1: Introduction
Thank you for your purchase of the LF12BP bass loudspeaker, which has been designed
and engineered to provide many years of reliable service when correctly installed within
an audio system
The LF12BP is shipped in a heavy-duty double-walled cardboard packing container,
which provides a good level of transit protection
Upon unpacking please inspect the loudspeaker for any signs of transit damage, and in
the unlikely event of this happening inform your Hush Audio dealer immediately Claims
for damage must be made to the shipping company within 2 days of receiving the
product
The LF12BP has been developed to provide effective low frequency support within an
audio system whilst maintaining a compact format Its dual bandpass design provides
high efficiency over a specific frequency range
It can be used in singles to augment bass output in a background music system or in
multiples for higher output audio systems
Constructed from 18mm birch plywood, the LF12BP includes a robust low frequency 12”
drive unit featuring a 3” CCAW voice coil

2: Correct installation and operating procedure
•The LF12BP is designed for floor mounting, however it can also be flown using 4 x M
forged eyebolts. If flying, please ensure that the all fixings and supports have the
correct weight loading parameters.
•Only install the loudspeaker indoors in a dry environment.
•Observe the maximum power rating and recommendations shown within the
specifications (see section 5 & 6).
•This loudspeaker is designed to reinforce bass response within installed music systems.
3: Suggested installation positioning
The positioning of a subwoofer within a room can have a dramatic effect on its output level
and following table describes potential output level with regards to this.
In a corner Maximum output
Against a wall Medium output
In the middle of the room Lower output
Flown suspended in the middle of the room Lowest output
Whilst it might be preferential to get the maximum output from the subwoofer, depending
on the room layout phase cancellation may occur culminating in an uneven response, so
some trial positioning may be required.
Suggested installation cable
The choice of installation cable can have quite an effect on a loudspeaker’s performance
and the overall performance of the audio system. Cable type and diameter should be
taken into account to ensure that the loudspeaker performs to its best and that power is not
lost in the system.
A good quality copper cable should be used to install the LF12BP and the thicker the better.
Suggested diameters of cable v distance are shown in the list below
Distance
Up to 20m At least 2.5mm diameter per core
20m to 50m At least 4mm diameter per core

The loudspeaker features two NL4 four pole
Neutrik Speakon
™
sockets
These two connectors are paralleled together
and allow for linking to an additional
loudspeaker
Each Speakon
™
is wired in the following manner;
+1 positive input from amplifier
-1 negative input from amplifier
Please observe polarity especially if multiple loudspeakers are installed on the system
