sharp angles.
Bending radius r = min. 30 cm
4. Bend the rope light according to the pictures on page 2.
7. Installing
1. When you have shaped the rope light, test it again as described above.
2. If the shaped rope light works correctly, you can proceed with mounting. Keep the
light plugged in to warm up the plastic. This makes it more pliable when installing.
3. Switch off the mains power before you actually install the rope light.

1. Inleiding
Aan alle ingezetenen van de Europese Unie
Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus
wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel
(en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een
gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw
verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke
milieuwetgeving.
Hebt u vragen, contacteer dan de plaatselijke autoriteiten betreffende de
verwijdering.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Lees en begrijp deze handleiding en de veiligheidsinstructies vóór ingebruikname.
Dit toestel is niet geschikt voor de verlichting van een huishoudelijke ruimte.
Klasse 2.
•Dit toestel is geschikt voor gebruik door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar, door personen met
fysieke, zintuiglijke of verstandelijke beperkingen, of door personen met gebrek aan
ervaring en kennis, op voorwaarde dat dit onder toezicht gebeurt van een persoon
die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid of hun aanwijzingen heeft gegeven, hoe
zij het toestel moeten gebruiken en zich bewust zijn van de risico's die het gebruik
van het toestel met zich meebrengt. Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel spelen.
De reiniging en het onderhoud van het toestel mogen niet worden uitgevoerd door
kinderen, tenzij ze onder toezicht staan.
•Gebruik de lichtslang nooit in de verpakking of in opgerolde toestand.
•Gebruik de lichtslang niet wanneer deze afgedekt of ingebouwd is.
•Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het toestel niet in gebruik is of voordat
u het toestel reinigt. Houd de voedingskabel altijd vast bij de stekker en niet bij de
kabel.
•Indien de externe, flexibele kabel beschadigd is, dan moet deze door de fabrikant,
diens servicedienst, of een gelijkwaardig bekwaam persoon vervangen worden, om
gevaar te vermijden.
•Plaats de kabels zodanig dat niemand erop kan trappen of erover kan vallen of
struikelen, vooral bij de stekker en het punt waar de kabel het toestel verlaat.
•Verwijder alle brandbare materialen in de nabijheid van het toestel voordat u het
inschakelt.
•Plaats het toestel niet op een brandbaar oppervlak (bv. linoleum, tapijt, hout,
papier, karton, plastic, enz.).

•Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van warmtebronnen zoals radiatoren,
verwarmingselementen, fornuizen of andere toestellen (incl. versterkers) die
warmte produceren.
•Demonteer of open dit toestel nooit. De gebruiker mag geen onderdelen vervangen.
Gebruik dit toestel nooit wanneer de behuizing geopend is.
•Gebruik nooit een beschadigd toestel. Gebruik dit toestel niet indien de
voedingskabel beschadigd is.
•Monteer dit toestel steeds op een veilige en stabiele manier. Monteer dit toestel in
een ruimte waar voldoende ventilatie aanwezig is.
•Het onderhoud mag uitsluitend door een vakman uitgevoerd worden.
•Sluit het toestel aan op een geschikt stopcontact (zie label op het toestel).
•Plaats het toestel in een goed geventileerde ruimte.
•Dit toestel is niet geschikt voor permanent gebruik: een regelmatige onderbreking
verlengt de levensduur.
•Op de IP-waarde te behouden moeten alle accessoires zorgvuldig op hun plaats
worden gekleefd. Laat dit door een vakman doen.
•Lichtslangen dienen volledig afgerold te worden om oververhitting te voorkomen.
Oververhitting kan leiden tot: brand, het smelten van onderdelen, niet-geïsoleerde
interne bedrading, enz.
•De leds en lampen kunnen niet worden vervangen.
•Controleer de lichtslang op mechanische beschadigingen of slijtage. Gebruik de
lichtslang niet wanneer deze beschadigd is.
•Indien een stuk van de lichtslang niet oplicht of flikkert, trek de stekker onmiddellijk
uit en gebruik de lichtslang niet. Knip de defecte secties van de lichtslang af en sluit
opnieuw aan met connectoren.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
•Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.
•Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen. Schade door
wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt niet onder de
garantie.
•Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt automatisch
bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
•De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in
deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of
problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
•Noch Velleman nv noch zijn verdelers kunnen aansprakelijk gesteld worden voor
schade (buitengewoon, incidenteel of onrechtstreeks) –van welke aard dan ook
(financieel, fysisch…) voortvloeiend uit het bezit, gebruik of falen van dit product.
•Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.

5. Voorafgaande test
Neem steeds de veiligheidsinstructies hierboven in acht.
Test de lichtslang en laat ingeschakeld om het plastic op te warmen. Zo wordt de
lichtslang flexibeler bij het monteren.
6. De lichtslang monteren
Laat dit toestel installeren door een geschoolde technicus.
Schakel de netstroom uit alvorens verder te gaan.
6.1 De voedingskabel aansluiten
1. Schuif de krimpkous over de lichtslang.
2. Druk de scherpe pinnen van de voedingsaansluiting
stevig in de lichtslang. Zorg ervoor dat de pinnen
helemaal in de lichtslang vastzitten en verbonden
zijn met de voedingskabel van de lichtslang.

3. Druk de voedingsaansluiting stevig in de
aansluitingskoker.
4. Gebruik een heteluchtpistool om de krimpkous
over de connector te krimpen.
6.2 De lichtslang knippen
1. Zorg ervoor dat de netstroom uitgeschakeld is.
2. De lichtslang kan afgesneden worden op bepaalde lengtes. Deze snijmerktekens
zijn aangeduid met het volgende symbool: .
Snijd de slang enkel af op de snijmerktekens .
3. Gebruik een scherp breekmes en maak een mooie rechte inkeping.
6.3 Assembleren met connectoren
Zie Technische specificaties hieronder voor de productcodes.
De maximumlengte van de lichtslang is 45 m. Het overschrijden van de maximumlengte
kan leiden tot verhitting en brand veroorzaken.
1. Zorg ervoor dat de netstroom uitgeschakeld is.
2. Gebruik connectoren (inline, L, T of X) om de stukken lichtslang met elkaar te
verbinden.
3. Controleer steeds of de pinnen correct zijn aangesloten op de fitting.
4. Breng een beetje lijm aan, druk de 2 delen goed samen en zorg ervoor dat het
geheel goed op elkaar past. Breng enkel lijm aan op de plastic onderdelen –niet
op de geleidende onderdelen.
5. Laat het geheel gedurende een 15-tal minuten drogen alvorens te gebruiken.
6.4 De eindkappen bevestigen
Zie Technische specificaties hieronder voor de productcodes.
Bevestig de eindkappen als volgt:
1. Breng de speciale lijm aan op de lichtslang.
Breng enkel lijm aan op de plastic onderdelen –niet op de geleidende onderdelen.
2. Plaats de eindkap voorzichtig op het uiteinde van de lichtslang.

3. Belangrijk: Laat het geheel gedurende een 15-tal minuten drogen alvorens te
gebruiken
6.5 De lichtslang buigen
1. Schakel de netstroom uit alvorens verder te gaan.
2. De maximumlengte van de lichtslang is 45 m.
Het overschrijden van de maximumlengte kan leiden tot verhitting en brand
veroorzaken.
3. De buigstraal van de lichtslang is minstens 30 cm, maak geen scherpe hoeken.
Gebruik connectoren om scherpe hoeken te maken.
Buigstraal r = min. 30 cm
4. Buig de lichtslang, zoals aangegeven in de afbeeldingen op pagina 2.
7. Installatie
1. Wanneer u de lichtslang vorm gegeven heeft, test u deze opnieuw zoals
beschreven hierboven.
2. Bij een normale werking van de lichtslang, kunt u verder gaan met het monteren.
Laat het licht ingeschakeld om het plastic op te warmen. Zo wordt de lichtslang
flexibeler bij het monteren.
3. Schakel de netstroom uit voor u de lichtslang installeert.
8. Gebruik
Controleer de lichtslang voor elk gebruik. Neem steeds de veiligheidsinstructies
hierboven in acht.

2. Consignes de sécurité
Lire et comprendre ce mode d'emploi et toutes les consignes de sécurité avant d'utiliser
l'appareil.
Cet appareil ne convient pas à l'éclairage d'une pièce d'un ménage.
Classe 2.
•Cet appareil peut être utilisé par des enfants âgés de 8 ans et plus et des personnes
manquant d’expérience et de connaissances ou dont les capacités physiques,
sensorielles ou mentales sont réduites, si elles ont été formées et encadrées quant
à l'utilisation de l'appareil d'une manière sûre et connaissent les risques encourus.
Ne pas laisser les enfants jouer avec l'appareil. Le nettoyage et l'entretien ne
doivent pas être effectués par des enfants sans surveillance.
•Ne pas relier le flexible lumineux à l’alimentation lorsqu’il est dans son emballage ou
enroulé.
•Ne pas utiliser le flexible lumineux s’il est couvert ou encastré dans une surface.
•Toujours déconnecter l'appareil lorsque l'appareil n'est pas utilisé ou avant de le
nettoyer. Tirer sur la fiche pour débrancher l'appareil ; non pas sur le câble.
•Si le câble flexible externe est endommagé, il doit être remplacé par le fabricant,
son service technique ou toute autre personne qualifiée, pour éviter tout danger.
•Disposer les câbles de telle manière que personne ne puisse marcher ou trébucher
dessus, particulièrement au niveau des fiches, des prises de courant et de la sortie
de l'appareil.
•Enlever tout matériau inflammable à proximité de l'appareil avant la mise en
service.
•Ne pas installer l'appareil sur une surface inflammable (p. ex. linoleum, moquette,
bois, papier, carton, plastique, etc.).

•Protéger l'appareil des sources de chaleur telles que les radiateurs, climatiseurs,
poêles ou toutes autres unités (y compris les amplificateurs) produisant de la
chaleur.
•Ne jamais démonter ni ouvrir le boîtier. L'appareil ne contient aucune pièce
réparable par l'utilisateur. Ne jamais utiliser l'appareil si le boîtier est ouvert.
•Ne pas utiliser l'appareil s'il est visiblement endommagé. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil si
le câble d'alimentation est endommagé.
•Toujours monter l'appareil de manière sûre et stable. Monter l'appareil dans un
endroit offrant une ventilation appropriée.
•L'entretien doit uniquement être effectué par un technicien qualifié.
•Toujours brancher l'appareil sur une prise appropriée (voir étiquette sur l'appareil).
•Toujours installer l'appareil dans un endroit bien ventilé.
•Cet appareil ne convient pas à un fonctionnement continu : des pauses régulières
prolongeront la durée de vie.
•Pour maintenir la valeur IP, tous les accessoires doivent être soigneusement collés
en position. Laisser effectuer par un technicien qualifié.
•Les flexibles lumineux doivent être déroulés pour éviter l'accumulation de chaleur.
L'accumulation de chaleur peut entraîner des situations dangereuses : incendie,
fusion, câblage non isolé, etc.
•Il n'est pas possible de remplacer les LED et les lampes.
•Contrôler le flexible lumineux pour détecter des dommages mécaniques ou l'usure.
Ne pas utiliser le flexible lumineux s'il est endommagé.
•Si une section du flexible lumineux ne s'illumine pas ou clignote, débrancher le
flexible lumineux et ne pas l'utiliser. Couper les sections défectueuses et
reconnecter avec des connecteurs.
3. Directives générales
•Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman® en fin de ce mode
d'emploi.
•Toute modification est interdite pour des raisons de sécurité. Les dommages
occasionnés par des modifications par le client ne tombent pas sous la garantie.
•N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Un usage impropre annule d'office la
garantie.
•La garantie ne se s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en négligeant certaines
directives de ce mode d'emploi et votre revendeur déclinera toute responsabilité
pour les problèmes et les défauts qui en résultent.
•Ni Velleman SA ni ses distributeurs ne peuvent être tenus responsables des
dommages exceptionnels, imprévus ou indirects, quelles que soient la nature
(financière, corporelle, etc.), causés par la possession, l’utilisation ou le
dysfonctionnement de ce produit.
•Garder ce mode d'emploi pour toute référence ultérieure.

5. Test initial
Toujours se référer aux consignes de sécurité ci-dessus.
Tester le flexible lumineux et laisser connecté pour réchauffer le plastique. Cela le rend
plus flexible lors du montage.
6. Assembler les flexibles lumineux
Confier l'installation à un technicien qualifié.
Déconnecter le flexible lumineux du réseau électrique avant de l'installer.
6.1 Connecter le connecteur d'alimentation
1. Glisser la gaine thermorétractable sur le flexible
lumineux.
2. Enfoncer les broches pointues du connecteur
d'alimentation dans le flexible lumineux. S'assurer
que les broches sont introduites entièrement et
connectées au câble d'alimentation du flexible
lumineux.

3. Enfoncer le connecteur d'alimentation fermement
dans la gaine du connecteur.
4. Utiliser un pistolet à air chaud pour sertir la gaine
thermorétractable sur le connecteur.
6.2 Découper les flexibles lumineux
1. S'assurer d'éteindre l'appareil.
2. Le flexible lumineux peut être découpé à certaines longueurs. Les marques de
coupe sont indiquées par le symbole suivant : .
Découper seulement au niveau des marques de coupe .
3. Utiliser un cutter pointu et faire une encoche nette et droite.
6.3 Assemblage avec connecteurs
Voir Spécifications pour les références.
La longueur du flexible lumineux assemblé est de 45 m au maximum. Excéder la
longueur maximale pourrait entraîner de la surchauffe et causer un incendie.
1. S'assurer d'éteindre l'appareil.
2. Utiliser des connecteurs (inline, L, T ou en X) pour connecter les sections du
flexible lumineux.
3. Toujours veiller à ce que les broches soient correctement connectées au manchon.
4. Appliquer de la colle, serrer fermement les 2 parties et s'assurer que le tout soit
bien fixé. Appliquer seulement de la colle sur les parties en plastique –non pas sur
les parties conductrices.
5. Laisser sécher le tout pendant environ 15 minutes avant de l'utiliser.
6.4 Placer les capuchons
Voir Spécifications pour les références.
Placer les capuchons comme suit :
1. Appliquer la colle spéciale sur le flexible lumineux.
Appliquer seulement de la colle sur les parties en plastique –non pas sur les
parties conductrices.
2. Placer soigneusement le bouchon sur l'extrémité du flexible lumineux.
