INSTRUCTION
(PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATION)

Safety Depends on You
HUAYUAN arc welding and cutting equipments are designed and built with ample safety consideration. However,
proper installing and operating can ensure your safety.
DO NOT INSTALL, OPERATE OR REPAIR THIS EQUIPMENT CASUALLY WITHOUT READING THIS MANUAL
THROUGHOUT.
Special Notes (Very Important):
1. Pay attention to avoiding the machine falling down when it is placed on the gradient ground.
2. It is forbidden to unfreeze the pipeline by the cutter.
3. The shield rank of this series of cutter is IP21S, so working in rain is not suitable.
4.The cutter has external static characteristic with rated duty cycle 100%, which means the machine can work
continuously at the rated cutting current. The machine has the function of thermal protection. When the internal
temperature exceeds a set temperature, thermal protection moves on and the abnormity indicator lamp on the
panel turns ON, then there is no output in cutter. The machine can become normal and work only after the
internal temperature drops down and the abnormity indicator lamp on the panel turns OFF.

Cautions
Arc and arc rays can hurt.
All performing welding workers ought to have health qualification from the authority organization to prevent you and
others from arc radiation and burn. It should be prevented for children to enter into dangerous area as well.
Be careful reading the following important items and the welder safety byelaw from the authority organization. Be sure
that qualified professionals perform all installation, maintenances and repair procedures.
1 Electric shock: The welding circuits are not insulated when welding. If you touch the two output
electrodes of the machine with your bare skin at the same time, it will lead to electric shock,
sometimes even fatal dangers. Users need to follow the items below to avoid electric shocks:
If possible, lay some insulating materials, which are dry and large enough, in your working field. Otherwise,
use the automatic or semiautomatic welding machine, DC welding machine as possible as you can.
Components in the automatic and semiautomatic welding machine such as the welding wire reel, feed
wheel, contact tip and welding head are all electric components. .
Always be sure the machine has been connected perfectly to the work piece with the work cables and
should be as close as possible to the working area.
The work piece should be grounded perfectly.
Make sure that the insulating material of the electrode holder, the grounding clamp, the welding cable and
the welding head are not affected by damp, mildewed or spoilt, and be replaced momentarily.
Never dip the electrode in water for cooling.
Never touch electric components of two welding machines at the same time, because this voltage is
supposed to be two times of welding voltage while the grounding mode is not clear.
While working high above the ground or other places having the risk of falling, please be sure to wear safety
belt to avoid losing balance caused by electric shock.
2 Arc: Use an arc welding mask to protect your eyes and skin from sparks and the rays of the arc, pay
special attention to the filter glass, which must be conformable to the national standard.
Use clothing made from durable flame-resistant material or sailcloth to protect your skin
from hurting by the arc rays.
Remind other nearby personnel before working lest arc rays hurt them by accident.
3 Fumes and Gases: Welding may produce fumes and gases hazardous to health. Avoid breathing
these fumes and gases. While working in limited room, use enough ventilation and/or exhaust to keep
fumes and gases away from the breathing zone, or use the respirator. Do not weld at the same time
when using of degreasing, cleaning or spraying operations. The heat and rays of the arc can react with
these gases to form phosgene, a highly toxic gas,
Some protective gases used in welding might displace the oxygen in the air, and can lead to hurt or even
death.
Read and understand the manufacturer’s instructions for this equipment, and validate the health
certification of consumptive materials, make sure they are innocuous.
4 Spatter: Spatter can cause fire or explosion.
Remove fire hazards from the welding area. Remember that spatter from welding can
easily go through small cracks and touch fire hazards. Protect all kinds of lines going though
welding area, including hydraulic lines in the wild.
Where compressed gases are to be used in the field, special precautions should be used to prevent
explosion.
When welding stops, make certain that no live part is touching the work piece or the work stage. Accidental
contact can create a fire hazard.
Do not weld containers or lines, which are not proved to be innocuous.
It is very dangerous to heat, cut or weld tanks or containers at entry holes. Does not start work until the
proper steps have been taken to insure that there is no flammable or toxic gas.
Spatter might cause burn. Wear leather gloves, heavy shirt, cuffless trousers, high shoes and a cap over your
hair to prevent from burning by spatter. Wear the ear shield when performing sideways or face up welding.

Always wear safety glasses with side shields when being in a welding area.
The welding cables should be as close to the welding area as possible, and the short, the better. Avoid
welding cables going through the building framework, lifting chains, AC or DC cables of other welding machines
and appliances. The welding current is strong enough to damage them while having short circuit with them.
5 Cylinder: Damage of it might cause explosion.
Make sure that the gas in the storage cylinder is qualified for welding, and the
decompression flow-meter, the adapter and the pipe are all in good condition.
Make sure that the installation of cylinder is by the wall and bundled tightly by a chain.
Be sure to put the cylinder in the working space with no crash or shake, and far from welding area.
It is forbidden to touch cylinder with the welding clamp or the work cables.
Avoid facing the cylinder while installing the decompression flow-meter or the gasometer.
When not working, please tighten the valve.
6 Power: (For electrically powered welding and cutting equipment) Turn off input power before
installation, maintenances and repair, so that avoid accident.
HUAYUAN welding equipment is Ι class safeguard equipment; please install the equipment
in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations by specific persons.
Ground the equipment perfectly in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
7 Power:(For engine driven welding and cutting equipment)
Work in ventilated place or outdoors.
Do not add fuel near to fire or during engine starting or welding. When not working, add fuel
after engine is cooling down; otherwise, the evaporation of hot fuel would result in dangers. Do
not splash fuel out of the fuel tank, and do not start the engine until complete evaporation of the
outside fuel.
Make sure that all the safeguard equipment, machine cover and devices are all in a good
condition. Be sure that arms, clothes and all the tools do not touch all the moving and rotating
components including V belt, gear and fan etc.
Sometimes having to dismantle some parts of the device during maintenance, but must keep
safety awareness strongly every time.
Do not put your hand close to fans and do not move the brake handle while operating.
Please remove the connection between the engine and the welding equipment to avoid sudden starting
during maintenance.
When engine is hot, it is forbidden to open the airtight cover of the radiator water tank to avoid hurt by the
hot vapor.
8 Electromagnetic: Welding current going though any area can generate electromagnetic, as well as the
welding equipment itself.
Electromagnetic would affect cardiac pacemaker, the cardiac pacemaker users should
consult one’s doctor first.
The effect of electromagnetic to one’s health is not confirmed, so it might have some negative effect to
one’s health.
Welders may use following method to reduce the hazardous of electromagnetic:
a. Bundle the cable connected to the work piece and the welding cable together.
b. Do not enwind partially or entirely your body with the cable.
c. Do not place yourself between the welding cable and the ground (work piece) cable, if the welding cable is by your
left side, then the ground cable should be by your left side too.
d. The Welding cable and the ground cable are as short as possible.
e. Do not work near to the welding power source.
9 Lift Equipment: carton or wooden boxes package the welding machines supplied by HUAYUAN.
There is no lifting equipment in its wrapper. Users can move it to the prospective area by a fork-lift
truck, and then open the box.
If having rings, the machine can be transited using rings. While HUAYUAN Welding Machine
Manufacture reminds users, there is possible risk to damage the welding machine. It is better to
push the welding machine moving in use of its rollers unless special situations.

Be sure that the appurtenances are all removed off when lifting.
When lifting, make sure that there is no person below the welding machine, and remind
people passing by at any moment.
Do not move the hoist too fast.
10 Noise: HUAYUAN Welding Machine Manufacture reminds users: Noise beyond the limit (over 80
db) can cause injury to vision, heart and audition depending on oneself. Please consult local medical
institution. Use the equipment with doctor’s permission would help to keeping healthy.

2Operation Environment
To get a good cutting performance, please operate this machine as below environmental requirement
1. Please use the machine in a clear place without any of dust, corrosive gas and inflammables and explosives; Do not
use it in open air and rain;
2. Required air relative humidity should ≤90%(at 20℃),40℃≤50%(at 40℃);
3. Environment temperature range should be at-10℃~40℃;
4. Keep the machine away from the wall of some other closure things at least 30cm, two machines distance at least
30cm.
5. Use it under altitude lower than 1000m.

4Panel and functions
As figure 2
1. Digital current meter: when it;s not cutting, it displays the preset cutting current. When it’s cutting, it displays the
real cutting current.
2. Power light: It indicates if the machine is on power;
3. Gas pressure light: a light which indicate the compressed air pressure, it lights when the air pressure is higher than
0.2Mpa and lights out when pressure is lower than 0.15Mpa;
4. Start lights: it lights when the machine is on or on cutting process;
5. Overheating lights: it lights when the machine inner temperature is too high(When the cooling fan is broken or the
machine work over the capacity);
6. Power abnormal light: it lights when the input power is abnormal or overload;
7. Current adjusting knot: it adjust the cutting current;
8. Gas control switch: when pressed on gas checking” ”, the gas valve open, to check the gas flow; when pressed
on cutting” “, the valved will be controlled automatically;
9. Cutting mode switch: when pressed on cutting” “, it cuts metal plates; when pressed on cutting” “, it cuts
metal nets;

16. The air regulating and filtering device: to adjust the air pressure and filter the water and grease in the air;
17. Connector of arc voltage output: output 1:1 arc voltage , plug 1 is positive and plug 2 is negative, connect it to the
CNC control system with cabtyre cables which is ≥500VDC.
18. Controlling signal: to connect with the CNC cutting machine.
Plug 1 and 2 is the signal outputs of arc striking, it is in short circuit after arc stroke, and it can control the
signals which is lower than 125VAC/0.3Aand 30VDC/1A;
Plug 3 and 4 is the control connector to start the plasma cutting machine, this connector can only be
controlled by one group of switches.

5System constitute
LG-125HA is constituted by one LG-125HA plasma power source and a QFK-C arc strike ignition, the arc strike ignition is
installed on the walking part of the CNC machine tool, and it is connected with the plasma power source by control cables.

6Installation and operation
6.1 Flitting and Lifting
1. Before moving the plasma, make sure the power is off and take out of the power line;
2. When moving, the plasma should never be lie down or inclined;
3. When lifting, it must be lifted vertically;
4. When transported, it must be fixed by foam, and make sure the rain-proof.
6.2 Installation and connection
1. The installation environment must accord with the “二” operation environmental requirement;
2. Check if all the equipment is prepared according to contents in “五”, and install the machine by figure 3;
3. Please cut off the power before installation and connection;
4. If the plasma is put on a slant place, make sure it will not topple and fall;
5. The installation grade of this plasma is IP21S, that means it can not use in rain.
6. Power supply requirement
Voltage fluctuation ≤±15%;

7. The installation of power supply cable
Firstly cut off the power, then connect the power cable with the distribution box, make sure the right voltage
and connect it carefully;
8. The connection of the grounding cable
Reliably connect the ground cable of green-yellow line to the ground, and make sure to use the right cable
which accord with the specification of above reference table.
9. The installation and connection of the arc strike ignition (refer to figure 3):
The arc strike ignition can be installed on the walking part of CNC machine tool or some other fixed position,
the dimension and size of the arc ignition please check the figure 4, use can install it by actual operation
environment;
Install it on a horizontal position;
Connect the ignition with the plasma power source by the control cables, refer to the figure 3;
Connect the ground cable with ignition terminal and machine tool;
The connection of cutting torch: firstly, connect the M16 nut that on the torch with the brass mouthpiece on
ignition which marked with “gas/electric output”, and screw up the nut; then connect the arc striking line of

the torch with binding posts on ignition which marked with”arc striking”, and screw up the nut;

10. The connection of compressed air and the operation of pressure regulating filter(The function of pressure
regulating filter, please check the figure 5)

The pressed air must accord with the requirement as in “三” of 2, connect the air hose with the inlet valve on
plasma. The operation of pressure regulating filter: when regulate the pressure, pull up the regulating screw first,
then rotate it, rotate left to reduce the air pressure and rotate right to increase the air pressure, after regulating,
press the screw return.

The pressure regulating filter should be checked and discharged water regularly. It must be discharged water
when the water lever arrive to 2/3 of filter cup, or the cutting performance can not be ensured. When discharging
water, cut off the air valve, and press on knob on “check air” on panel, when gas pressure meter indicate on 0,
water will be discharged automatically.
11. The connection of the CNC machine tool: please refer to the 17th and 18th of “四”, connect the control signal of
machine tool and the plasma, the arc voltage signal line should be connected to the CNC control system with
cabtyre cables which is ≥500VDC.
12. The connection of cutting ground cable
13. Connect the quick coupling terminal of grounding cable with connector of “grounding cable” on plasma, screw up,
connect the other terminal of grounding cable with workpiece.
6.3 Usage
1. After complete installation and connections, turn on the power, then the power light will light up.
2. Start the gas supply equipment and open the gas supply switch, then the gas pressure indicator light will light up.
If the gas pressure is lower than 0.2Mpa, the indicator light will not light up, and the gas supply should be checked.
3. Turn the switch on panel to “gas checking”, regulate the pressure regulating filter to get the right pressure, then
turn the switch on “cutting”;
4. Check the indicator lights on panel, only if same as the below table, the machine can cut.

5. Start cutting at the edge of the workpiece plate, the distance between nozzle and workpiece should be in a range
of 2~5mm, the axis of nozzle should be vertical with the workpiece. The cnc machine tool send the starting signal,
the compressed gas sprayed out from nozzle, after pre-gas, high frequency is produced and then the arc stroke,
the machine start walking and cutting.
7Working principal
IGBT is chosen to the main component of the inverter switch in the main circuit. The AC power is rectified to
20KHz high frequency current by full-bridge power frequency. The high frequency current is step-down by high
frequency transformer, rectified by recovery diode and filtered by reactor, then output the cutting current. The
control circuit control the output current by controlling the width of driving pulse. The cutting current ampere of
real-time is obtained by electric current transducer cascaded on output terminal, as a negative feedback control
signal, it will be compared with current adjusting signal, then input it to the special PWM modulation integrated
circuit, output controlled driven pulse to control the IGBT to get a constant current , then get a constant current
external characteristic. The arc striking is non-contact type.

1. When the gas pressure is lower than 0.2 MPa, the protection circuit woks and plasma will stop working;
2. When cutting, if the pressure is lower than 0.15 MPa, the cutting arc will stop;
Note: the cutting pressure could only be adjusted when press the switch to “Air checking” on panel!
Over-heating protection
When environmental temperature is higher than 40℃or anything abnormal of cooling fan, working on rated
cutting current, if the plasma is over-heating, the over-heating protection circuit start to work and cutting stop.
Voltage Input fault protection
Any phase default or 20% higher or lower than standard voltage, the protection circuit works, and plasma stop
working.
9Maintenance
1.The machine should not be used or store in the sun;
2.The machine should not be used or store in the wet;
3.The air hole should not be covered when using;
4.The cover should be opened at least once a year to clear the inner impurities and sundries;
5.Regularly check all the insulation of cables, anything broken, it should be repaired soon;
6.Regularly check all the connections of machine, if anything loosen, it should be tighten soon;
7.Regularly clear the water and dirties in pressure regulating filter.
Note: when repair or maintenance, let a professional electrician remove the power line in distribution box,
then open the cover.
10 Trouble shooting and repairing
There is high voltage inside the machine, only professional electrician could repair the machine;
If anything wrong, please firstly check:
1、If the distribute voltage is normal and stable;
2、If the input fault indicator on panel light on, then check the power switch of distributor, fuse and power line, if
anything broken, the plasma stops;

3、Check if there is anything broken on connections, torch nozzles and electrodes;
4、Check if there are any connection faults on machine tools control signals,
5、Check if the ground cable is connected well;
6、Check if water in pressure regulating filter is discharged;
7、If the gas pressure indicator on panel is light off, check if the gas hose is connected well and check if the pressure is
normal;
8、If the over-heating indicator on panel light on, check the temperature relay;
9、Open the cover and check the fuse beside the controlling transformer;
