1 Introduction
With the PLC Stamp 1200 micro evaluation kit you can kickstart the development of your own Homeplug AV2
Powerline enabled device.
The bundle consists of:
•1x PLC Stamp 1200 micro
•1x PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVB
•1x PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVB Ethernet daughter board
•1x IEC mains cable
•2x Ethernet cable
•1x Gigabit Powerline Adapter
You will also need:
•2 Computers or Notebooks with an Gigabit Ethernet port
2 Connect the bundle ...
Configure the EVB for the Ethernet Daugther Board:
•place jumper as shown in Figure 1
Connect the EVB as shown in Figure 2
•plug in the IEC power connector to PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVB
•plug the PLC Gigabit Adapter into wall socket
•plug in the CAT5 (or higher) ethernet cable between PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVB and Computer #1
•plug in the CAT5 (or higher) ethernet cable between PLC Gigabit Adapter and Computer #2

3 Start the bundle
After inserting the IEC power connector into the PLC Stamp 1200 micro EVB and the PLC Gigabit Adapter into the
wall socket both devices boot up. This takes less than 5 seconds.
Both PLC devices are configurated to be in the same power LAN by default. For security reasons you can change
the predefined network membership key, see datasheet for this.
The two computers should be able to communicate now if their network settings are correct as if they would be
connected directly.
