CARBON MONOXIDE ! (the silent killer)
As with all grills and cooking appliances, anytime you burn a material (whether it be wood, gas, or charcoal),
organic gases are formed during the cooking process. One gas that can be particularly harmful in
concentrated quantities is carbon monoxide. Follow these guidelines to prevent this colorless, odorless gas
from poisoning you, your family, or others:
DO NOT use this appliance indoors or in an
enclosed, unventilated area. In an outdoor,
open-air environment, carbon monoxide should
naturally dissipate and not harm you.
Know the symptoms of carbon monoxide
poisoning: headache, dizziness, weakness,
nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, and confusion.
See a doctor if you or others develop cold- or
flu-like symptoms while cooking or in the vicinity
of this appliance. Carbon monoxide poisoning,
which can easily be mistaken for a cold or flu, is
often detected too late.
Alcohol consumption and drug use increase the
effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Carbon monoxide is especially toxic to mother
and child during pregnancy, infants, the elderly,
smokers, and people with blood or circulatory
system problems, such as anemia or heart
disease.
WARNINGS !
Assemble and operate this grill ONLY per the
assemble instructions in the Owner’s Manual.
Plug into an appropriate 3-prong outlet. An
electrical supply with GFCI protection is
required.
To protect against shock hazard, unplug the
power cord when not in use. DO NOT use your
grill in the rain or around any water source. And
keep electrical supply cords away from heated
surfaces.
Only use the grill outside on a noncombustible
floor and away from combustible materials. Keep
the grill at least 12 inches away from
combustibles aside and at least 40 inches away
from the combustibles overhead.
DO NOT use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel,
kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, or flammable
liquids to start or “freshen up” a fire in this
appliance. Keep all such liquids well away from
this appliance when in use.
DO NOT use heating fuel pellets in the grill, due
to potential hazardous contaminants and
additives that may be present.
DO NOT leave the grill unattended when young
children are present. DO NOT move or attempt
to transport the grill before it cool thoroughly. So
as to avoid burns, both during operation and
afterwards, while the grill is still hot.
Always store wood pellets in a dry location, away
from heat-producing appliances and other fuel
containers.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
INITIAL IGNITING
These instructions should be followed the first time the grill is ignited, and each time the grill runs out of
pellets in the hopper
1) Open the grill lid and take out the smoke shelf, porcelain-coated grill grate, slide heat baffle and grease
drain pan from your grill.
2) Ensure the switch is in the OFF(O) position. Plug the power cord into an appropriate grounded
electrical outlet.
3) Open the pellet hopper lid and locate the auger. Make sure there are no foreign objects in the auger
tube. Turn the switch ON (I) and turn the temperature dial to SMOKE. Make sure the auger is turning
inside of the pellet hopper.
4) Check that there is air movement from the draft inducer fan by placing your fingers over the burn-pot.
DO NOT place your hand or fingers inside the fire-pot. This can cause injury. If the hot rod is getting hot,
it will turn red. CAUTION! Do not touch the hot rod. Turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle.
5) Load the pellet hopper with dry, all natural hardwood pellets.Turn the temperature dial to HIGH. When
the wood pellets start to fall into the fire-pot, turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle.
6) Turn the temperature dial to SMOKE and let the hot rod ignite the wood pellets. Once you see flames
come out of the fire-pot, turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle and switch to OFF(O). Let your
pellet grill cool down.
7) Place the grease drain pan, the heat baffle and porcelain-coated grill grates back into the grill.
8) Turn the switch ON(O) and temperature dial to SMOKE with grill lid open. In about 2 minutes you will
notice whitish-gray smoke coming out of your pellet grill as the wood pellets ignited. Close the grill lid
and turn the temperature dial to HIGH for 30-40 minutes to burn-off the grill and rid it of any foreign
matter. Then turn the temperature dial to any temperature desired and enjoy cooking.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS (cont.)
SUBSEQUENT START-UP
1) Turn the temperature dial to SMOKE with the grill lid open. In about 2 minutes you will notice
whitish-gray smoke coming out of your pellet grill as the wood pellets ignite.
2) Turn the temperature dial to 350°F to preheat your pellet grill for about 15 minutes with the lid closed
before placing food in the pellet grill. Then turn the temperature dial to any cooking setting desired with
the grill lid closed.
MANUAL START-UP
(For temporary remedy when hot rod malfunction occurs.)
1) Ensure the Temperature Control Dial is in the SMOKE position. Plug the power cord into a grounded
power source.
2) Check burn pot to ensure there is no obstruction for proper ignition. Open the hopper lid. Ensure there
are no foreign objects in the hopper or auger feed system. Fill hopper with dry, all natural hardwood
barbecue pellets.
3) Open the barrel lid. Remove the cooking components to expose the fire pot. Place a generous handful
of pellets into the fire pot. Squirt a gelled fire starter, or other appropriate pellet starter, over the top of
the pellets. A small amount of solid fuel fire starter, such as one composed of sawdust and wax, or
wood shavings, is also appropriate. Add another small amount of pellets in the fire pot.NOTE: Do not
use spirit, petrol, gasoline, lighter-fluid or kerosene for lighting or refreshing a fire in your grill.
4) Light the contents of the fire pot using a long match or long-nosed lighter. Allow the starter to burn for
3 to 5 minutes.Do not attempt to add more starter into the burn pot. This can cause injury.
5) Quickly and carefully replace the cooking components to the inside of the main barrel. Continue the
rest start-up procedures.
Note: It is important to allow your grill to preheat before every cook session. This allows the grill and
cooking grids to heat up quicker, kill off bacteria and other pathogens leftover from past grill sessions, and
the grill is then able to maintain its cooking temperature
CONTROL SHUTDOWN CYCLE
Your wood pellet grill comes with an automatic shut down cycle. When finished cooking in your pellet grill,
turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle , which will leave the draft Inducer fan operating for 10
minutes to burn any excess wood pellets in the fire-pot. After the fan operates for 10 minutes the controller
will power off. The fan and controller will stop running.
WARNING !
When on initial firing or anytime the grill runs out of pellets, ensure there is no blockage of wood pellets
in the auger tube.
Start the grill on smoke setting with the door open. Once the pellets are ignited, close the door and set
the temperature dial to any desired cooking temperature.
When operating this grill, maintain a minimum clearance of 12 inches from grill to combustibles.
Never use heating fuel pellets in your pellet grill.
Due to high heat, do not cover the grease drain pan/slide heater baffle or probes with aluminum foil.
8

Clean the grease drain pan frequently to reduce the possibility of a grease fire.
The main power switch will shut off power to the control, and the temperature dial switch will shut off
power to the grill components only. When servicing the control or any other parts, ensure that the
power supply is disconnected to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
OPERATING TIPS
To help you become more familiar with your grill, please follow these helpful tips and techniques.
1) The Temperature Dial:
a. The HIGH temperature settings are for grilling.
b. The mid range temperature settings are for slow cooking.
c. The SMOKE setting is for smoking and adding smoke flavor to foods being cooked. The SMOKE
setting can also be used to “hold” foods at about 150 to 180 °F.
2) Digital Thermostat Control Functions:
After setting your cooking temperature, the auger will work continuously until the setting temperature is
reached. From this time forward, the digital control will turn the auger’s rotation on and off to maintain
the set temperature. There is no temperature control with the SMOKE setting. This timed cycle setting
for SMOKE is a factory preset recommended to develop a SMOKING temperature of 150 to 180°F .
3) Using the Meat Probes:
a. Insert 1 or 2 meat probes into the plug-in holes on the lower left corner of the controller, then thread
probes through the access hole grommet on the left side of the grill barrel.
b. Insert probe tip into meat, making sure it's not in the fatty portion or touching bone, but is halfway into
the thickest part of the meat.
c. Reading the temperature: Press the Probe selector switch on the control. The probe temperature will
display for 5 seconds then revert back to the temperature of the grill.
4) DO NOT move or attempt to transport the grill before it cool thoroughly. NEVER put water into the
fire-pot. It will jam the auger and auger tube.
5) Start the grill on smoke setting with the lid open. Once the pellets are ignited ,closed the lid. Cooking
with the Grill lid open will greatly extend your cooking time.
6) Never add wood pellets to a hot fire-pot by hand. This is very dangerous and you may be seriously
burnt.
7) Be sure the grease drain pan is properly seated on its location. Short Lip end hooks over the grease
drain pan support on the left side of your grill. The long lip end should rest in the V-shaped grease drain
located inside your grill on the right. If not seated properly, the accumulated grease may cause grease
fire due to the direct heat and flame .
8) When calculating cooking times, the outside temperature will be an important factor. If it is very hot
outside, it will take less time for food to cook. If it is cold, wet or windy, it will take longer.
9) Failing to clean the grease drain pan, V-shaped grease drain and grease drain tube on a consistent
basis, may cause the grease fires. In the unlikely event of a grease fire while cooking, turn the switch
OFF (O) to reduce the amount of oxygen in the cooking chamber and keep the lid closed until the fire is
completely out. Never keep the door open during a grease fire. If the fire does not go out, lightly
sprinkle baking soda on the fire.
9

OPERATING TIPS (cont.)
10) If at any times, your pellet grill fails to ignite wood pellets in the fire-pot while cooking or smoking, when
abundant wood pellets are still in the pellet hopper, it is very important to follow these steps below.
Failure to do so may cause a hazardous “over-firing” of your pellet grill due to excess of unburnt wood
pellets in the fire-pot.
a. Turn the switch to OFF(O) and disconnect the power cord. Let the grill cool down thoroughly.
b. Remove all unburnt wood pellets and ash from inside and around the fire-pot. Then follow the INITIAL
IGNITING instruction above to restart the grill.
11) Hopper Clean-Out: Your Grill has a hopper clean-out system that allows you to quickly change from
one pellet flavor to another without making a mess.
a. Turn the switch to OFF (O) and disconnect the power cord. If the grill is still hot, allow it to cool
completely.
b. Place a container large enough to hold the discarded pellets under the pellet clean-out door.
c. Unscrew the clean-out door fastener and open, allowing the pellets to empty into the container below it.
You might need a spatula or spoon to push the remaining pellets out of the hopper.
d. Once the hopper's empty, close the door, replace the fastener, and refill the hopper with a different
flavor of wood pellets.
CARE&MAINTAINING TIPS
To keep your grill performing at an excellent level, please follow these care and maintaining tips to service
your grill.
IMPORTANT: Disconnect the power cord and wear gloves when servicing/cleaning the grill
An important step is allowing the grill and cooking grids to self-clean by running the grill at a high
temperature for 5 to 10 minutes after each use.
Auger Assembly Clean: Clean when auger hopper is empty. Allow auger to push out sawdust and
excess pellets in the auger tube. A vacuum cleanser is the best way to clean if available .
Grid and Smoker Shelf Clean: Use a long-handled grill cleaning brush (brass or soft metal) to remove
any food or build-up from the cooking grid and smoker shelf. Best practice is to do this while they are
still warm from a previous cook. Grease fires are caused by too much fallen debris on the cooking
components of the grill. Clean the inside of your grill on a consistent basis.
Grease Drain Pan and Slide Heat Baffle Clean: Wipe up remaining grease residue on the grease drain
pan and slide heat baffle with paper towels or disposable rags. DO NOT WASH CLEAN! Clean upon
every 5-6 Grill Sessions.
Fire Pot Clean: A vacuum cleaner is the best way to clean the pellet ash from the fire-pot but this must
be done with extreme care to avoid fire risk. Again, removing the pellet ash from the fire-pot should be
done only while your pellet grill cools down thoroughly. Clean upon every 2-3 Grill sessions.
Grease Bucket Clean: Check your grease bucket often, and clean out as necessary. Wrap your grease
bucket with aluminum foil for convenient clean-up. Empty it periodically, depending on amount of use.
Replace the aluminum foil on the Grease Drain Pan frequently will make your food taste better and
lower the risk of a grease fire.
10

CARE&MAINTAINING TIPS (cont.)
Barrel Surface Clean:Use a paper towel or disposable rag, moistened with warm soapy water to wipe
the grease from the outside of the pellet grill. Never use abrasive cleaning pads, abrasive cleansers or
oven cleaner on the outside pellet grill surfaces.
Outside Storage: If the pellet grill is placed outside during the rainy season, ensure that rain does not
get into the pellet hopper. Wood pellets, when wet, inflate greatly and will block the auger and auger
tube. We advise to use a grill cover to protect your pellet grill if possible. In addition, if the rainwater
does get into auger tube, please clean out all wet wood pellets in auger tube before igniting.
