1. Introduction
Concerning there are quite a few compatibility problems when opensources (linux)
collocates with hardware and most users cannot handle it smoothly, we introduce the low-
priced SSBox under the support of manufacturers who promote opensources intently.
SSLAB is in combination with encoded opensources software applications, no need of
any modifications or drives, so that everyone can use these open-source software easily.
All rewritten software complies with GPL software contract.

2.2 Applicable Software
Standard PC Applications:
•Win XP
Smooth in internet browsing and playing DVD, mpeg I and II (partially smooth in 720p, not smooth in
1080i)

P2P Stream ( PPLive and XBMC can be completely integrated.)
Good software support
Disadvantages:
Embedded Flash occupies large amount of space and S gets damaged easily

Intalled report、penVPN、Firewall、Web Filter、Protocol Control on the 8G CF card with 512
RAM. When there's no client connection, the CPU occupation is 15%. If there's operatioins running,
the CPU occupation will be 100%. Usually, internet-surfing on one client will take up 50% usage of
the CPU.

2.4 Video-out Settings
The are five formats of video output in SSBox:
DVI
AV- ut
S-Video ut
Component (Pr/Pb/Y) ut
D-SUB (VGA) ut (needs adapter)
•BI S Settings
Different output formats require its own settings in BI S
Press DEL to enter into BI S and select Advanced Chipset Features

•Select Display Device
•Make selections depending on different output needs:
DVI Select DVI to fit DVI format
CRT Select VGA to fit CRT format
TV Select TV to fit Component-Video, AV, S-Video formats

•If the screen color is incorrect when using component-video out, re-enter into BI S to select
TV_Connector in Advanced Chipset Features
•Please select the input format that your monitor accepts.
•Save settings before exit.
