1. Important Information
Please read the manual carefully and completely to make yourself
familiar with the various functions of your HUNICOM Walkie Talkie
PMR446 radio.
Carefully unpack the transceiver. We recommend that you identify the
items listed in the following table before discarding the packing
material. If any items are missing or have been damaged during
shipment, please contact the dealers immediately.

Please make sure that the hard case contains the following

3.3 Accessory socket
If you would like to use an headset
with angle plug, make sure that the
angle shows to the left side.
Otherwise it might interfer with the
units antenna.
4. Charging the battery
1) Plug the wall adaptor into the AC power outlet or plug the USB cable into
the P/C or any other USB port.
2)Connect the USB Charging cable with the USB Type-c jack of the unit.
3)Charge the radio. It will take 3 to 5 hours for full charging.
5. Basic Operations
5.1 Power On / Off
To turn the radio on, press and hold the power button for about 2
seconds.
To turn the radio off, press the button for 2 seconds again.
5.2 Adjusting the Radio Volume
Adjust the volume level by using the Up/Down keys. There are 8 volume
levels available.
5.3 Transmission
To transmit. check the channel and make sure it is vacant.

1)To transmit, press and hold the PTT button and speak into the
microphone with a normal voice.
2)To return to receiving mode, release the PTT button.
5.4 Channel Selection
Press the Menu button for 2 seconds until the current channel number is
blinking.
Select a channel number by pressing the Up/Down keys and confirm it by
pressing the PTT button.
5.5 Key Lock
Press the Key Lock button (F)for about 2 seconds to activate the key lock.
To unlock the radio again, press the button again for 2 seconds.
6. Advanced Operations
To set or change advanced options, first press the Menu button(M)for 2
seconds until the channel number is blinking. Afterwards shortly press the
Menu button repeatedly again until you reach the desired sub-menu. In
each sub-menu you can change the settings by pressing the Up/Down
keys and confirm your selection afterwards with the PTT button.

6.1 CTCSS/DCS(Tone)
Privacy Codes(CTCSS and DCS Tone Codes)
This radio is fitted with 52 Analogue Privacy codes(also known as CTCSS,
sub-codes or sub- channels )and 208 Digital Privacy codes(also known as
DCS codes). Only one type of Privacy code can be used on each channel.
Selecting a Digital Privacy code will override any Analogue Privacy code
settings. If the other unit(s)do not have privacy codes ensure your units
privacy codes (analogue and digital)are set to “off ”. 14

Please note that privacy codes do not prevent other radio users from hearing
your conversation.
They simply allow you to ignore incoming messages that are using a
different privacy code.
6.2 Key Tones( BP)
If the Beep tone is activated, your radio will emit a"Beep”confirmation tone
whenever you use any button.
6.3 DTMF(DT)
The DTMF tone is a kind of combinations of short tones. The DTMF tone
can preamble to the message upon every press of the PTT button.
Selecting this allows the other party never to miss your initial message that
might arrive before the audio of the other partys is open to receive. This
can be activated or de-activated.
6.4 Roger Beep ( RG)
The Roger Beep is a short tone that is automatically added to the end of
your transmissions to te other users that you have finished speaking. You
can activate or deactivate the Roger Beep as required.
6.5 Compander(CP)
If the compander is activated, your radio will eliminate the background
noise and generate clear sound by cutting off the high and low frequencies.
The users who prefer the unmodified sound are recommended to use the
radio with this compander unactivated. This option is not compatible to
other radio models.
6.6 Scrambler( SR)
Your radio incorporates a voice scrambler using band inversion method.
This will change the audio so that users without scrambler will not be able
to understand your communication. The scrambler is compatible with some
scramblers used by other manufacturers. This can be activated or
deactivated.

6.7 Call Tone(CL)
To alert other users to your message and gain their attention you can send
a Call Tone alert melod by pressing the PTT button twice in quick
succession. There are three different call alert tones.
Note: In order to use Call Tone the Beep function also needs to be
activated.
6.8 Squelch(SQ)
This function allows you to adiust the squelch level of your radio.
There are 3 different squelch levels available. Level 1 is the most
sensitive(open)and level 3 is the least sensitive(closed).
6.9 Scan(SC)
Scan may be useful for hands-free monitoring of several frequencies.
The transceiver stops scanning at a frequency when a signal is detected
and continues scanning if no signal is received for 5 seconds.
6.10 Dual Watch(DW)
Dual Watch mode allows you to monitor two channels-a primary channel
and the dual watch channel. When a signal is received on either channel
the unit will pause for 5 seconds before resuming the dual watch.
Select the channel number you would like to monitor as second channel in
the Dual Watch menu.
6.11 VOX (VX)
When Hands Free (VOX)MODE is selected the radio will automatically
transmit when the microphone detects your voice(or other noises).
It can be used with the internal microphone or a suitable audio
accessory(available separately).
To avoid accidental operation and reduce the effect of background noise,
there are 2 microphone sensitivity settings(High/Low)available.
6.12 Squelch Tail (ST)
This feature eliminates the white noise at the end of transmissions.
It is required to match the ST number between the receiving radio and the
transmitting radio.
It has been set at ST 56 as a default.

7. Technical specification
Service should only be done by qualified technicians.
Do not disassemble or modify the transceiver for any reason.
Do not expose the transceiver under direct sunlight for long time or to
extremely hot condition.
Do not place the transceiver on any unstable surface.
Keep the transceiver out of dust, moisture, and water.
Do not operate the transceiver or charge the battery pack under
explosive conditions.

9. Warranty and Recycling Information
We are legally obliged to include disposal and warranty information as well
as EU declaration of conformity with the use instructions in diferent
countries for every unit.
2-year Warranty from Date of Purchase
The manufacturer/retailer guarantees this product for two years from date
of purchase. This warranty includes all malfunctions caused by defective
components or incorrect functions within the warrant period excluding wear
and tear, such as exhausted batteries, scratches on the display, defective
casing, broken antenna and defects due to external effects such as
corrosion, over voltage through improper external power supply or the use
of unsuitable accessories. Defects due to unintended use are also
excluded from the warranty.
Please contact your local dealer for warranty claims. The dealer will repair
or exchange the product or forward it to an authorized service center. You
can also contact our service partner directly. Please include your proof of
purchase with the product and describe the malfunction as clearly as
possible.
The European laws do not allow any more the disposal of old or
defective electric or electronic devices with the household waste.
Return your product to a municipal collection point for recycling
to dispose of it. This system is financed by the industry and
ensures environmentally responsible disposal and the recycling
of valuable raw materials.
