Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as
in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power
tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug
in any way. Do not use any adapted plugs with earthed(grounded)
power tools. Modified plugs and un-matching outlets will increase
the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as
pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased
risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep it away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts.
When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord
suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.

Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes,
hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will
reduce personal injuries.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-
position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack,
picking up or carrying the tool.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power
tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the
power tool may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
Dress properly, say no to loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction
and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and
properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair-person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the power tool is maintained.

RESIDUAL RISKS

6
This power tool is intended for sanding drywall for home use
only. Using this tool for professional purposes will reduce the
tool’s lifespan and cause parts to wear down sooner.
Do not force the machine to do other jobs, such as grinding,
cutting off, grooming, etc. Operations for which the tool is not
designed, including modification of the machine, may cause
machine damage, personal injuries, and invalidate the warranty.
Use of personal protective equipment is recommended to
reduce the risk of personal injuries. Use Safety goggles with side
shields, Ear protection such as plugs or muffs, Face mask or dust
mask to fight the debris produced by operation, Heavy-duty work
gloves to protect your hands and Safety non-slip work boots.
Keep bystanders and all other living creatures, away from the
work area. Do not operate the tool in the presence of flammable
liquids or gases. Do not operate the tool in wet or damp conditions.
Always hold your tool firmly with both hands to maintain
control and to avoid kickback. Never place your hand near the
rotating accessory. Do not position your body in the area where
power tool moves. The operator can control torque reactions or
kickback forces, if proper precautions are taken.
The rated speed of the accessories (rotating) must be at least
equal to the maximum speed of the power tool. Accessories
running faster than their rated speed can break and fly apart.
The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must
be within the capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly
sized accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controlled.
Keep the work area well ventilated. There is an LED Option on the
product itself. Ensure that the workplace lighting is adequate,
and/or provide extra lighting for the immediate work area.
DRYWALL SANDER SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! Misuse or failure to follow the safety rules stated in
this instruction manual may cause serious personal injury.
IBL DS80-70|90

7
Position the power supply cord out of rotating accessory. Do
not abuse the cord, never use the cord to carry the tools or pull
the plug from the outlet. Always make sure that any extension
cord you use is in good condition, and if used outdoors is of a
suitable type, and so labelled.
Use the vacuum dust extraction accessory in conjunction with
this sander. The workplace should be kept as clean and dust free
as possible. Do not connect a domestic vacuum cleaner to this
machine.
Use special care when working corners, sharp edges etc. Avoid
bouncing and snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp edges or
bouncing have a tendency to snag the rotating accessory and
cause loss of control or kickback.
Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and
recommended by the tool manufacturer. Just because the
accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure
safe operation.
Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to
a complete stop. The rotating accessory may grab the surface
and pull the power tool out of your control.
Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the
accessory such as abrasive discs for chips and cracks, backing
pad for cracks, tear or excess wear. If power tool or accessory is
damaged, inspect for damage or install with a replaced accessory.
Threaded mounting of accessories must match the spindle
thread. Accessories that do not match the mounting hardware of
the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and
may cause loss of control.
Be extremely careful of dust disposal, materials in fine particle
form may be explosive. Do not throw sanding dust on an open
fire. Spontaneous combustion, may in time, result from a mixture
of oil or water with dust particles.
Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will
draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of
powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.

The Drywall sander is a hand-held power tool suitable for
sanding plastered walls, ceilings, and interior walls, as well as
for removing paper residues, paint layers, coatings, adhesive
residues, and loose plaster. The device can also be used to sand
the floor as well. This is way durable, cost effective, easy to
install and use, altogether saves a lot of money and time.
The tool has a large surface area, a wide base. This makes
tackling those big walls easier as you are able to attack a larger
section of the wall at once.
This drywall sander has an in-built dust extraction accessory,
designed to collect all those fine plasterboard dust particles away
from the motor and then expel them into the attached bag.
There is an LED attachment on this product which shines light on
pits and imperfections on the wall, making it easy to re-sand
those problematic areas the minute you saw.
DS80-90 has an adjustable edge guard (a portion can be
detached from the guard), making it suitable for corners and all.
Unpack all parts and lay them on flat, stable surface. Remove all
packing materials. If you find that parts are missing or show
damage, do not use the product but contact your dealer.
Check if the tool is in good conditions by performing a quick
visual inspection. Ensure that you have all the accessories and
tools needed for assembly and operation.

Rotate variable speed control (3) to adjust speed
of the tool that can suit different applications.
High speed (2300 rpm) is suitable for fine grain
sand-paper disc to achieve a smooth finish. Low
speed (1200 rpm) is suitable for sanding with
coarse sand disc for fast material removal.
There is an LED attachment on this product which works as a work-
light that illuminate clearly on pits and imperfections on the wall,
making it easy to re-sand those areas. This also helps for working in
a dark work area. For DS80-70, the switch is under the main
handle and DS80-90 has it attached with the power plug.

Place the new abrasive disc accurately onto the backing pad on the
guard (7). Press it firmly by hand into place, the ‘hook and loop’
attachment system on the pad does rest of the job.
Be careful to ensure that the eight holes in the abrasive sanding
disc line up perfectly with the eight holes in the backing pad.
Two P240 sanding discs would be available with the product*.
Your tool can be used with 150, 180, 240 and 400 grit sanding
discs of 190 mm diameter for different sanding requirements.

14
FITTING THE DUST BAG AND HOSE:
The dust hose and dust bag
available with the product allow
the dust to be captured for easy
clean up and should be fitted to
help maintain a clean, healthy
working environment.
The dust bag has a strap to
allow you to carry the dust bag
with you while you operate the
tool around the room.
Push the end of dust hose onto the dust port at the back of the tool.
To remove the dust bag and hose, simply pull the end of the hose off
the tools dust port.
SELF EXTRACTION DUST SYSTEM:
The Extraction control (5) allows the
operator to adjust the power of the
suction provided by the inbuilt dust
extraction system.
The system is powered by an internal
fan attached to the motor, therefore
will only function while the tool is in
operation.
Rotate the extraction control to set the desired extraction speed.
Rotate the control clockwise fully for maximum suction and
counter clockwise for reduced suction.
EMPTYING THE DUST:
We recommend emptying dust bag after every sanding operation.
Remove the dust hose with dust bag from the sander’s dust port.
Hold the dust bag over a trash can. Remove the clasp (plastic slide
fastener) beneath the bag and empty the dust bag.
Attach the clasp back onto the rails of the dust bag, and re-attach
the dust hose and dust bag to the tool.

15
The Drywall Sander should always be held with both hands, one
on the trigger switch handle, and other on the side handle.
Adjust the carry straps on the dust bag for operator convenience
and comfort. Adopt the correct posture for the operation.
Let the sanding disc come to full speed before applying it onto
the work.
Switch the machine ON and position the sanding base lightly
against the work surface, and apply just enough pressure to align
the base with the work surface.
Gently apply more pressure to engage the rotating abrasive disc
onto the work surface.
Move the sander across the work surface in long overlapping
sweeps. Apply only enough pressure to keep the abrasive disc flat
against the work surface.
Excessive pressure should be avoided as it can cause swirl marks
and unevenness in the work surface.
Keep the sander in constant motion while the abrasive disc is in
contact with the work surface. Use a steady, sweeping motion,
allowing the rotating abrasive disc to float over the work surface.
Moving the sander erratically or concentrating for too long on one
area can cause swirl marks in the surface.
Once the sanding task has been completed, turn OFF the sander
by releasing the trigger. If the sander has been locked ON, press
down the lock button and trigger to release them, and your tool
will turn OFF. Wait for the base pad to stop rotating before setting
the tool down.
GENERAL OPERATION
IBL DS80-70|90
WARNING! Do not force the tool or apply excessive pressure,
this may cause damage to the motor. Let the tool do the work.
Always use the side handle. The operator should adopt a
comfortable posture with their feet apart and firmly balanced.
We recommend a maximum operator duty cycle of 10–12
minutes, after which the operator should rest for 5 minutes
before resuming sanding operations.
Refer page no. 6 and 7 for the specific instructions before
operating the tool.

16
Tool should be kept clean, especially its air vents. Keep the
tool and ventilation slots (air vents) clean and free from
obstructions. Accumulation of dust in the motor or on the base
may cause a malfunction of the tool.
Do not use chemical cleaners to clean your tool. Wipe it clean
with a dry cloth.
Cleaning the guard; When accumulation of dust or chips on the
guard looks excessive, loosen the screw (with the allen key
provided) and remove the cover. Wash off accumulation of dust
inside and reinstall it.
For storage, we recommend using the original package for
covering the product or a suitable means to protect it against
dust.
Before and after each use, check the product and accessories (or
attachments) for wear and damage.
Inspecting the rotating accessory; Check the sanding pad and
disc carefully for cracks or damage before and after each use.
Continuing to use a dull disc may cause a dangerous kickback
and/or motor overload. Dressing could be suitable or replace with
a new disc as soon as it no longer works effectively.
Inspecting the supply cord; Do not pull or carry the tool by the
electric cord or allow its contact with edges, sharp elements,
rough surfaces, oil or chemicals that may damage its flexible and
insulating properties.
Inspecting carbon brushes; Keep the brushes clean so that they
move freely on the support. Remove and inspect the carbon
brushes once in a while.

NOTE: This product does not contain any parts that can be
repaired by the consumer. Contact an authorised service centre
or a similarly qualified person to have it checked and repaired.

17
CARBON BRUSH INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT:
The wear on the carbon brushes depends on how frequently and
how heavily the tool is used. If you see excessive sparks during
operation or if the tool stops working, inspect the brushes and
replace them.
To inspect the brushes, open the carbon brush covers by turning
them counter-clockwise with a flat-head screwdriver.
Take out and inspect the carbon brushes. If the brushes are worn,
replace them with new carbon brushes.
Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time.
SANDING BASE PAD REPLACEMENT:
Remove any installed sanding disc to reveal the backing pad and
the centrally located socket headed screw that attaches it to the
power driven spindle.
Hold the backing pad with one hand, loosen the socket headed
screw using the supplied Allen Key. Remove the screw and lift
away the pad.
WARNING! All further inspection and repair work must be
performed by an authorised service centre or a qualified technician!
