Input Connection Options
Your PX-Sub10A Subwoofer features inputs for two different signal
types.
PX-Sub10A
LFE /Slave Input Allows connection to a LFE channel
(Low Frequency Effect).
SAT/SUB Input Allows connection of a full bandwidth signal.
Signals connected via the LFE/Slave Input is processed and
reproduced by the subwoofer and routed to the Slave Output for
connection to a second subwoofer.
Full bandwidth signals at the SAT/SUB Input are reproduced by the
subwoofer and routed to the SAT/SUB and the Slave Output terminals
with frequencies cut off according to the High Pass and Low Pass
settings. Use the SAT/SUB Output Terminal for connection to a power
amplifier or active speakers.
Basic Set-up and Operation
Before connecting your PX-Sub10A subwoofer, make sure that the
power of all your system components is turned off. Also, turn the
main volume control (gain) on your subwoofer all the way down.
Set the Mode switch on your subwoofer to LFE (Note:
if connecting more than one subwoofer, the first
subwoofer will be set to LFE. Set the Mode to "Slave"
for the second and all subsequent subwoofers.)
Connect LFE Channel to the LFE/Slave
Input on your subwoofer. Connect full
bandwidth signals to the SAT/SUB
Input.
After all instrument, speaker, and
component connections have been made,
turn on your subwoofer and other powered
components.
Slowly raise the volume on your PX-Sub10A
subwoofer to the desired level by adjusting the
Gain control.

Multiple Subwoofer Set-up
Connecting multiple subwoofers may be desired in large studios or
other spaces featuring difficult acoustic conditions. PX-Sub10A
subwoofers can be easily linked by connecting the Slave Output
terminal on the first unit to the LFE/Slave Input on the second terminal,
and so on.
Loudspeaker Connection
To connect loudspeakers to your subwoofer, use the SAT/SUB Output
terminals to connect an XLR cable to the input on your power amplifier.
(Be sure to note the manufacturer's instructions and specifications for
proper amplifier and speaker set-up).
The first subwoofer will act as the "Master" and should be set up as
indicated on page 5 (and the diagrams showing below), with the Mode
set to "LFE." Set the mode to "Slave" on each additional subwoofer.
Note: when using multiple subwoofers, the volume and phase settings
of the Master will control all subwoofers.

Settings and Adjustments
Low Pass setting
The Low Pass control defines the frequency range of the
subwoofer and cuts off frequencies above the selected
level. Frequencies above the selected level are routed to
the SAT/SUB Output while those below the Low Pass
setting are reproduced by the subwoofer and available
at the Slave Output Terminal.
The correct setting of the Low Pass control is important to ensure
balance between the subwoofer and speakers. Adjust the Low Pass
setting to the desired level between 50 and 150 HZ.
Note: Only signals at the SAT/SUB Input are affected by the Low Pass
control.
High Pass setting
The bass capabilities of satellite speakers can potentially
overlap the frequency range of your subwoofer. Poor
sound quality can result when the system is not matched
properly or when using small speakers or low-powered
amplifiers. The High Pass filter can be used to limit the
bass range of speakers connected via the SAT/SUB
Output terminals.
PX-Sub10A subwoofers are equipped with three High Pass settings:
Flat
50 Hz
80 Hz
No limitation
Frequencies below 50 Hz are cut off
Frequencies below 80 Hz are cut off
To select the desired High Pass setting, first choose between "Flat" or
"HP" (High Pass). If "HP" is selected, choose the preferred cut-off
frequency 50 Hz of 80 Hz.
Phase Setting
Set up your system components as described above
Play a bass-rich soundtrack that includes frequencies
in the overlap
Switch the Phase Setting between 0 and 180 to
find which setting provides the most bass.
